I used to take my pets to Dr. Rao, but have learned my lesson. My cat got into a fight with the dog, and I brought him to see Dr. Rao, after doing sutures, she tells me that my cat has a very bad heart murmur and I should do ultrasounds (to the tune of $300+)there might be medications that can help him. At the time the cat was only a couple of years old. None of the other vets visited said anything. When I came for the suture follow up, we saw Dr. Rao's husband (other vet) I asked him if he had heard a heart murmur, he said no his heart sounded great. Since going there I had two other vets check him out and they both concur. My kitties heart sounds great. Watch out for Dr. Rao, (in our case)she always seemed to want to do "further (expensive) tests" Her office visit was a couple of dollars lower than other local vets but she more than makes up for it with all the extra tests she wants to run on problems that don't exist. This was our experience with this vet. We will not be returning.
