Our cat of 16yrs was put down using Dr.Boston's in home service. The experience was unprofessional, lengthy and devastating.

Dr. Boston was our vet for many years and we always believed what he recommended. We have a small dog that has bladder stones and we were told that if one was lodged, he wouldn't be able to be saved and would need to be euthanised. Our other dog has had seizures for years and we have had all kinds of tests done with no answer as to why. ONE VISIT to another vet in Hamilton and we have all our answers (this dog is currently hospitalized for severe diabetes that Boston completely missed) and we also have been assured that any stones lodged in our other dog would not be a problem and to bring him on by anytime, day or night. I will not be bringing my pets to Boston anymore.

Our poor cat was suffering from diabetes and Dr.Boston was treating him. A few months in he got sick, and required medication. Dr.Boston advised to stop giving insulin until he was done the medication. 2 weeks later when we came home to find the cat on deaths door we took him to a different vet who advised that because we stopped the insulin he had a diabetic crash and his body shut down. They couldn't believe he would advise this! Also, he never told us to feed him special diabetic food or anything! He also did surgery on a friends dog on their washing machine and the dog died 3 weeks later. The surgery was for his eye!! Run away from this so called DR. He is well past his prime!

my dog was euthenized. without following anytype of protocol what so ever. my dog injested a small amount of marijuana which "dr" boston ASSUMED was a stroke. therefore convincing us that euthanization was the best thing. to later find a small emty bag. and lost my best friend. i would think twice before dr boston takes the life of a loved one in your family next.

We are so gratefull that Dr. Boston cared for our beautiful lab. Dr.Boston is a compassionate and dedicated vet with tons of experience(as a child he was also our family's vet). Throughout our dogs life we could always count on Dr.Boston for guidance, and great veterinary care. We recently had to put our dog down due to his old age and condition. We knew we could trust Dr.Boston's diagnosis that this was the right thing to do. We are so gratefull that we were able to offer our dog top notch care with such an incredible vet. I've read some of the other comments posted and it is ridiculous to judge a mobile vet on punctuality. Dr.Boston comes to your home and when your dog is ill and needs care he spends the time needed with your animal. I don't know any other vet that offers this type of service. I found Dr. Boston very punctual and never waited more than 10 minutes in the comfort of my own home for him. Thank you Dr.Boston for being extraordinary in your field.

Dr. Boston has been looking after our cats and dogs for 21 years now. He is thorough in his diagnostics and approach. His house calls leaves the animals feeling safe and comfortable and we love that added service. He is very knowledgable and shares his information openly and gladly. We would never use another vet and hope he never retires. did I mention his fees are outstanding, fair and compatible :)

Dr. Boston's wife was lovely on the phone. Gave an appointment for that same day to see my client's dog who had been attacked by a goose the night before. Dr. Boston is the dog's regular vet. The Doctor was 45 minutes late, complained about missing his lunch and mentioned it a few times. He had no compassion for his client, laying in the grass in obvious discomfort. He took literally three minutes to decide the acutely injured dog needed an xray and made an appointment on the client's phone. He mentioned to the dog's owner that the dog had suffered 'PERMANENT NEUROLOGICAL DAMAGE' to her front leg. I asked how that could happen in a goose attack and Dr. Boston failed to accurately answer that. He then gave a verbal bill of $113. I asked for a breakdown, he acted as a deserving hero. He asked the dog's owner my name, disgusted. I told him my full name, proudly. He then called me a name! Turns out the dog sprained her ankle. No permanent damage at all. He IS a cold, money hungry, man.

Always very knowledgeable about what was going on, kind and fair, no fuss or small talk. Always so on time and prepared for what he was called.

I can't believe what I am reading about Dr. Boston. I have a cat & dog and we have been with him since my dog was a puppy - 4 years ago. Dr. Boston has always been amazing and my animals love him! I would recommend him to everyone!

He is a terrible vet! I too had him come out to put my small dog to sleep. I have had to euthanise my dogs before, and I realize that it is an awful experience. This time however, I was not given the time or space to say goodbye to my dog. He took that time away from me by talking and encroaching on my space. When I asked him for a THIRD time to give me space and back up he merely replied with, "Well, she's dead now". He is heartless and only in this for the money. I am a huge animal lover and an active member within the animal community here in Burlington, anyone who has used him will attest to this - he's a cold, money hungry old man who could very well be the least current person in veterinary sciences you will ever meet. Do not risk going to him, you will regret it.

Dr. Boston recently euthanized one of our cats at our home. I am a physiologist, so I understand that euthanizing a cat is much more difficult than a dog, especially a very ill or elderly cat. Ironically it’s just a fact that a big dog will succumb to a single injection, whereas a cat is another story. Sometimes it’s easy… sometimes not, but it has nothing to do with the vets skill-set. Dr. Boston does have a “different” manner, no doubt about it. But he knows his stuff, and has always done well by our dogs & cats. Our animals are not the slightest bit fearful of him, and we find the house-calls a godsend. I find most vets tend to over-test, just like most medical doctors. It is their training to cover all the bases. If you don’t think your pet needs a test, hold off and go do your homework. The internet is filled with some very informative veterinary sites.
