Click to report rating    10/6/16   5     5     5     5   I've had nothing short of amazing experiences here, bringing my 2 dogs, Popeye and Olive Oil to see both Dr. Gothelf and Dr. Silverstein. They are truly caring doctors and I would highly recommend them to anyone in the area. RID: 61759

7/18/16   4     4     3     1   Friendly, helpful staff, but be prepared to pay. Shots, shots and more shots. Ridiculous, cannot be healthy for an animal. Hundreds of dollars later, dog died blind with diabetes. Still wondering if it was the shots. RID: 61133
Click to report rating    5/21/15   5     5     5     5   I feel extremely comfortable with my doctor and the staff. I feel that they will go the extra mile for my babies and THAT means the world to me! RID: 57094
Click to report rating    6/8/14   5     5     5     5   Love Love Love everyone at Syosset Animal Hospital. The entire staff is incredibly wonderful. They are empathetic, sincere, knowledgable. They always make you feel like "family" My previous vets were economically comparable but Syosset Animal Hospital is well worth it, not my previous vet. Syosset Animal Hospital has more convenient hours, phenomenal bed-side manners, and always look out for the most economical treatments. I HIGHLY recommend Syosset Animal Hospital!!!! RID: 52013
Click to report rating    1/1/14   4     3     1     1   Staffs are nice, but money hungry. I took my two chichuchu for annually check up. Doctor wants to do bunches of test, I end up paying $1000. Never went back again. RID: 49027
Click to report rating    1/15/13   4     5     4     4   If you decide to go here- DR PLUNKETT is definitely the doctor to see :) He's young, aware of owners budgets and emotions, and won't do unnecessary tests on your pet. He is very kind and understanding, and the techs too. They all care very much. Make sure you definitely get an appt with him! RID: 39657
Click to report rating    12/28/12   5     4     4     4   I brought my 12 year old cat in about a month ago who wasn't looking right and found out she had late stage kidney failure. I initially saw Dr. Plunkett, who admitted her to the hospital, and also interacted with Dr. Gothelf during her stay. The doctors were so helpful and caring toward Sadie and walked me through everything that needed to be done step by step. After treatment for a week at the hospital, I was able to bring her home. The technicians and Dr. Plunkett showed me and my husband how to give fluid therapy at home and let us practice before we left. We give Sadie her treatments three times per week and she continues to do well and is a very happy cat. Thank you to the staff at Syosset Animal Hospital for saving our Sadie!! RID: 39279
Click to report rating    11/29/12   1     1     1     1   I brought my dog to the vet for surgery. We were given an estimate of $2500 when we were in the vet and were told they would call us that night with the exact price. They called and we were told $2688.My wife asked if the price could go up and they said it would likely go down because they always over estimate the medication. After the surgery we spoke to the Vet's office every day for 4 days and we even visited while he was recovering and nobody once ever mentioned that the bill had gone up.When we picked him up we were then told the bill was over $3800.After picking up our dog and reviewing the bill not only did they take advantage of us by jacking up the price they also padded the bill with unnecessary items. One such item was special dog food he 'needed' for 2 weeks and they put 4 weeks of food on bill. The vet told us after the fact that Mickey didn't need to stay as long as he did but that the other partners at the hospital do that to get more money from their clients. DON'T GO! RID: 38775
Click to report rating    7/4/12   5     5     5     4   The staff at Syosset Animal Hospital is very kind and caring. All of the doctors are always very compassionate when treating my dog. The receptionists are very helpful and the rest of the staff always gentle. We board our dog there when we go on vacation, and he is always excited when we arrive there. We have been going to Syosset Animal Hospital for over 10 years. When we recently moved, we made the decision to continue going there, even though we need to travel farther. Kathy. RID: 35447
Click to report rating    4/20/12   5     5     5     5   I want to thank the staff and Dr.Plunkett for all their patience and kindness while my cat was ill. It was a tough time and they understood what I was going through and of course my lovely cat. Just like with people in our lives, our parents, children, husbands, wife, we must research everything to get the right care for them. We have to be educated so we can discuss the problems and in this case with our pets and their respective doctors. I again thank kind Dr.Plunkett and the Staff. Andrea RID: 33639
Click to report rating    3/23/12   3     1     2     1   This place sucks.... They know nothing about exotics at all!!! Trial and error is not what you practice with pet!!! RUN PEOPLE!!! RID: 33107
Click to report rating    10/19/11   1     2     2     1   Money hungry and rude. They insist on unnecessary tests and vaccinations. Did multiple xrays on my 16lbs dog for a ligament problem, insisted on surgery. I refused and she is just fine. Charged me around $1000 for the xrays (I had told them not to do it) and two nights of hospital stay (in a tiny cage). As I was away during my dog's admission at their facility, they would not release her till I had paid via credit card, over the phone. Extremely bad experience. RID: 28431
Click to report rating    8/19/11   2     2     2     1   Money hungry. I brought my 14 yr old yorkie for dental work. They said we needed several tests to make sure he could be sedated. Was told xray showed he had an enlarged heart and needed a body scan, but he should be OK for dental surgery. $Thousands later was told scan showed no enlarged heart. I asked why the different finding and was told xray is not conclusive. Chronic cough started after sedation. Didnt know why, but they needed to run more tests. Told them I already paid a lot of $ and needed to wait a while before I went further. After a few months with the cough, I called them back. Dr. again said my dog has a heart problem!! I took him to a different vet who said he has no heart problem. Also said cough was probably from scratched trachea when the sedative tube was inserted during dental surgery. Now my dog has a cough he didnt have before, and still spending $$ trying to cure him. At least the new vet isnt running unnecessary tests that Syosset wanted to to. MONEY HUNBRY! RID: 27047
Click to report rating    3/18/08   1     2     1     1   they were wrong about my dog also, the original owner was great, knew what he was doing but the doctors they have there now are only interested in how much money they can make--be careful when dealing with them--if it is only for regular shots they are okay but if anything is wrong with your pet go somewhere else RID: 7755
Click to report rating    10/30/07   1     2     2     1   completely misdiagnosed our dog, said she was fin when she actually has cancer and will not survive much longer------do not trust them---- RID: 6319
