Click to report rating    10/15/12   5     5     4     4   I don't get where the complaints are coming from. Been using WVG for years for several dogs. Even had one put down there and they were very compassionate nad understanding. Had surgeries done and numerous sick visits and well visits. are they pricey, probably yes but my dogs are worth it to me. Are they interested in making money? Yes, they are a business not a charity. I've never had any experience with gouging or add-ons. I've also never dealt with some of the doctors mentioned but Dr. Day and Dr. Doyle are excellent clinicians and caring folks to boot. What more can you expect-for them to walk you out to your car and hold the door for you? As for mis-diagnosis, I've had seen plenty from a vat in Brooklyn (totally missed the boat on a cat who suffered more than she should have) and a real off-base diagnosis from the "famed" Red Bank Animal Hospital (treated my dog for poisoning when WVG found he had brain cancer). No ones perfect. Mistakes happen. I just haven't seen many at WVG. RID: 37826
Click to report rating    6/29/12   1     3     2     1   The only thing I found to be 'par' was the waiting area and the place to take pets to use the toilet outside. Other than that, they misdiagnosed two different cats of mine, both of whom had leukemia and had to be put to sleep three months later. Stay away. RID: 35323

1/21/12   1     4     3     1   BEWARE of this place. All they care about is money and their staff with the exception of Dr. Day are all very cold and uncaring. We brought our mini pin into their hospital on an emergency basis on a Monday and Dr. Fellen ran tests and recommended that she stay in their facility for a maximum of 3 nights. We obviously agreed to this. Our estimate was brought to us soon after, since all they care about is making money and we agreed to pay it without any hesitation. We were in constant phone contact with Dr, Fellen and the vet tech during the 3 nights that our mini pin was there and we were mislead about her condition. We were told that she was eating turkey (her fav) and that she even played and walked around the facility. I also asked Dr Fellen directly if I needed to come home to NJ (since I live in Manhattan) in the event something happened after she was discharged and Dr. Fellen said she did not think so. However, I rushed home when my sister called me after picking her up and told RID: 31692
1/11/12   2     5     1     1   Don't let the clean facility fool you. Staff is okay and the price is very high. Tag on unnecessary tests without your permission. Punctuality is the worst. My dog is always nervous when he sees the vet. I checked in 11:50am for my 12pm appointment. While three other owners checked in after me all went in while I was still sitting in the waiting room with my dog shaking nervously on my lap at 12:20pm. RID: 30439

Click to report rating    2/1/10   1     4     1     1   Dr. Rosenblum treated my cat and misdiagnosed her to the point I had to have my cat euthanised RID: 16391
Click to report rating    4/4/09   4     5     4     2   Have been dealing with them for over 20yrs..facility is very clean, office staff is so-so, but Dr Doyle is the best-very compassionate and thorough...rates are on the HIGH side. RID: 12351
Click to report rating    5/6/08   3     4     4     3   I have been going to Westfield vet for years. Though they are high priced and seem to want to make alot of money, they do have good vets and seem state of the art. They are very nice, prompt and the place is clean. I have had many pets operations etc. and all have gone well. I have my favorite Dr. after going through a few (Dr. Shawn Day) and he truly cares for my pets. RID: 8392
Click to report rating    1/2/08   2     3     2     1   We brought our bird in for a check up and when she began to fly the Dr shut the light off and our poor girl flew into the door and hurt her wing and has not been able to fly ever since. Not only didn't they diagnose the problem she came in with they sent her home unable to fly and worse off then when se cahe in. We were told that shutting the light off an a flying bird was "policy". Knowing they injured her they fully charged us and never had the decency to call us and see how she was after hurting her wing. It's been almost a month and she still can't fly :( That was the last time they'll ever see us again. RID: 6831
