Horrific experience with this person. I can't even bring myself to call her a doctor, there is no way a vet whom takes an oath and adheres to it, would do what she did. My dog is forever disabled, in pain and truly not living a great life because of this person. She allowed my dog to be tended to by an inexperienced person, which resulted in him losing the use of his back legs. He was there for a routine, after care, shot, and left without the use if his back legs. I heard it all happen through the door. We have more than enough proof and now cases and files are opened. Specialists, surgeons and other vets have all agreed that my dog incurred a serious lumbar injury. Her own staff members and even the vet admitted to the trauma. Staff have begged her to pay for the severe injury and ongoing care he needs but she just thinks this will go away. It won't. I won't go away. When a trusted "doctor" severely hurts your family member, you don't stop until you receive justice.

I felt like all my animals were good for was profit immediately at this vet. The vet gave my kitten and cat vaccinations but did not do any sort of exam on my new kitten and suggested I buy their cat food. When I didn't they gave me a handful of brochures on their cat food to buy, told me all the reasons pet store food is inadequate and proceeded to call me 3 times in one week to check 'if I had decided on which cat food I would buy'. By the third phone call, the fact that they kept pestering me on what I would buy instead of asking how my kitten did with the vaccinations it was 100% clear to me that this vet was a profit based business tat preyed on the weakness of humans loving their pets. I don't usually write bad reviews, I tend to stick to the good ones, but I would say steer clear of here if you want your pets taken care of like you would take care of them.

I have brought my dogs to Departure Bay Veterinary Hospital for over 15 years. In the past almost 3 years I have had 2 huge emergencies that they have dealt with immediately, and 1 chronically sick dog that they were excellent with. I have also had dentals done on my dogs and their quotes were lower than what I saw on a local pet list as being average. THANK YOU FOR CARING Dr Brown.

We have been going to Dep bay vet for a couple of years. We recently purchased oral flea meds for our dog. When 2 weeks went by and he still had fleas, we checked the prescription. It expired 1 year ago!! We went into the vet to let them know and they simply said, "oh, sorry.". No refund, no exchange, etc. We are flabbergasted. They also told us we should've been giving it to him every 48hrs although the written instructions they gave us said once a week. They then said it was a new staff member who messed that up. We later phoned to say we are not satisfied and they still refused to reimburse us. Amazing that this clinic will take a bad review and loose a client over $50. We will never return. August 2016.

I will never go back to this clinc, they wanted to charge me an extra $100 on the top of the $70 exam fee, just to see my dog without having a prior appointment. It wasn't an emergency and I called within business hours! They try to take advantage of the customers. I took my dog to another clinc in the same day that didn't charge me the $100 "emergency fee". I hate dealing with exploitative businesses.

All the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.Dr.Brown explained everything and took her time with Abbey's exam. I was nervous due to Abbey(Maltese/Shitzu)having a previous reaction to a vaccine....but I was reassured and we felt well cared for.I would highly recommend this Vet clinic.
