A veterinarian friend of mine in the Okanagan recounted to me a horror story of a chihuahua that went in to the Courtenay Veterinary Clinic to have his teeth cleaned and approximately 5 months later had to be euthanized from complications of his teeth cleaning. It turns out that the veterinarian at the Courtenay Veterinary Clinic who did the procedure PUNCTURED BOTH OF HIS EYEBALLS while cleaning his teeth. After many $$$$ in vet bills to figure out why the poor little dog was not getting better and seemed to be blind, he eventually had both of his eyes removed. The lab that examined his eyes after they were removed said that both of his eyeballs had been punctured!!! The little dog never properly recovered (there was speculation by one vet that they may have actually managed to not only blind him but do brain damage as well.) If you don't believe me, ask one of the vet's at the Courtenay Veterinary Clinic if this is true! I would give this clinic Zero stars if I could.....

I brought my boyfriend's dog to Courtenay Veterinary Clinic this summer after 3 years of ongoing skin and ear infections. Dr. Maura Lazzarotto did an excellent job explaining that food allergies were the reason. My dog looks, and smells, great now!
