We were happy with VCA Burlington Animal Hospital for a number of years. Then over the past year,a number of things happened that changed that. one particular vet would constantly refer us to emergency or specialists instead of diagnose anything (once was for a simple upper respiratory infection it turned out). It was to the point that we questioned if they were getting kickbacks. Then the other/more senior vet failed to diagnose an infection that was obvious on the bloodwork months prior. Our cat passed away as a result - it was too late for the emergency vet to save him. Emergency vet did confirm that, had he been treated for the infection right away, he most likely would still be alive. If you are going to use this Hospital, get copies of all tests and bloodwork and get second opinions. Your pet's life may depend on it.

BAH has been our vets for over 20 years. They were caring and the doctors were exceptional! I use the word WERE because they are no longer caring or exceptional. It is ALL about the MONEY! Unfortunately the animals don't seem to matter. Over the last 3 years it is a different vet every time we go.So I have to explain my animals issues all over again ( I guess they don't write it down) I just took my dog in because he was bitten. The vet didn't even look at his foot first she said she needed to shave it so she could see the wound better. I understand shaving his foot ( btw the shaved area was the size of a dime) I didn't except to be charged an additional $63 just for the shaving.Prior to that they wanted to run $1800.00 worth of tests to see why my cat was urinating outside the litter box.Just testing not curing or treating...SERIOUSLY! My bad for continuing to go there and it's such a shame because the rest of the staff are fantastic!

Not happy here. Reception staff is friendly but vet (Dr. Lowe) is confusing and seems to be money motivated. My pup is much better off elsewhere.

They care more about money than your pets health. They are associated by the Farley Foundation and when I was in desperate need someone referred me to them. I called back again and then they told me they had no funding? Why recommend something if it's not available? They make up a lot of issues to get money out of you and it is never even close to the real problem. My dog was possibly dying and we needed to get him in as soon as possible yet they showed no sympathy and told us nothing was available. My dog was at the point where he wasn't even moving. He went downhill overnight pretty much. Considering the horrible symptoms he was showing, you'd think they'd try to make the effort to squeeze him in but they didn't seem to care at all. Every other clinic was willing to squeeze him in. Thank god we didn't bring him there though because we found a place much cheaper with an AMAZING doctor who really cared about my dog. I will never go back to Burlington Animal hospital again.

Never been really impressed with them. Reception staff are great especially Ryan. Over priced and over rated. The vets sales pitch on treatment options sound like some shady used car salesman. More caring vets elsewhere and save money at the same time.

Seem to take best guess at diagnosis, often wrong which surprise surprise costs a small fortune. Staff friendly enough but not there to make friends! Prices through the roof and expert advise not so expert. I have been to several different vets over the last 20 years and this clinic absolutely at the bottom of my list.

Nothing but great things to say about this practice. There have been some changes over the last few years but all for the best. The staff and doctors are fantastic and friendly and want to just do the best for my pet and willing to give me options depending on what I can afford. Definitely recommend now and I suggest Dr Pechey, you can really see she cares about my pets and not just about selling me on services.

My kitty Zane has become a new patient of the clinic. As a pet owner I knew what to expect but I was blown away at how the clinic treated me as a client. Zane is very special to me and i have saved the pictures the clinic sent me after his surgery and that he was the best patient of the day :) he loved all the extra attention!

Having made an appointment to get our cat spayed, and meeting the staff I was quite impressed. However for spaying, shots, nail clipping and a second round of shots, and medicine for a parasite she "might" have twice, our bill was a whopping $982. We will not be returning.

WOW... have there been some changes!!! While it's nice to see the clinic finally get some cosmetic work, it's not nice seeing my prices SKYROCKET to pay for the renovations... Aside from the ridiculous turnover at this clinic, the new manager is not someone you want to have to deal with; he has NO compassion at all and I will not be taking my pet back there again. And through word of mouth I will advise all my animal friends to go elsewhere! Get your act together people; we love our pets.

I didn't know where to take my dog for a few hours when I went to my doctors appointment. I discovered that Burlington Animal Hospital does day boarding and even walks the dogs on their huge green grass front yard. I was able to meet several staff members and am quite pleased. I am a regular client now

Not sure how to comment, firstly if you are not willing to mortgage your home then this is definetly not the vet for you...prices are ridiculously unjustified. In all honesty the only truelly good consistent thing about this clinic is it's compassionate staff, their compassion does come off as genuine. I am not convinced the Vets are the best you will find but they have a good bedside manner, however, that is not enough to make this my clinic of choice.

RUN DON'T WALK away from this clinic! They misdiagnosed my cat, which lead to unnecessary anxiety and discomfort. The correct diagnosis resulted in my cat being euthanized, which cost me over twice the high end average for both the euthanization and communal cremation. They tried to justify the cost by saying they charge less for other services...NOT!!!ALL IN ALL A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

My cat stopped eating and undertandably I was upset. I took him to this clinic and the vet could not tell me what was wrong, and suggested that my cat was just 'picky'. He did suggest blood work, and said that he would call me with the results the following day. I was quite happy with the initial consultation even though it lacked a diagnosis. This being said, I called the following day and couldn't get anyone to tell me about my cats blood work. The people at the desk kept saying I was on the dr.s call back list. After 4 phone calls and 45 minutes before they were going to close for the night, the vet answered my call. He was apologetic, however, being worried about my cat with no explanation of test results and after spending $230 at the clinic the day before I was not impressed with the customer service! I still don't know what's wrong with my cat and have decided to go elsewhere.

Read the other ratings before going to this hospital with your four legged family members! I thoroughly enjoyed dealing with the previous staff members, where did they go? I agree with this hospital being money greedy. The care of my pets by the doctor (Dr. Benjamin) and staff (Reception, and Animal Health Technician's) do not justify the $ increases under the new management. Like most of the other ratings I was a long time client. The service has greatly deminished since the change of ownership. I will not return! There are lots of other Animal Hospital's in town.

I WAS a long time client of this hospital. I am sorry to say NOT ANYMORE! I have seen the prices go up and the services not improving (decreasing customer satisfication). Now every time I go in, since the change of ownership there is new staff or long time staff members are gone! Just recently one of the doctors are not there? What does this say about the business and/or the management.

I recently moved to Burlington and wasn't sure where to take my pet; so I picked up the phone and started calling around... I was very happy and pleased with the voice on the other end of the phone; she was very friendly and seemed to understand my needs and I felt very comfortable making an appointment for my sick pet. After meeting with the doctor, I am very pleased. They explained everything very well, went through my options and understood my financial restraints. My pet was very well taken care of, and we are happy to have found Burlington Animal Hospital. I will reccomend them without any doubt.

I have been a customer at this hospital for years with many of my pets. I've had nothing but an uneasiness with the medical knowledge and confidence of the new veterinarians. I do not feel the services rendered warranted by the vets explain the sharp increases in their prices. Unfortunately I have recommended this hospital to many of my friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members. We all agree with the other reviews money seems to be their most important, not the care for our 4-legged friends. I have always been treated professionally by the front office staff. Over the years they have been very friendly and knowledgeable. It was nice knowing who the owner was, now you walk in and don't even know who is who. With this said I have found another vet in town and feel very confident my 4-legged friends are going to be well treated no matter what situation arises.

Much too interested in making money then providing care for my cat. Staff is rather insensitive standing around telling jokes and yaking about there weekend exploits while waiting to have a long old sick cat put down - not at all impressed, looking for a new cat & vet
