Click to report rating    2/3/23   1     4     1     2   I took my Bernese Mountain Dog, Monty, to Surry Animal Hospital for 4 years. During this time he only required routine veterinary care. We are very conscientious dog owners and assured Monty was regularly seen for physicals and vaccines. Monty started to eat less and appeared lethargic. When I called Surrey, they told me it would be 3 weeks before Monty could be seen. I explained that he was acting unwell, which was met with rude excuses and abusive comments. They actually hung up on me for advocating for my dog. Unfortunately, Monty did not have 2 weeks, and our beloved family member was euthanized as a result of advanced Lymphoma. I would like to thank Surrey Animal Hospital for assuring we discovered M20 Animal Hospital in Midland. The staff who assisted Monty in his sad transition were compassionate, helpful, and knowledgeable. Thank you M20 veterinarians and staff for all your kindness and help. I can’t recommend M20 Animal Hospital enough. RID: 70574
Click to report rating    6/12/21   1     2     3     2   DR. Peter should not be allowed to practice. I had to tell him what tests to do and what not to do in order to figure out what was wrong with my dog. He pushed testing that had nothing to do with the symptoms. An infection from my dogs tooth affected his ear. Dr Peter pushed x-rays and when nothing showed up, he said a radiologist had to look at it as he couldn't see anything. He drugged my dog up more than what's acceptable. Less than 24 hrs later, my dog improved drastically. The vet tech so did the IV bandage so tight that it was causing my dog pain. The tightness was noticed as his foot was swelling up. A vet clinic should know how to wrap after an IV. This clinic should not be accredited and Dr. Peter should not be allowed to practice. He prefers money over animal care. RID: 70002

9/2/20   5     5     5     5   Dr Bajwa and his staff were excellent. They are compassionate and provided my dog Opal with exceptional care. She had developed a severe infection which required removing her uterus. Dr Bajwa was very cautious regarding whether she needed the surgery or not and was insistent on waiting for final test results, which were delayed due to something at the lab. We were hopeful that she might not need the surgery but when the tests came back, the indication was that it was necessary. I appreciated the extra care and attentiveness to Opals condition. The staff were friendly, caring and very efficient. TheyHave been very flexible regarding payments. we will definitely be returning when Opal needs a dogtor. Thank you Dr Bajwa, Ricky and the rest of the staff for your excellence and for making sure Opal had the help she needed. RID: 69506

I HAD BEEN DEALING WITH THE SAME VET FOR 8 YEARS AND I WAS HAVING A HARD TIME FINANCIALLY, MY REGULAR VET WOULDN'T EVEN LOOK AT HIM! I CALLED THESE GUYS AND THEY LOOKED AFTER HIM AND LET ME MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR PAYMENTS. I HAD NEVER BEEN HERE BEFORE. I AM VERY GRATEFUL TO THIS CLINIC AND I CONTINUE TO GO HERE! RID: 69330

10/11/19   1     3     1     3   I took my dog here to have a growth looked at. I thought they were going to just do an xray, but next thing I knew they said they'd be doing surgery. I said okay but I didn't think till later that you're only supposed to have surgery on an empty stomach, but they would have known that. I took her back to have stitches looked at 10 days later and said her leg had become partially paralyzed. They didn't seem to care much about that. Well soon after that, she started breathing heavy and quickly died.i think she may have got aspiration pneumonia RID: 68630

9/10/19   1     1     1     1   ?????????? Surrey Animal Hospital is the worst place to take your pet ( Family member ). We took our dog in to be neutered and he was in a kennel all day. We called at 4 o’clock to see how he was doing and they told us to call back at six. We called them back and they said that their vet tech accidentally fed him so they can’t do the procedure today and they wanted to keep him overnight. We refused to keep them overnight and as we are on our way to pick him up we got a call from them saying that Their vet tech took him out to use the washroom and she stated that he tried to attack her bite her. He’s a 10-month-old puppy who has never bitten anybody or even tried to bite anybody And he had slipped his collar and took off. If a dog was trying to bite someone they wouldn’t be pulling away and wouldn’t be able to slip off a collar. We went up and we were looking for him and when I went into the Animal Hospital to ask Peter what he was doing Find our dog, he stated he had 20 peopl RID: 68543

9/8/18   5     5     5     5   We are a cat rescue and recently started using this clinic for spays and neuteres. We have completed over 40 surgeries at this clinic and have had no issues. There have been no infections and all surgery sites look very well done. They have been able to accommodate us pat minus many times and do 10 surgeries for us in a day. Their spay and neuter rates are very reasonsble at $25 a neuter and $45 a spay. This is such a viral surgery to have done and we are happy that the prices are reasonable so that public can easily access this procedure. RID: 66766

Click to report rating    2/25/18   5     5     5     5   I love this clinic. They are so polite and never rude. They never ask money they always know if the person is income or not. They gave my dogs all of his shots for 15 dollars for my low income and they also gave his medicine and food for free. Click to report rating    11/10/17   1     1     1     1   This is literally the worst clinic in the lower mainland. Awful, rude staff members and horrible vets as well.Wouldn't give straight answers, told us to come get our dog, then would cancel last minute and say "oh no one more day" and would make excuses and got different answers from both veterinarians. One would say my girl was still on IV,the other would say she hasn't been on IV for days she can go home...this happened for a week straight before i snapped and went and got my dog! They may have cheaper prices, but good care comes at a cost. Pay a reputable veterinarian! Do not go to this sham of an establishment that should be closed down. After the absolute nightmare I experienced with them I will never let anyone I know go here-nor will I ever again either.I have made reports to the BBB and the veterinary association of BC.They have poor medical practices, a dirty establishment and have no care or respect for animals. DO NOT GO HERE! SAVE YOUR ANIMAL, AND YOURSELF THE HASSLE! RUN!! RID: 65041

8/1/17   5     5     5     5   We were quite happy with the services of Dr. Pavitar, as our beloved, nimrod cat ate a penny. After a few calls between a variety of clinics it was quite clear that Surrey Animal Hospital was the place for the emptying of George's piggy bank. Upon arrival the staff worked quickly and efficiently to start the operation on George, while we talked to reception about the previously discussed pricing. We were quite happy to find that all of the medications and overnight stay were included in the previous quote. Quite often these are added on after the fact at other clinics. We are happy to say George has recovered from his abdominal surgery and has been quite happy ever since. Thank-you Dr. Pavitar and team! -Alicia & Zach RID: 64329

12/8/16   5     5     5     5   I am quite upset to see all the horrible reviews about this animal hospital. My family and I have been bringing our pets here for years. Dr Peter Bajwa operated on my bulldog a few years ago, and removed 50 bladder stones and saved her life. I just took her back there a couple of days ago, thinking that we were going to have to say goodbye. Her fur is falling out, skin is red and inflamed and sore, she is half blind and her eyes and ears are a mess. :( I brought her in thinking it was the last night I would have with her. Dr Bajwa carefully examined her and said he thinks she has some more time. He gave her a steroid injection to help clear up her skin, FREE of charge. and he took an xray to check her hips and for bladder stones FREE of CHARGE. I purchased eye and ear medication and he cleaned out her ears and trimmed her nails. Dr Bajwa has a loving heart, and really cares for these animals he treats. He helps alot of single moms, and low income families, who d RID: 62145

10/11/16   5     4     4     5   I found Surrey Animal Hospital to be very helpful, they have made it possible for me financially when times are tough. They have gone out of there way to find financial support from Vancouver Humane Society for medical care for both of my pets. RID: 61788

10/3/16   5     5     5     5   I am pleased to say that Surrey Animal Hospital has been great to my dogs and myself? The vets are quite knowledgeable and very helpful? I started going to this vet office since the day it opened and have not regretted it. I since then have moved to Vancouver island and still take a two hour ferry ride each way to go to this vet office? I have never lost a dog at this clinic due to error on the vets part! I am pleased to say I support this clinic 100 percent and would encourage anyone to take their pets there? I have seen Dr. Peter go above the call of duty to help someone's loved pet! I find this vet office is very reasonable within their pricing range! They are a walk in veterinary clinic and I find this to be very appealing as my schedule is very hectic and I find it very hard to stick to a time frame! I will continue to use this clinic as not everyone will agree on everything but I myself love this clinic! Communication is the key to success and health of your pet! RID: 61737

9/22/16   5     5     5     5   I have taken many animals to this animal hospital over the years. I have been going here since 2002. I greatly appreciate Dr. Peter and his staff. I find Dr. Peter to be kind and well educated in regards to many ailments that my pets have had over the years. Both Dr. Peter and the staff communicate well and are generous with their time. He has always taken the time to explain different conditions as well as giving me different options to try to find a solution to the problem at hand. I greatly appreciate the hours of this clinic as well as many emergencies do not occur only between the hours of 9-5pm. Thank you Surrey Animal Hospital for all that you do! RID: 61677

8/2/16   1     1     3     1   Staff are Careless Unprofessional Feckles. Took my 16 year old dog here to have a perineal mass removed deemed the biggest threat to his health = cancer. Without my consent or knowledge performed a completely unrelated surgery charged me for it and when confronted with the issue never once did I receive an explanation but lame excuses. The "doctor" Dr Mon? was rude unprofessional and deflected stating "come back in a few weeks if you want the other surgery done." After giving them the chance to do the correct surgery the manager tearfully stated she cared about my dog like a child but never once followed up with a call post surgery (going on 5 days now) Now paying another vet to correct the mess they have caused Have filed a complaint with the CVBC BBB and will take them to small claims court. I intend to do everything I can to have their licence revoked Too many details to post here but DONT EVER trust these people with your pet RID: 61253

8/24/15   1     1     1     1   Under no circumstance should any animal be taken to this "hospital" EVER. Unfortunately, in a panic last night, I took my puppy here as he was vomiting and had bloody diarrhea. The doctor immediately said he would need to keep him overnight for $200, then do x-rays for $150, do testing for $50, a shot for $20, etc etc. Nothing was explained to me even after I asked repeatedly why my puppy would need to stay overnight. The facility itself is disgusting and I should have left the minute I got there. After the initial examination, I decided to leave - $120 later and all for nothing. Took my puppy to my regular vet this morning who informed me that everything that was done at this place was useless and they just wanted our money - which was evident. How do I find out if these doctors are even certified? Worst experience - think twice before bringing your pets here. RID: 58155

9/2/14   5     5     5     5   I've been bringing my dog to the Surrey Animal Hospital for the past 7 years and not once I was diss appointed by the staff and doctors!! Some things she needed to get done were very expensive, but Rikky and Dr. Peter were able to work with me to make sure my pet gets the care she needs. The staff are so friendly too! When things were really bad I'd even get a hug! Those people do care and they know their stuff! Great clinic! And they are open 24/7 too RID: 53360

3/26/14   5     5     5     5   Excellent results yesterday when my dog had surgery n multiple problems dealt with. They suggested quieter time when to go in so not busy, they examined him n immediately did rest so I could take him home few hours later as I'm from Mission. I've been taking dog since pup 13 yrs ago, my cat n rabbit also with good results and very reseanable rates. Tried vet in Mission when moved here n charged double for teeth cleaning n removing sores my type dog gets. Then that vet suggested steriods for other problem n made sores immediately grow back! So we stopped seeing him n went back to trusted vet we knew! Also, first time in dog very afraid of vets as bad experience before we got him n abused animal, but Mr. Bajwa has been awesome when dealing with him n much easier now thankfully! We are VERY happy with and grateful to Surrey Animal Hospital and several of our friends have gone there n had good results as well! RID: 50700

3/11/14   1     1     1     1   This animal hospital is a disgrace. They are only out to make money. They charge a $20 "consultation fee" even though all they have done is look at the pet (literally, without touching). Also, my cat had an eye infection and Dr. Peter barged into the room and dumped my kitten out of her cage (she was very scared) and roughly put some red dye in both her eyes (not even telling me what he was doing) and then charged me another $20 for an "eye check". All together I spent over $100 just to get some eye drops for my cats eye infection (which I already knew she had). The doctors will do all these things without telling you and then charge you an arm and a leg for those things. At the end, you have no choice because they've already done without telling you and added to your bill. Cant even understand their english. Poor treatment of animals, very rough. All they want is your money, no compassion. If you love your animals, STAY AWAY from this vet. RID: 50435

3/5/14   5     5     5     5   My experience with this Vet has been the best of any. I have a 1 1/2 year old lab that needed emergency surgery that I couldn't afford. Had it not been for this vet he would've been put down. The staff was tremendously helpful and advised me where I could go for funding towards his surgery. His surgery ended up being the same night I brought him in and regardless of how much money i could get donated towards it, they performed it anyways. I rounded up a small amount towards the surgery and with open hearts thy took on the rest of the cost, including medications. The staff were more than helpful, they were kind and compassionate and willing to help like no other vets i have had before. if it wasn't for the Surrey Animal hospital my dog would've not had the chance to live a full life. They have since checked up on my dog consistently to see how he is doing. I would recommend this vet to anyone. I will be forever grateful for the kindness they showed me and my dog. RID: 50333

1/4/14   5     5     5     5   i recently went in to have my beautiful blue shar-pei put down due to a heart problem that was looked at by two different vet clinics and they told me it was going to be a $5000 dollar surgery that i just could not afford so after thinking of everything and knowing that giving her up to even a free home wasent going to help that she would have a short life and it would cost money for whoever takes her. i took her in after her having a hard time breathing after exercise peter looked at her and saw that i was devastated and that my family was going to loses a beloved family dog over money i know that not everyone will do this and he did i have no way to thank this clinic for what they did i just want people to know that my dog is alive due to the kindness of this clinic lilly will live a long healthy life because of them dr abby did the surgery and is an amazing doctor thank you for what you did for us and lilly because she would not be here if it were not for what you did RID: 49080

8/2/13   3     3     4     4   I have been very happy with Dr. Virender at Surrey Animal Hospital. He demonstrated care, compassion, and expertise when I repeatedly took my dog friend who was near the end of her life. I do not know about the other veteranarians there, but would highly recommend Dr. Virender, and actually have been happier with him overall than with other veteranarians I have been to, including at a much more expensive clinic. My impression of him is that he is not only kind, but very honest, responsible, and competent. Thank you, Dr. Virender, for all you did for my sweet dog companion. I am sure she appreciated it.  3/20/13   1     1     1     1   Very very bad. I have worked in vet clinics before and have never knew such poor quality care existed. First I didn't think they were providing good enough care, let alone any care for my dog. So I started getting upset and more upset to the point I was fearful of them touching her at all. 9 hours after the accident not a thing had been done so I decided I'd take her to Langley. They refused me my dog back. Ping ponged between stories.. All over the place. I banged on the windows till 4am. One story was that there was no one on staff to remove an IV?? I Finally I came back with a big guy, barged in & took my dog, where their stories continued saying that if I moved her, she'd bleed out and not make it. I ended up taking her to Vancouver Emergency.. They had her for about an hour, she walked out of there on her own, bandaged up and they said that the wounds should have been sewn together in the first 8 hours. Now we're going to have a very long recovery. DON'T GO THERE!! RID: 41202

2/22/13   1     1     1     1   I had never been to this vet before, and I knew that it didn't have such a great reputation... but I was in desperate need of some help when my bearded dragon collapsed and seemed to stop breathing. I rushed to the closest vet I could find (knowing that the place I regularly go to didn't have any vets in that day). This one was the closest I could find and I was very un-happy with the experience. The only good thing that I was very thankful for was that they made an appointment for me with another vet that specializes in exotic pets (however they asked if they take "Dinosaurs", not reptiles...) I had to ask the vet 3 times to listen to her breathing because she wasn't breathing properly, the other people working there were taking pictures of my poor dragon because she was "cool", and were asking me what she was... I couldn't believe that these people were certified veterinarians. RID: 40638

2/19/13   1     1     1     1   Please Please do NOT take your pets here!!! I worked here and got nothing but bad traumatic experiences out of it. PLENTY of pets died on the surgery table due to lack of monitoring. Because they go through staff so quickly they end up hiring people off the street with no experience or training whatsoever. The place is terribly filthy, the doctors have absolutely NO compassion, they only are interested in your wallet. Just a DEATH TRAP! Beware please people!! RID: 40537

2/6/13   1     1     1     1   STAY AWAY. This place is disgusting and should be shut down, There was blood all over the waiting room tables, stains everywhere and it smells like a grooming room at petsmart, After waiting nearly 45 minutes for the vet to come in, he poked my animal ONCE and said i would need to do x-rays and blood tests costing me hundreds. We promptly left and took our animal to a much cleaner vet, he was quickly treated for NOTHING this vet diagnosed. This place is appalling, Its unclean and outdated , listen to your animal when the vet is near them here, your pet will cringe to get away from this guy! RID: 40226

11/27/12   1     1     1     1   I brought our puppy in to get her paw looked at. She had some kind of splinter wedged under her nail.while i was there i decided to get her nails trimmed.well this visit took 2.5 hours! Keep in mind that the gal at the counter said to me a couple of times I wonder whats taking the him so long bcuz its super dead in here tonight! The doc (east indian) decided that chatting it up in the back with the female co workers was more important. While trimming her nails, he messed up on 3 of them, cutting them way to short, blood everywhere. Once done w the nail trimming, the vet said i will go get some ointment for the pup`s paw and said i will b right back..he left the room...i sat there with a very stressed puppy for 20 mins waiting for him to come back. I was hearing laughter and giggling in the background..this whole visit, my pup had a muzzle on..i finally tore off her muzzle and walked to the reception desk..no one was around. They were all in the back chit chatting and laughing. RID: 38725

11/17/12   5     5     5     5   This clinic is the very first clinic I took my cat to. She had her kitten vaccinations here (they were very reasonably priced) and I didn't have to wait long. She was later spayed here with no problems at all. They kept her overnight with no complications. She recovered quickly. Later, I thought she had inhaled a pine needle, and the doctor took care of her well. I have also had them give her yearly vaccinations. They are the most reasonable clinic I have ever visited. It did not damage my pocket book, and I am so grateful. I have moved since then, and have visited other clinics. If you are on a budget and are looking for good quality care for your pet, I would recommend Surrey Animal Hospital. Thank you to the friendly wife of Dr. Peter. She is always smiling. Dr. Peter has gone out of his way to make appointments with me when my work only allows me so much time to get there. I appreciate their personal committment. RID: 38531

11/5/12   1     1     1     1   My 6lb Pomeranian ate two small grapes one night and I called this vet for advice. refused to tell me anything over the phone unless I brought my dog in. I refused and called another 24 Hr vet in Coquitlam. They told me everything. This vet was closer so I took him. The facility was EXTREMELY dirty and smelled of urine so badly I did not want to leave my dog there. They quoted us $340 and would not touch dog (who was beginning to shake from poisoning) unless I signed this sheet, when I signed it their price skyrocketed to $600 with tests. Impossible to check on him over the phone. left him over night and they took the tests just before I picked him up and told me test results not ready until late night. Trying to get me to pay for another nights stay on the iv. They wrapped the gauze so tight his paw was HUGE when I got home! Also never called back with test results and when I called and asked they encouraged to come back for more tests. My dog is fine my vet asked for records. Nothin RID: 38298

9/1/12   2     2     4     4   This place is ok if you want to get flea treatment, deworming and vaccinations. I went to get my cat neutered and they claimed he had a temperature and an infection from eating a bird. I told them my cat has never been outside in his life and yet they kept going on and on about him eating a bird... So I left and went elsewhere and they said he was fine, did the neuter and said they get many new customers complaining about this place. The back area did not look clean and hard to understand any of the techs or most of the staff as well. Yes they are cheap but other vets in Newton that are way better and really not that much more.  3/13/12   5     2     4     5   Switched over for basic services like vaccinations, Sentinel, food, etc. This place is not pretty but the prices are very very reasonable. Will I be using this vet practice for serious emergency care and surgical services? No- I don't think so. But when the pup had an eye infection due to allergies the care was prompt and efficient and the charge was about 1/3 of what our former vet charged. I had them check the bill it was that shocking a difference. Gary the tech is amazing and could charm the fur off any dog. We will continue to use Surrey Animal hospital in the future. RID: 32874

12/27/11   1     1     2     2   To all the dogs out there ....RUN. Lost my dog here, took him home in a bag.The facility is dirty. My dog had stomach issues ,they took xrays and said he had backbone deteriation I asked so is the bone pinching a nerve is that why he is in pain?the reply was "something like that". They said my dog had hypothermia and they used cold soaking wet cloth to clean him up to wipe urine off his body( they let him lay in it). I belive they over medicated him, he could not even hold his head up when I went in. They did a blood test and the results were infection, but they were not sure where. Going to do ultra sound but my dog died during the night, got a call at 2:10am and was told he was dead.As we were crying and upset they started cleaning out the cage he was in( no compassion here. When asked what happened was told he was vomiting and had diarrhia tried to give oxygen and resesitate. Something fishy as he was too clean and tidy. I see only Dr Bajwa certificates not any of the other doctors. RID: 30074

10/17/11   1     1     1     1   Very unprofessional, we took our puppy for her first shots, deworming pill made her sick, was not advantage but revolution which does not work, rough with her, we had to wait until they finished their coffee, dirty and cluttered reception area, when we called to complain we were told too bad there are other vets out there RID: 28373

9/22/11   1     1     2     3   The facility itself is horrible. It is very dirty, and all records are kept in the reception area, in front of the counter. The staff is also very unprofessional, and in my opinion, equally untrustworthy. My dog hurt himself jumping, so I took him in. They x-rayed his leg, and said it was fine, that it just needed to be bandaged. But, the doctor also said to come back the next day, so we can get a specialist to look at it. So, we went back the next day, got x-rayed again, and the specialist said there was a tiny break. They bandaged up his leg again, as there was nothing that could be done about, aside from expensive surgery. And, for some reason, the x-ray on the second visit was more expensive than the first. Well, I eventually went to another hospital to get a second opinion, and requested my dog's records. Well, they conveniently lost all records pertaining to my dog, and what services, drugs, and such were given. It may be a cheaper hospital, but extremely unprofessional. Beware! RID: 27797

9/20/11   1     1     1     1   OMG! I would never take another pet here. All I can say is they killed our sweet little angel with overdose on the drugs. She was a healthy young female going in for a simple C-Section and they stopped her heart. When we seen what was going on in the surgery room, I wanted to throw up. It was like watching to amatures. "NEVER EVER had I ever seen such a site. I have been in many vets surgery rooms and watching as they due C-Sections. This was a horror show! We took our sweet baby home and send her to the lab for a full autopsy. Like we knew, she was a healthy dog and the conclusion was just what we thought. "God Rest In Peace Little Chiclet...Will never forgive myself for putting you in their hands. RID: 27732

7/10/11   1     1     1     1   Awful place, quoted me $210, bill came to $400. Refused to give my dog antibiotics after her surgery. My dog fell off the table, stumbled into reception while heavily sedated with IV still in her arm. My boyfriend picked her up as there were no vets following her, and took her back in to the surgery area. He yelled at him to get out (while there was a little dog on the ground unconscious). My boyfriend placed my dog on a table in the waiting room and DR Bajwa told us to take the bandage off her arm. He handed me scissors, he then told me to take the IV out of her arm, so I did. I replaced the bandage myself. He also told me that her stitches in her mouth were dissolvible, but now 13 days later, they are still in her mouth. RID: 26127

6/29/11   5     2     3     4   Only reason I rated this a 5 for staff is because of their tech named Gary. He is so knowledgeable and caring for your animals. I have a huge rottweiller, who is too aggressive for normal vets and techs to handle, Gary slowly talked to him and was able to handle his WITHOUT a muzzle. That sold it for me. He also has extensive knowledge about the different dog breeds. Also the girls at front are just teenagers who can barely speak english. By the way Gary is also still a teenager but he knows what he is doing, you'll know who he is when he handles your pets. RID: 25892

6/9/11   2     2     2     5   I wonder how many ppl realise this 24HR Surrey Animal Hospital is the SAME one as Surrey Animal hospital only without the 24! Two different names for reviews.I have mixed fellings at this point.Dr Peter treated my last dog and saved me lots of $$ compared to Allondale Vet.With her he was fantastic however with my new puppy I'm concerned. The last visit I noticed dried blood on the floor that had been there for a while. The place was very dirty.Teenagers are running the front and seem to be clueless.Very difficult to understand Dr.and now I find out she was not immunized for Kennel cough properly! Injection is 2 stage and yet when we went back for her 3rd set of shots she did not get a boost.Boosts should be 4 wks apart and today I found out this info(10 weeks later)so I have been advised to start all over from the SPCA.I did not deal with Dr Bajwa this time and in future should I go there I will only deal with him.Immunization=cheap but for serious issues I'm not so sure anymore..  5/17/11   1     1     2     1   I decided to try this place out cause it offered cheap vaccination and I wanted to get leukemia and rabies done all together. I called twice and made sure they can give me the basic Fvrcp for $18. when I got there, reception said it's $28 cause its a "4-way" vaccination. I asked her what's the difference between the $18 and the $28 one, and her exact word was, "I have no idea"...so then I ask the vet, and whether it's necessary to get everything when I have an indoor cat he was like, "it's good to get everything..." and didn't even answer my question. when I asked how much it was, he "ummed" & "uhhed" then went out to ask the reception girl. I had to hold my cat myself for the shots (which was planted on his back) and the poor thing twitched and meowed when the shots went in...he never did this at the former vet. I got all the shots, core & non-core at once. Both Reception & vet are unprofessional. Esp the reception who answered even basic questions ie "what is Fvrcp" with I dont know RID: 25067

4/28/11   5     5     5     5   OMG after reading bad reviews about dr.bajwa i am ashamed to you all for insulting a saint! i am from nanaimo,bc,Canada and i am proud to say im his customer! when all the stupid vets in nanaimo are asleep i took a ferry to surrey and saved my dog! my dog had something stuck in his stomach and i went to departure bay vet but they thought it was a bloat and said the dog wont make it at all it will cost 25,000 to help him, i decided to go to a good saint in surrey and his name was dr. bajwa and after i took my dog there and he was having a surgery, while other vets say he wont make it, it will cost you money to put him down. After a long surgery my dog survived!! i am thankful and grateful to dr.bajwa that he saved my dog, because if he want saved i would not have lived either. Whenever i go to surrey, i go to the animal hospital because its not a hospital its like a temple for my dogs where the real god saved my dog RID: 24667
Click to report rating    2/10/11   1     1     1     1   I second the sentiments of below!!!Why is he still passing himself off as an animal doctor??? Where is the BCVMA and do they NOT have any control over their members? "Dr."(?)B now has at least 3 clinics thanks to the suffering of animals + bilking of unsuspecting clients. As an animal rescuer, I was FORCED (needed assistance from registered societies who would insist ONLY this animal hospital for any treatment, believe they have an account set up there) to take a couple homeless injured stray animals there over the years. With a cat which I thought was hit by a car the 1st thing P.B. wanted to do was teeth cleaning! $350 later he declared "no broken bones". With an old limping dog, he wanted to do Xrays. I agreed. Could hear this poor dog screaming+screaming non stop for 10 mins. in back room, him and another man were roughly trying to hold hurt dog down without sedation to Xray. The yelping sounds stills haunts me, along with the guilt for allowing him to touch defenseless animals. RID: 22727
Click to report rating    1/1/11   1     1     1     1   I took my cat there many times before last year and had no problems,But since there are new owners.I toke my cat there last year to get xrayed and blood work done,The vet diagnosed my cat wrong and charged me deeply. telling me she had veline aids.Well the day she died i rushed her to Mainland emergency and the vet there told me and showed me exactly what was wrong(only to late then)she had bleed internally,no feline aids.I then phoned Surrey animal Hospital and told the vet he will not be getting the rest of the money from me and also that i will be taking him to court, well the court thing has not happened yet but it will. He caused me to lose a part of my life and i will never forget that.I plan on sueing him and to have that place closed down. RID: 21712
Click to report rating    12/26/10   1     1     1     2   We have a dog that got an abses on her side the size of a baseball. We went there to get it diagnosed for $20. The front staff were not professional and could hardly speak English. We got into the waiting room and discovered these threads on my phone while waiting and the poor reviews they had. This made us very nervous while waiting for the vet to come in. He immediately shaved the area and ran to the back mumbling something. He returned with a needle. With knowing the past bad reviews we decided not to stop what he was doing. We didn't like how he never asked if he could go ahead with this and he was assuming we were going to leave her overnight here sedated. We then took her to the Langley emergency hospital. They were amazing and helped us in a comfortable and professional manner. RID: 21598

Click to report rating    12/6/10   1     1     1     1   When we first got our animals we took them there and found that the vet was both cold and uninterested and we could hardly understand a word he said. The last straw though was when our chihuahua had a seizure in the middle of the night. We rushed him there and I had to beg them to give him a injection to call him down, and then he had to be left overnight for some tests. The next day we were told we could go pick him up and when I asked about the seizure, the vet didn't know what I was talking about and had to read the file. He then kept us waiting another 30 minutes before releasing our dog to us. but first he had to ask the receptionist (in front of other people) if we payed the bill! Yes, we paid the $600 pill for them doing nothing for Cyco, and not being able to tell us why he had the seizure. They're answer was if it happens again, bring him back...ya for another $600???? NOT! Since then I go to Dr Bassi by the Newton Save On. There's also a 24 hr clinic on Fraser Highway. RID: 21287

Click to report rating    11/25/10   1     1     1     1   I took my 2 kittens there to be neutered and vacinated as per an advertised rate. I collected him to find his white fur was yellow- he had been sitting in urine. When i took him back to get the stitches out, the poor dog who is usually so calm, whined even approaching the front door of the vets. I shall NEVER take either of my dogs there again. RID: 20882

How long the vet has been in business for, they both just said "along time". Me and my husband got such a weird vibe, they were so clueless. Once in the exam room, DR VASSER came in. He looked at my puppy and told us that the second eye had come out, and that it would need to be operated on and that I would have to go to another vet as they didn't perform this operation and it would cost 1000. He put a cone on her head and tried to charge us 180. We looked it up on youtube and popped back in our selves WISH I SAW THE REVIEWS!!! PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Click to report rating    11/1/10   1     1     1     1   About a couple weeks ago my 3 dogs and 2 cats started having scabs on their bodys and patches of their fur would fall off. I took all animals there and the doctor said it looked like a fungal infection and gave me this bottle of medication which cost me $80 and said the cats and dogs all take it. He didn't do any sort of blood work, or skin scraping to see what it was. He gave me ONE bottle with ONE syringe and told me how much to give each animal. The bottle was not even sterilized it had a ripped label from something else and they put another label over it after my friend questioned it. I didnt think that all these little things could be bad until now. .... The vet also didnt tell me that the fungal medication that he gave me could be extremely harmful to my dogs/cats livers. I had found out all this information this morning when my gf took her dog (which lives with us and has it as well) to another vet. RID: 20600

After check up doctor Bajva said he needs to stay overnight for observation. The staff was very rude when I tried to question what went wrong during surgery and same was doctor! They all are very unprofessional and I suspect that my cat was neutered by simple surgery and not laser (and still we were charged double for laser)that's why he was bleeding so much! Click to report rating    4/23/10   1     1     1     1   The Monetary value of this vet is absolutly nothing. Took my cat to get neutered. My cat got an infection, and we had to take him back. They kept him for a few days, and he only seemed to be getting worse, and they wanted to charge us all this money to run tests, when I could clearly see that he had gotten gangrene on his surgical site. We asked if we could take him to another vet for a second opinion, and he told us it wasn't necessary and it was just going to cost us more money that we clearly didn't have. We took our cat to another vet, and not only did he have gangrene on his nether regions but he also had what appeared to be burn marks on his face, like he had been in an electrical cage. I was floored, and my new vet and I made complaints to the Vet. Associations. It took three weeks of my cat staying at a different vet, and three thousand dollars later ( the new vet felt bad for what we were going to and discounted us big time) before we were finally able to bring him home. Click to report rating    1/5/10   1     1     1     1   It was a night time emergency. They wanted $250. I only had $200 immediately available. They were neither willing to wait until morning, nor accept my father’s credit card over the phone, to make up the difference. Worst of all, they never gave me the option to pay for what was urgent, and delay until morning what was not. Instead they sent me on a wild goose chase to a closed SPCA that wasn’t even a hospital. I sped back to S.A.H. By the time I got there, my cat was struggling to breathe. The vet reluctantly started an IV drip. I watched my cat struggle to breathe for so long. Then it started to work. He still had a chance, until the vet lied: Claiming that he was stable, the vet “recommended” that I take him to another vet. He stopped the drip, and a minute later my cat was dead. The owner watched like a vulture while my payment went through, and looked positively triumphant when it did. I will regret, forever, taking my much loved companion to Surrey Anima RID: 16014

After being outside with me all day she threw up that night once and seemed to be breathing strange.I took her to the vet around 12am. The vet (someone I had never seen before) barely examined her. Gave me two different stories about temperatures of dogs and did not seem knowledgible. He told me she needed to be sedated and was terribly dehydrated and need and IV and stay overnight as she could have kidney or internal failures. I was scared but I knew she had been eating and drinking normally all day so no way she was dehydrated.I told him I would come back in the morning.I did not sleep that night as I watched her constantly. She was perfectly fine. I was pretty mad and stewed on it for months. He was within a few days maximum of succumbing to it when he was finally properly diagnosed. We seriously considered legal action but decided against it due to the cost involved, or we would have. And count how many times they tell you your pet needs teeth pulled. One customer I know had 2 of her dog's teeth pulled while he was there for a nail trim, and she had no idea until she picked him up and the bill was over $400.  1/11/09   1     1     2     1   Unbelievably unprofessional & rude! Does not return calls when told to call, talks with others in native tongue as if you or pet's not even there while tending to us. RID: 11147
Click to report rating    11/24/08   1     1     1     1   Have taken several pets (cats, dogs) due to unforeseen circumstances to Surrey Animal Hospital and each time disappointed and disgust. Kittens, half grown kittens in small cage by window WITHOUT food, water at times to attract ppl, like a storefront display. Smells unclean throughout. Long wait. Vet, Dr. P. B. may walk off without warning while examining animal or talking with you. ??? Standing there waiting and confused. With every visit, no matter what the health reason or emergency, 1st thing he says the pet needs is "teeth-cleaning", instant cash cow for them. Despite the supposedly "lower" prices, you end up paying MORE and your pet endures MORE than needed with riskes. RID: 10692
Click to report rating    10/10/08   4     2     3     4   Despite the reviews, decided to take my dog in for an anal gland expression. Dr Bra seemed very knowledgable explaining the function of the gland and why dogs today need it done. The price of $19 seemed competitive. But, for annual checkups, I'll either drive out to my old vet (VAW) or find one in the area without animal hospital in the name. RID: 10268

6/9/08   1     1     1     1   After three days of being in the hosital on intervenus & other medication, my cat was allowed to escape thru what must have been three doors to the outside and never seen again. No one seemed to know just how he got out. They reluctantly, finaly said they would return the $433.75 I had paid for his care but refused to pay the $160.00 I had requested to help cover the cost of another pet.My cat was my love and companion. The attitude was uncaring. THe woman I spoke with was isisting that I could take one of their cats or dogs and if I didn't settle for the lower amount mentioned, right then,I would receive nothing as she was agravated with me.I refused accept the offer as taking any money would dampen my chances of eventuly having them pay for another cat.The Dr.Peter, who is the owner, was no where in sight. I would recommend that no one take their animal to this hospital as it seems money means more to them then the animals. RID: 8810
