My experience with this veterinary was not a good one. I was never satisfied with them but stayed out of convenience. When the time came to euthanize my beautiful 13 year old chocolate Labrador, this experience has haunted me for quite sometime. Seven months after the fact, I am finally able to share my story. First off, the day of, we had to wait to be brought into a private room, which was pure torture. Then the acting veterinarian was dismal, I found him to be scientific instead of compassionate. I was told my dog wouldn't be able to hear us talk to her during this process. This vet decides to tell us this at the most distressing moment, regardless we whispered loving words anyway. When my beloved girl died, the doctor checked her chest and told us she has no heartbeat. I was repulsed! Perhaps a more humane choice of words could have been "She has expired" or "She is no longer in pain" would have offered some worthy solace. I would not endorse this veterinary clinic to anyone.

I go out of my way to go to Stouffville Vet Clinic, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. My sister goes even farther out of her way to have Dr. Paul treat her cat - she lives in Bloor West Village! Dr. Paul is the absolute best. He is so patient and explains everything so well. And he is so calm and caring with my pets, even my very cranky cat Riley, who really does not like, well...anybody. Once when Dr. Paul was on vacation, Dr. Gerry came to Riley's rescue in an emergency where he almost died because part of his intestines became necrotic. That was four years ago, and Riley is as spunky and cranky as ever. Their whole team is great, and their prices are some of the most reasonable in the GTA (my sister is just one of many who travel up from Toronto to take their pets to SVC). I like that they give you the pros and cons (and likelihood of success) of various treatments before going ahead... they don't just play on your emotions to get you to pay for a lot of unnecessary tests.

I had taken my cat in due to a yeast infection. I informed that I DID NOT want a full exam yet I was charged for a full exam any ways. After I told them I was out of work for 2 years. $164.80 later and I could have used white vinegar for free. Horrible as I was a client for the last 5 years. I will not be returning to that Vet again. I brought so many customers to that Vet, and I will be explaining and hope that they will chose a different Vet. Hesitate going to this Vet I sure that it will not be there for much longer with scams and over charging. If you have tons of money and you don't have to worry if the bill is hundreds for a basic service then this is a great place to go.

I came to this clinic for a second opinion on some dental work. Dr. Kilroy was straightforward, helpful and practical in her suggestions. At no time did she play on my emotions or have me feel guilty in any way. She gave me a clear understanding of my cat's condition, clear instructions for home care and she laid out my treatment options in a way that--at no time--made me feel that the most expensive option would show that I loved my cat more! The staff were simply lovely. I did wait a bit, but I took that as a sign that the vet was giving her full attention to her patients :-) and I was correct. My cat was completely calm at the clinic and Dr. Kilroy was extremely gentle with him. What a wonderful experience for both my cat and myself.

FINALLY an HONEST vetrinary clinic. The service here is fantastic, the staff were very polite and professional. They are knowledgable and always make themseleves available if you have questions. I had a terrible experience with a vet in the GTA and called Dr. Thomson to 'talk things out' because I felt completely lost and helpless. He made time to call me personally and was sooo helpful on the phone. I couldnt be more greatful. I trust his opinion, he is pragmatic and VERY experienced. If your pet is ill, chances are he has seen something similar before and has first hand experience to fall back on. Dr. Thomson only recommends treatment if it is needed and keeps your finances in mind! A+++

we have been going to this clinic for many years with our cats and now our dog. thers no way we,d consider changing vets.like the other person wrote the thay time with you and show concern for the animal.

I absolutely agree with the first review - the clinic is a wonderful vet clinic, full of caring, compassionate people. After taking our 12 year old cat to a downtown Toronto clinic and having a terrible experience there, we made the drive up to Stouffville to this clinic instead. Dr. Thomson gave us a lot of time and never made us feel rushed. He asked a lot of questions about our cat to try and identify the main problems, and helped us to fully understand what was going on and our options. Our cat's prognosis wasn't good, but the kindness and professionalism of Dr. Thomson and his staff truly made us feel like they had our pet's best interests at heart and was the one bright spot of a very difficult visit. When we get another pet, we will be taking him or her to the Stouffville Vet Clinic and I highly recommend this clinic to other pet owners.

This clinic was superb, after having a horrible experience at another clinic the day before. Dr. Westermann was very detailed in all his explainations and took a whole hour with us to ensure that we understood everything before we walked out. He didn't rush us and asked many questions to try to find the cause of my kitten's illness vs. just giving us meds and have us out the door. He is definitely in it for the love of animals vs. just for the money. He was very compassionate, professional and knowledgeable. I very much liked how he took the time to answer all my questions and concerns. Most definitely recommend this clinic.
