VCA took over the Davis Animal Hospital and all care went downhill. Our pets were clients for over 21 years, however, since VCA buyout, prices went up, doctors changed and computer files were mixed up. One is not told what tests the pet is having for a normal check up, instead a huge bill is presented at check out. Yesterday our 10 yrs old dog's Heartguard Plus prescription refill was held "hostage", unless we agreed to bring her in for a check up, not due till 2012...Staff was short and supervisor accussed us of wanting to "damage" our pet. If you love your pets and they are part of your family, as ours are, find a vet with a heart, not VCA Animal Hospital, that has an agenda for profit.

The care my cat received when she was sick with cancer was excellent. The doctor always called me back within a little while. They kept her happy and comfortable for months. The staff knew the sound of my voice when I called and were kind and prompt when we came in. They are a lttle more expensive then other vets around but in this case you get what you pay for! I've been to a lot of vets in this area and this one makes me feel that my pets and I are taken care of more then anywhere else.

I came to get a rabies shot for my dogs - both of them already registered with the vet, not new patients or anything like that. The whole thing took all of 5 minutes, most of which was the weighing of the dogs. For this they charged me $230. Apparently, each dog had been given an "examination" by the vet for $76 each. This examination consisted of saying how cute they were, what good girls they were and then patting them on the head. My vet's name was Ziman. But the problem is the company itself - they're rip off merchants. Always trying to foist extra treatments, always spinning scare stories about all the risks out there, and charging more than a Beverly Hills Dentist. So glad I'll never be going there again.
