Do NOT recommend! AT ALL. Dr. Kodsy does not care about his business, his attendance at said business, or the mental wellbeing of his staff. I speak from experience. Dr Kodsy is kind when he wants you to see that, but behind closed doors, he is aggressive in nature and is quick to anger, with staff AND pets. He is quick to put responsibilities solely on his support staff that he absolutely should be assisting with, and also, is not present for 90% of dental procedures. He will sit in his office with the door closed while your baby is cared for by his AMAZING support staff, unless extractions are required.. he will then emerge to do that, and leave the rest to his Tech/Asst. Dr Kodsy made me want to quit the veterinary industry after a very short amount of time.. If that doesn’t say something about his character… honestly, for what he’s charging to do half ass exams (since owners can’t come in due to COVID) - do yourself/your fur baby a favour, and avoid this place with a 300ft pole.

Dr Kodsey and his entire staff are exceptional!!It is not easy to leave a loved one in someone else’s care(our fur babies are family too). We are always welcomed by warm, friendly smiling faces and treated with outstanding professionalism. Thank you, yet again, for taking such good care of our tiny Miss Deelilah. ????

Went to take my new puppy to the vet for his primary checkup. I was a bit nervous about how he was doing. However, after witnessing the absolutely outstanding quality of pet care at Morningstar under Dr. Kodsy, all my anxieties went away. The staff were incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Because of COVID, we weren't allowed to go inside. However, the staff came out to us. They took time to explain every detail, no matter how minor it seemed. They were very gentle and kind with my dog. The appointment took a third of the time it takes in other places I've seen. After this checkup, I am confident that my dog is in good hands. Super job! Highly recommend them

Took my rottweiler Mia here. Best vet I've ever been too. They weren't scared if her and gave her lots of treats and love and care. She had knee surgery, and gave her lots of TLC and they are very good at following up after. Overall amazing will never take my animals anywhere else!!!

I wish I went to this vet when my dog was a puppy. If I could give a higher rating I would. Even though my dog is at the end of his life, the staff and Dr.Kodsy treated me like I've been going there for years. The Doctor took his time to explain carefully the issues my dog has, and very objectively, compationately and without judgement told me the options available. He explained the costs I may have if going ahead and told me there is no wrong way to go. He said he could tell I've been a great Mom to my dog and whatever my family decides to do is the right decision. At such a sad time for us, it's nice to know we have such a great vet in Whitby. That's where we'll go when it's our much loved dog's time, and with any future pets.I've never experienced a vet who I feel truly cares about my dog and my relationship with him.Thank you Dr. Kodsy.

The team is very nice and welcoming. Dr. Rafik Kodsy is very knowledgeable and explains the medical case of pets clearly and professianly and spends a good amount of time with the pet. The prices are reasonable and I highly recommend Dr. Kodsy and Morningstar Pet Hospital.

I was referred to Morningstar Pet Hospital by a friend who was a volunteer at the Humane Society. I needed a vet who would come to my home to euthanize my 15 year old golden retriever. My dog was unable to walk and we were unable to get him in the car without causing him a tremendous amount of pain and discomfort. He did not like going to the vet and became extremely agitated when I would take him there. I did not want to upset my dog on this day and wanted the process to be peaceful and dignified. The vet that I had been using for many years would NOT come to my home. Dr Kodsy came to my home and examined my dog. He said it definitely was time and was able to euthanize Parker in a very kind and humane manner. I was very grateful for his flexibility in coming to my home and also for his gentle manner. I now take my senior dog(13) and cat(17) to him and have been very happy with all services provided. He is very informative and compassionate. I would highly recommend Dr Kod

Every experience I have had with Dr. Kodsy has been excellent. He is kind and gentle with my cats. You can see he truly loves animals. His staff is also very professional and kind. The facility is very clean. Today I met two new members of the team, Pearl and Cassie who more than exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend the Morningstar Pet Hospital to anyone looking for a vet.

We have been going to Dr. Kodsy's Clinic since he opened. He is always so kind to our cats. He is very loving, which is so nice to see. They will call after a visit to make sure the kitty is doing ok after the visit, even if just a check up. They go the extra mile. Thank you Dr. Kodsy & Cyndi for taking care of Dallas & Denver.

I brought my puppy in for her 3 month shots and check up. I noticed immediately how clean the facility was. The staff was welcoming and Dr. Kodsy was very friendly, and allowed my puppy to smoother him with kisses (she's a very friendly dog). He gave me loads of tips in training and tending to my puppy's needs. He was gentle with her and talked me through the examination and explained what each of the vaccinations he would be providing her with entailed. Thanks so much for taking such good care of my little one I will definitely be back and I highly recommend the clinic.

Dr. Kodsy is a fantastic vet - he is warm and caring, and helps us understand what is going on with our animals and what our options are. We did check out several other vets in Oshawa prior to finding Morningstar Vet, and now will never go anywhere else. He has looked after our cats and our dogs, and they are all healthy and happy thanks to this clinic and their staff. We would highly recommend this clinic. Thank you Morningstar Veterinarian Clinic!

I am not sure how I have never heard of how great Morningstar Pet Hospital is. I have taken my cats to other clinics in the area and the experiences were nothing like Morningstar. Dr. Kodsy's RVT's are so friendly, extremely well educated, and they explain everything and costs before going ahead. And Dr Kodsy is the nicest, most caring vet! I was also surprised how clean the waiting room was (the exam rooms too) and will definitely be going back!

Rafik and his staff provide excellent care for your pet and very useful information to pet owners. They treat your pet as if it were their own. I would not take my dog anywhere else. They are truly passionate and compassionate people. Who knew going to the vet could be such a positive experience for you and your pet?

I took my dogs to Dr Kodsy for the first 2 years that he was open. I have nothing but fabulous things to say about his care with my dogs and compassion for me. My dog with Kidney Disease lived much longer than anyone would have expected because of the research and care he took with him. If his clinic were closer, I would have continued to visit. Absolutely fabulous man and Veterinarian.

This is probably the best clinic in the Durham Region. I feel great about taking my dog there. It's a beautiful office with very fair fees. Dr. Kodsey is thorough and so caring. His staff is excellent.

We were new to the area and we were looking for a vet with a personal, friendly, professional way of providing great health care. Dr. KODSY was suggested to me by someone. I had visited many other clinics bUT was not satisfied by the bedside manner. Dr. KODSY has a friendly , gentle but commanding demeanor with my fur babies. He is knowledgeable, friendly, caring and very helpful. I am definitely glad I found Morningstar Pet Hospital. I love this clinic...but more importantly my dogs love going there.

We can't say enough great things about Dr. Kodsy and his staff at this clinic. It is very obvious from the first time you meet him that he absolutely loves animals. I suppose all vets do (or should) but with him, it's obvious. His staff are wonderful. They are always able to see our fur baby when she's sick. They call you for follow-up a day or two later to see how things are going. We've seen other vets with previous dogs and while they were good, they were not amazing. We recommend pets (and their parents!) to this clinic all the time.

He is very thorough, detailed & always willing to provide alternative options to save $. Dr. Kodsy is the best veterinarian I have ever known. He performed emergency surgery on my sweet dog Roo and literally saved her life and kept her heart from failing. He never hesitates to answer questions and provide you with as much information as possible, he explains things and helps you understand a situation with ease, facilitating educated decision making. He is personable and makes you feel at ease when your pet is in his care, he is knowledgeable and provides suggestions to aid in your pets wellbeing. He handles an emergency with a calm demeanor that reassures even the most frantic pet owner. He never pressures you to spend money where it is not warranted, and will be honest and explanatory when you ask for his opinion or recommendations. He truly understands what it is to be a pet owner, and empathizes. We also went to Dr. Kodsy when our late ShihTzu was ill, and he was phenomenal with his care and he was also there to support us when he passed. The RVT's are also phenomenal.

Both Dr.Klodsy and his staff were exceptional and very professional. I have never seen a vet tech be so hands on and thorough. Dr.Klodsy was great at giving options for treatment that needed to be done now, and options for longer term. The facilities were clean. I'm really glad I found this vet.

I have two puppies that I take to this vet. They have been very good and honest without pushing extra treatments on us. When Karter was neutered he had an allergic reaction to a cream and Dr. Kodzi showed great concern and took extra care in calling for a few days to check on him. They also have put the allergy on Thalia's file as they are siblings and want to avoid the same reaction for her. Their customer service and follow up is top notch. They have shown a genuine concern for the welfare of the pups and I am very pleased that I switched to Morningstar when we got the new puppies. You know the dogs are in good hands when they get excited to go to the vets office.

We have been taking our dog Baxter to the Morningstar Pet Hospital for a few years. The staff are extremely courteous, helpful and are wonderful with our dog. Dr. Kodsy is very thorough and provides a full and understandable explanation pertaining to the reason for our visit, testing required, results from the testing and recommended treatment. We have tried 3 different vet clinics in Whitby and this is by far the one I would rank highest.

A wonderful team that provides exceptional service!!! Dr. Kodsy and his team are very knowledgeable and will go out of there way to meet the needs of your pet. I had an emergency with my Dog, I was turned away by another Pet Hospital who said "they were full."It was after hours and Dr. Kodsy was there when I had no where else to go. I visit the clinic regularly having a diabetic dog, they really work with you and try to ensure you receive optimal care for your fur baby :)

We met Dr. Kodsy over 2 years ago, when we had to help our 20 year old cat, Daisy over the "Rainbow Bridge" He was so wonderful and compassionate, to come to our home at such a difficult time. Since then he has taken care of 3 more of our cats. Dr. Kodsy, Amy & Cindy are all wonderful to our cats. Dr. Kodsy spends time with a thorough assessment and explains things very well, giving us options, we never feel rushed! He is so wonderful with "our babies" who he knows are our family. In March 2014, he discovered our rescue cat Dallas had a diaphragmatic hernia and needed to be sent to TVEH in Scarborough for a major surgery. We have Dr. Kodsy to thank for helping Dallas get the treatment he needed and he is doing amazing now. We can't speak more highly of such a great person and vet. Amy and Cindy his vets techs are always so willing to help with anything and you know they love our pets as much as we do!!! Thank you for all you for our furbabies! If you want the best care for your dog then you need to go to Morningstar Pet Hospital in Whitby and see Dr. Kodsy and his staff. They are extremely warm, friendly, caring, knowledgeable, professional, and they take the time to educate you about your pet and how best to care for them. A huge plus for us is our beloved dog Jackson loves them all to death and gets excited when take him for a visit to see Dr. Kodsy and his staff. I brought my rabbit to Dr. Kodsy last week for a check-up. The tech was very sweet and good with her. And Dr. Kodsy was very thorough with the check-up and took his time going through everything. I knew she was healthy, but I have been paranoid ever since my last rabbit passed away from a parasite (diagnosed by Baker Animal Clinic, which I would not recommend to anyone) so I knew it would be a pretty basic check-up. His prices are very good compared to other clinics in the area. I will definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a vet in the Whitby area because of his prices and how caring and thorough he is.

Morningstar Pet Hospital should be the first place Whitby residents consider when looking for a vet to care for their four legged friends. I've taken our dog for almost a year now and it has been a very good experience. I've visited them on numerous occasions; ranging from normals visits for vaccinations to an emergency visit. Every time we've been treated with respect by Dr. Kodsy and courteous staff.

I work in Toronto so am unable to make weekday appointments. Was able to make a weekend appointment, which they cancelled the morning of. Because I had to reschedule, I had to send my boyfriend with my dog to the appointment, where they up sold him without telling him prices for anything. My appointment that usually costs around 120 for a usual check up and shots, ended up costing over 400.00. I will never be back.

I have had great luck in finding Morningstar Vet Clinic. Dr. Kodsy puts the patient first and his care is A1. He does thorough examinations, testing, and treatment. He answers all your questions regarding your pet. He discusses all testing results and forms a treatment plan suited to the findings of his examination. When you arrive you are met by caring and knowledgable staff .

I met Dr. Kodsy 5 years ago in an emergency situation he was thorough and caring. I had thought I would have to euthanize our family dog on Christmas Eve, Dr. Kodsy was able to provide an alternative and my dog had 3 more wonderful quality years. I will be forever grateful for this. As a breeder now I rely on the professionalism and quality of care for the adult dogs and the pups. Dr. Kodsy remains thorough on every visit, is able to explain options and alternatives, he listens to our concerns, he answers any questions we may have and spends the time to make us feel like we are making the best decisions for our pets. Dr. Kodsy puts the animals first and there is never any pressure. I have never left his practice feeling like I was not fully informed. I recently had a situation that required immediate care for my dog and Dr. Kodsy was able to squeeze us in, the care for my dog continued to be of the highest quality. I have highly recommended this clinic and will continue to recommend.

I can't say enough about this clinic. I have used the services of at least 10 clinics in the area over the last 15 years because of different types of animals, breeding programs and helping friends. This is by far the best vet in Durham region. Knowledgeable, compassionate to both patient and owner personally interested in his patient's well-being, flexible, always learning His fees are reasonable to the point of being comparatively cheap to other vets. His support staff is equally competent and compassionate. He will work with owners who believe in alternative diets and limited vaccine protocols and has made himself available after hours. He also provides home/mobile services...Truly exceptional.
