Click to report rating    1/14/11   1     1     1     1   A few months back I took my cat to LVMC because he was losing weight and having difficulty breathing. After the office visit they recommended $500 worth of blood tests and x-rays. We didn't have that much money so we managed to do $250 worth of tests with no results. The really short story? The cat continued to lose weight and finally went into respiratory arrest and we put him down. You know what was wrong with him? A broken tooth. We couldn't afford to have the tooth fixed, partially because of the $250 in unneeded tests. The vet *did* look in the cat's mouth - I watched him do it. Just this week our dog ripped off a nail. $43 for the office visit, $36 to bandage his foot and $25 for a plastic cone to go around his neck. No antibiotics were prescribed. Yup. Foot got infected. We called LVMC who wanted $84 for antibiotics and pain meds - after we pretty much refused they said they'd call in a prescription to the local drugstore, who charged $16 for the meds. RID: 22083

Click to report rating    10/9/10   1     2     1     1   They are most abusive, willing 2 make U feel the worst about your pet just 2 get your money.Took my pet not sure what is wrong, they wanted to make tests $1300, we decided to leave, they kept telling us your pet will die if you don’t treat her, they kept dropping the price every time we head towards the door-Friday night Since my wife was crying she believe them, although the dog was not that bad, So they got us with $565 just to tell us she needed a spade surgery or she will die within hours, to let her live they wanted $2900 -$3800, my wife wanted the dog to live, we told them we can’t afford it, they offered credit cards with 29% interest wow, We decided to leave and put the dog to sleep if needed, they started dropping the price again, still too high, they said if you leave this price is only valid if you do it now, tomorrow maybe much higher. The next day (dog is still fine) they asked $3500-$3900 Long story short, Waited for Monday went to a local vet for $320.00 dog is perfe RID: 20174
