My dog had bloat, a disease that happens quickly and kills most dogs very painfully without expensive surgery. I called a clinic I had been to many times. Dori Hertel, DVM, said she would put him to sleep, but made me wait for 6 hours before she would see the dog,and then did not put him to sleep, but sent him home with maalox supposedly in his stomach. He vomited clear water at home, proving to me she had not forced maalox into his stomach, and continued the painful downhill spiral. An emergency clinic finally ended my precious dog's pain 2 hours later by putting him to sleep for free, Ipaidlater. Hertel did this because I could not pay that day, which I had told her when I first called. I was not able to pay until the following week. While waiting I heard her telling other patient's owners about all the expensive surgery she wanted to do on their animals. This vet is in it for the money only. She should have refused to see the dog if she had no intention of ending his suffering.
