Click to report rating    3/26/19   5     5     5     5   The doctors and staff are so informative and accommodating of my and my pets needs. RID: 67832
Click to report rating    2/4/19   1     2     3     1   profit driven practice. overdiagnosed and overtreated my dogs on multiple occasions just for monetary gain. in the end when I questioned some proposed treatment the dr threatened to report me to spca. this clinic and doctors working in it are just malicious and unethical. RID: 67313
Click to report rating    10/3/17   1     2     2     1   All about the money and nothing to do with pet health. The front staff makes an effort but their inexperience is very obvious. RID: 64781
Click to report rating    4/28/17   5     5     5     5   Very impressed with the courtesy and knowledge of the technicians, who must be a great asset to the Vets. I have confidence in the skill and attention given to my dog at this facility, and will continue to visit them as the occasion arises. RID: 63478
Click to report rating    1/27/16   5     4     5     4   The staff and doctors were amazing, I felt that they gave my pet the attention it deserved, they used towels to allow my cat to hide under and a pheromone spray in the room. The helper seemed to really know how to handle cats. They shared the bloodwork that was done online and now I can see it anytime. The building is older but they have up to date equipment- an x-ray only took 5 minutes. It was a good value for the money I paid - the doctor called me twice afterwards and answered all my questions. Not to mention my cat is feeling much better. RID: 59606

11/5/14   5     5     4     4   I have taken my dog to this hospital on several occasions and have experienced nothing but courtesy and professionalism from the staff. Dr. Richter is excellent. I also understand from fellow patrons that her associate VET is also excellent. The technical staff perform their function well and ably answer questions I raised. Following treatment by the VET I experienced caring follow-up by telephone from the vet assistant. Record keeping of my pet was first class, and comforting to know that her health data was available for any future occasion. I found the fees consistent with other pet clinics, while being mindful that quality of care was uppermost. I was happy that I received a senior's discount on each and every visit. RID: 54478

Click to report rating    6/27/13   1     1     1     1   Worst Vet Clinic I have taken my pets to. They are all about greed and overcharging as much as they can. It is sad to see places take advantage of families who will do anything for their pets. Cold staff. RID: 43345
Click to report rating    6/20/13   5     5     5     5   Dr. Richter is absolutely amazing and is supported by equally amazing technicians and receptionists. We took our dog here today when our regular vet could not fit us in; Burnaby Vet was also fully booked but squeezed us in anyway. Dr. Richter is a kind, gentle and knowledgeable vet who took the time to explain our dog's injury and answer all of our questions. We received an estimate for his care and each service was explained fully by the technician. We asked for a dental estimate as well and Dr. Richter took the time to fully explore his mouth while he was sedated for treatment in order to provide us with the most accurate information possible. This estimate, along with the care instructions given upon our dog's discharge, were also fully explained. The receptionists were extremely personable and knowledgeable and made sure to ask us if we had any additional questions before leaving. I just moved to BC and will be making Burnaby Veterinary Hospital my new vet clinic. You should too! RID: 43242

Click to report rating    1/15/13   4     5     4     2   Very costly. Too much for a 5 minute check-up! Asked for meds for our cats ear infection, zoron did nothing. Had to go to another vet who proscibed and helped our cat. RID: 39629
Click to report rating    6/18/12   5     5     4     5   My poor girl (9 1/2 year old russian blue) needed a vet visit. Upon arrival the staff was kind and calm. The doctor was running behind (so was I). Dr. Richter was kind and gentle with my baby. The doctor suggested possible bloodwork tests, diet changes and supplements up front. There were no surprises. She gave me an exact estimate up front to confer with my boyfriend and then we decided to follow through on the bloodwork. Testing is done in house so 20 minutes later Dr.Richter explained her findings. The new diet food was in stock, as were the supplements. My baby girl actually slept last night. It was quite a relief. I couldn't be happier with the service and kindness of Dr. Richter and the Burnaby Vet Hospital facility. Thanks......and oh, thanks to your cat-call book, I renamed my baby girl a better and more suitable name. Thanks again for everything!!! RID: 35056
Click to report rating    5/16/12   1     3     5     4   I have been taking my pet to this clinic for the last few years. Dr. Richter is a hard - working physician who really cares about her patients. She patiently responds to all your questions and is always willing to work with you. However, the same can't be said about her staff. Particularly Debbie, who never listens to you whenever you are talking to her. She never smiles, instead gives you an unpleasant glare. You ask her a question and even before you've finished it. I am never happy when I have to talk to her when I'm there because I'm certain that she'll never get the job done right. I have no idea why she is still working at the clinic when it's obvious Dr. Richter is working so hard to make the place synonymous with good pet health care and service. RID: 34275
Click to report rating    3/22/12   5     5     5     5   My 6-year-old rescue dog is my first and only pet who means the world to me, so I'm super paranoid about making sure she has the best care and attention. And for that, the Burnaby Vet Hospital is awesome! I started bringing her to Dr. Richter back in 2009 when I first moved back to Vancouver and I haven't gone anywhere else since. In the last few years, I've taken her in for routine checkups, dental work and minor surgery...not to mention an emergency run to the clinic for anti-skunking supplies. Yes, it's true. There are some things my dog just refuses to figure out. :) Dr. Richter and her staff are great! They have been very helpful over the last few years, with accommodating schedules and fair prices. I'm very glad to have found them so soon after we moved here. RID: 33054
Click to report rating    11/30/11   2     3     2     3   Since dr McIntyre left this place has gone downhill. Dr Richer is lame and the new guy Zoran seemed untrustworthy to me. Overall vibe was bad! Not recommended! RID: 29475
Click to report rating    10/21/11   5     4     4     4   I have been using this Clinic for over 20 years, and have found both the Vets and staff to be caring - and provide excellent value. RID: 28488
12/28/10   1     5     1     1   Dr.Neil McIntyre at the Burnaby Veterinary Hospital saw two of our cats for a check-up. After charging us 70 for each cat, he literally took 20 seconds to look each over. That was the exam we paid for. After outlining our concerns (one kitty had scratched her eye, one had blood in his stool and specific symptoms). He charged us 20 dollars for a single eye drop (not needed) and then 120 for eye medication (the only thing I'm no sorry I paid for). He then took the temperature of my other cat's rear...then, literally ignoring our descriptions of the cats symptoms immediately prescribed revolution flea medication. I asked if it would kill all kinds of worms, as I was suspicious it was worms. He said YES, when it in fact doesn't. Our cat had no fleas and didn't have what the medicine took care of - a second professional opinion called the veterinary advice ridiculous with our description of symptoms. THANK YOU FOR OVERCHARGING, BEING AN HOUR AND A HALF LATE, AND PROLONGING MY CATS PAIN RID: 21625
Click to report rating    12/10/10   5     5     4     4   They provide excellent advice, with all the options and aren't pushy. Outstanding treatment of our dog, one of the only vets to act appropriately with a 120lb dog. RID: 21355
Click to report rating    11/23/10   5     5     5     5   I have been dealing with this vet for 20 years. They are like my pets extended family. Pet owners bare some responsibility to ask questions of the care givers to make sure their pet is going to be looked after properly. Be Proactive???. I have had nothing but good experiences with this Burnaby veterinary clinic. They consistently have given excellant service. Regards RID: 21027
Click to report rating    10/10/10   1     1     1     1   I visited this location for a grooming for my dog and we received the worst possible service. Not only did the groomer and Vet not contact us to indicate any concerns, but the groomer went ahead and groomed only half of my dog. She then contacted us to say that she could no longer finish the job. So, my dog looked like he was half groomed and they wanted to charge us for the whole service!!! We asked why they did not contact us if they did not think they were competent enough to do the job and they had no response. I was told they used a rabies pole on my dog to get him to stay, which they felt was humane but we were shocked to hear. If you love your pet, please do not bring your business here. My dog has been traumatized from this incident. RID: 20184
