Staff is decently competent; however they often run unnecessary tests and never justify why they are done - not even offer a quote before proceeding. After several years, I am fed up for being charged for things that are not necessary, including a prescription for a drug that is sold OTC at pharmacies! I have several of these examples, but not enough space here to vent them all.

I can't say enough good things about all the staff - they are a fantastic group of people! I'd been a client at the animal clnic on mutual street for 27 years..they almost killed my cat! I found the bay cat and dog hospital when she was going to die and they saved her. These people from the vet techs to the vets all show compassion, professionalism along with genuine care and friendliness. The prices are excellent and they will not try to force anything on you. They will lay out all the options for you but won't force you or make you feel bad about what you choose. All of them are readily available if you call or email. Right now my dog is dying of congestive heart failure. Never in my life would I have thought I'd get so much love from a group of people going through this and they're going through it with me. For the best care come to the bay!

Great place: all team members are very professional, doing always ''extra mile'', great communication even after hours, immediate assistance during emergencies we have had with our 3 cats. Very recommended!

So happy that I was recommended to go here! What a beautiful cat friendly facility with bright windows and separate from the dog hospital. The entire team always focus on preventive care. They always listen to my concerns and they discuss everything to me in a way that I understand. When I have had to leave my cat there they went over everything in a detailed manner so I knew what I could expect.Alsothey showed me the radiograph on an ipad and then emailed them and the lab results to me so I could have on hand. What an professional and compassionate hospital. 5 stars is NOT enough.

Overall, I was not very happy with my experience with the Bay Cat Hospital. While the staff was very nice, I was surprised by the uncertainty of the vet's diagnosis and the lack of self-confidence in her own abilities. However, I was most upset about them failing to honor a price quote for a fairly common procedure. I will not be going back.

I went to adopt a kitten with my children. My children were holding the kittens with no problems and the lady that was in there with us did not say my children could not pick up the kittens. Then in walk the manager who seem like she did not like my children try to say my 3 year old grab the kitten by the tale and that was not the case. My child went to pick up one of the kittens and she grab him and yell at him. If it wasn't for her that wouldn't of happen it was her fault why that happen.but I had to watch this lady grab and yell at my child and that was more heartbreaking then you can imagine. So if I was you don't take your children to this place or your pets. They do not know how to treat people

We've been going here with all our pets for years now and find them to be extremely professional, courtesy, friendly and knowledgeable. They're willing to take the time to answers questions and help.

Awful first (and last) experience. Customer service was indifferent at best. I was left alone in the exam room for 20 mins with no check-in or explanation as to the delay. I got fed up and walked out. I stopped at the front desk to say something on the way out but both ladies ignored me, so I kept walking. NEVER AGAIN.

I've been taking my cats here for over 20 years and Bay Cat Hospital is the best! They're compassionate, caring and extremely knowledgeable. I've had several cats with complicated and difficult illnesses and they provided all my treatment options with pros/cons and explained it very clearly so I could understand. They are amazing - they go above and beyond the call of duty, and their compassion and kindness during all sorts of illnesses and several goodbyes helped me cope and made it much less stressful on the cats as well as me. Dr. Herman is down to earth and realistic when it comes time to make treatment decisions, explaining pros and cons, and I know that she is always going to recommend what's best for my beloved cats. The other vets there as well as staff are amazing too. Dr. Herman also helps feral and abandoned cats.

I have been taking my cats to Bay Cat Hospital for 17 years (4 cats). Dr. Herman and her staff have been competent, humane and compassionate to both cats and humans from routine office visits, one major surgery (total ear ablation), and euthanasia. I highly recommend this facility!

This is a very good clinic. They've looked after my 2 asthmatic cats for about 5 years now. A bit expensive, although I'm not sure how they compare with other Toronto clinics because I haven't lived here for that long.

We've been taking our cats (seven in all, over time) to BCH for over ten years, and they've helped us through a whole gamut of health issues - diabetes, kidney disease, hyperthyroid, even cancer (not all the same cat!). All the staff are well-trained and professional, as well as caring and personable. Dr. Herman is greatly respected in the vet community, and her kindness and professionalism have helped us through some stressful times. The other doctors on staff are also very skilled and trustworthy. On top of everything, BCH works with local rescues to help find homes for unwanted cats and kittens. While their rates are sometimes a little higher than some other vet clinics, it should be remembered that they do provide free health care, boarding and spay/neutering for these rescued animals. We've found no better vet facility in the city than Bay Cat Hospital (and we tried quite a few).

I have been bringing my cats here for 10+ years for both awesome occasions as well as very sad ones.I love this place! Gabby Herman is awesome and her staff are excellent. I would hate to have to go elsewhere.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Took puppy in for a routine exam knowing he had worms. We brought in a fecal sample with an actual worm in it that looked like a tapeworm. Vet agreed and then gave us deworming medication that DOESN'T treat the worm they just said it was! Had to call back numerous times as we were very worried that it wasn't working. FINALLY the vet called us back and told us to give ANOTHER dose of the wrong deworming medication. Had to call back a few days later because it wasn't working! After numerous phone calls we finally got the right medication. After learning from MANY other clinics that the deworming medication initially given was incorrect, we called back to inquire. Vet couldn't give a straight answer. We will not be back due to the incompetency of this clinic. When we were worried about the cost of wrong dewormer we were told "it's not that expensive". The Vet should own up and offer us a refund for the wrong deworming medication.

Very professional and knowledgable about Cat health in general. When medical tests weren't conclusive they didn't 'make up' what they thought I wanted to hear and instead were honest suggesting that further testing might be required in Guelph. All employees are personalable and eager to provide responsible care. They've been very helpful, even on the phone, when I've called with questions... never made me feel that my questions lacked importance. My cat is almost 17 years old and is still active and happy thanks to their fabulous care!

They have been taking care of my cats and dogs for the past 10 years and always make time to deal with emergencies or to answer questions. The one drawback is that they are quite expensive.

Find that appointments are always late and staff seems very young and not that competent. Our dogs stiches came out immediately and this was not a priority for them to rectify and they charged us to fix this mistake. During a previous visit, a rountine procedure was unsuccessful and led to an infection. We won't be going bac!
