Click to report rating    7/24/13   2     2     3     2   My cat had an infection -- I brought him into the ER with what appeared to be a cold -- he's flat nosed and his tongue was out and couldn't breathe. He was also suffering from Kidney Disease. When i asked the ER doctor for Antibiotics -- her response was "No, he just looks sad -- he has a cold and it has to run it's course" The next morning I returned as a good Vet was working -- she immediately ordered a lung xray and i requested a full blood panel -- his white cell count was high (INFECTION) and he was dying -- his lungs showed infection. To compound matters, when he was in ICU, the same doctor who diagnosed him as a SAD, was again remiss -- my cat was expectorating mucus and needed his airway cleared -- she told me they were short staffed and he would have to wait because she had sedated another dog. Unacceptable. Had they caught the infection in time, he may have had a chance. His infection may have been remannts of a bladder infection which could have spread to the kidney. RID: 45830
