Have been to many clinics-this is one of the better ones. There is some vet turn-over but in general they are reasonable. Generally no pressure so not sure why people feel like there is upselling. Definitely know what that is like and experienced it a lot in downtown Toronto. I don't feel there is a lot of talking down to. The discussions are very balanced. Also have had a lot of experiences where vets guilt you into things. I tend to push back and ask about the different scenarios so I make the decisions based on trade-offs. I found the review about the possible obstruction interesting. The owner had all the decision power and did ultimately make the choice. I think it is responsible of the vet to offer everything from maximum intervention to watchful waiting. Unfortunately, unlike in people, the owners have to make medical decisions based on cost. If the vet didn't offer the most options and something went wrong then the owner would be upset. The original vet made the right call.

This is the absolute worst vet clinic EVERY!!!The care only about money and absolutely nothing else.
I took my dog in for a possible obstruction. They took two x-rays and did a cbc. All vital signs were normal, cbc was normal, x-rays showed absolutely NO obstruction (they showed them to me AND explained this), yet they wanted to keep him overnight at the tune of over $1500, put die in him, x-ray him again in the morning and then do a possible exploratory surgery. Really???
Even though he wasn't dehydrated and everything came back normal, they wanted to give him 3 bags of IV fluids (at $110/bag....for saline solution!! Salt water!!!), just under $100 for the IV catheter (the needle and tube), $69 for a pump to pump the IV (could use a drip???), and the list goes on. I told them I had a vet appointment with my vet in the morning and just got off the phone with him. He wanted me to have them give IV fluids for 1/2 hour (dog wasn't drinking) and he would see him in the morning.

Very overpriced. More expensive procedures favored. Staff often try to do simple procedures in the 'back'. Makes you wonder. Took me for a bundle.
