My vet is Dr Patty (Lechten). I've waited a bit to write this review because I didn't want it to be viewed as staged however I just decided to write and let others decide for themselves. Dr Patty has been my vet for Zippy my Boxer mix for about the last 1 1/2 years. Zippy has been to other vets before and I've never felt comfortable until getting care here. She gets spoiled and petted and leaves one happy camper which has never been the case elsewhere. Zippy is experiencing a medical condition that will eventually leave her incapacitated. She is on prednisone but its only a temporary fix til it isn't anymore. The care Zippy has received has been beyond anything I ever imagined from any veterinary establishment or individual. I put a 4 for punctuality only because I know from experience they do not rush you and if a few extra minutes are needed than they are there for you. She, her staff have always been extremely kind and generous to Zippy and I and I'll be eternally grateful. Thank yo

Definitely treated as a number with my pup. They book you an appointment but clearly take the surgery pets in first, so why give you an appointment and make you wait until all the surgery pets are inside first . They are far too busy now to accommodate every pet owner. I am always disappointed every visit because of this. Dont try to call and book an appointment, you will be on hold for hours too! They have taken on too many pets to be as caring as they used to be. I will be changing vets to a smaller facility.

I will NEVER go back to Allandale vet clinic. I took my very healthy and vocal guinea pig there to be neutered and he was
returned to me with a damaged back left leg which he is still not putting weight on after 4 days post surgery.They sent me home with no proper syringe to administer Critical Care although they charged me for the Critical Care. One out of 4 prefilled syringes with pain medication was expressed so useless. I was sent home with discharge instructions for a cat or dog. If I had followed those instructions my guinea pig would have starved to death. I was told twice that Dr. Poon would call me and he did not. I asked if he would send a prescription to a clinic within walking distance to us but he couldn't bother to do that. It costs over 60 dollars to take a cab to allendale and back. I am running out of space so I will close with saying the staff is inefficient, inconsiderate and unprofessional. This includes dr, poon.

I am working at this clinic and can get a big discount on food, medication, and treatment. Even so I would not bring my dog to here.

Best vet we have ever had! We take all our animals there including our Kunekune's and they are great with them. Some vets are better than others but that is always the case.

Hi my name is Kasino and I'm a pet that goes to the Allandale veterinary clinic. I was going to let my mom write this review but who would know better then myself who gets treated there. I had to have surgery on my knee so it wouldn't hurt me anymore. Doctor Singh was my doctor in charge of me and Doctor John did my surgery. I was scared but Dr. Singh reassured me that I would be ok and before I knew it was all over. I stayed over night and the staff was there for me and checking on me. The next day I went home. I've had my ups and downs but my mom received a call everyday from my vet doctor to make sure I was doing ok, they never turned away. The team at Allandale veterinary made me very comfortable all the time I was there. I was allowed to have my blanky and my stuffed animal. I could not be more thankful for the vet team for making my stay comfortable as possible and reassuring my mom all would be ok. Love you from the tip of my nose to the tip of my tail, mom says thank you too.

Dr. Lindsey Norman is the best vet that I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. She knows me, and more importantly, she knows my furbabies. I've never known her to "upsell" a service that my fur kids didn't need. She's caring, knowledgable and answers all my questions patiently. I would, and have, recommended her to all pet parents in the Barrie, On area.

Dr. Lechten and Allandale Veterinary Hospital have cared for our pets for almost 30 years and have always treated our four legged companions, as well as us, with the utmost professionalism, skill and caring. An office visit is always followed up by a phone call to check on a sick pet's progress. We currently drive 45 minutes each way in order to continue our pets' care with AVH. We consider them to be caring friends as well an important component in our pets' care and quality of life.

Had to put my dog down, they didn't use enough anaesthetic or didn't wait long enough for it to kick in and I felt him fight in my arms. I thought it was suppose to be painless! I had several people tell me about the cremation options at least 5x. I guess they didn't hear me the 1st time, or they are running through a script. At first I thought they cared... maybe they did. My boy was an extension of myself, I held him while I watched the dose go through the catheter and he fought it hard. Is that right? I thought it was suppose to be painless? But wait... what about your cremation options.

What a bunch of loonies. I just got a new pup that had been vaccinated there. I called to book the boosters and the staff, including the vet didn't know when or if the vaccines needed boosters. Very scarey. Every other clinic I called knew the answer to my question, except this clinic who gave the vaccine i the first place!! Huge red flag for me!

We have taken our pets here for the last 5 years and have experienced nothing but professional and caring service. Pricing is very reasonable and they are very personable. I recommend everyone I know to this clinic.

For 8 years this clinic "looked" after my Bichon's professional health needs. Due to skin allergies, they prescribed Prednizone and other steroids every summer for 4 years. Never once did they warn about the dangers of long term usage. At age 6 he developed cataracts. At age 8.5 he was diagnosed as "just getting old and overweight". 1 month later, another Vet diagnosed him with advanced Cushing's disease and we had to put him down. Thanks to "Allandale Veterinary Hospital" for all the caring and knowledgable advice....NOT! Do not use this vet. My name is John Egden and I certify this statement.

If you don't want to wait for ever for your appointment see another vet besides the owner she is always double booked and there is no personal contact with her she rushes you in and out after you wait past the appointment time.

Stay very clear of this vet, I took my dog there and she initially went in for a mastitis infection that needed to be drained/operated on. The vets were extremely reluctant about draining her mastitis and just wanted to keep her on antibiotics. She went in with one infected teet and when i seen her two days later she now had 2 infected teets. They also told me she is not a candidate for surgery or for it to be drained. After 2 days of her on IV the infections spread and i took her to a new vet who then did the initial surgery right away, she also developed a secondary infection due to the fact that surgery was not done right away on her breast,the infection got so bad she was on critical care for 10 days we did a blood transfusion plasma transfussion ran ppk on her u name it and she still died!!!... This whole thing could of been avoided if they lanced the infection and dranined it. IV antibiotics for this type of infection is not the answer you need to operate right away!

We have received excellent medical attention/care with each visit. Staff seem friendly and knowledgeable. They really have a heart for their patients and it shows! Personally, we wouldn't want to take our little terrier anywhere else. Driving time for us is about 45 minutes one way - it's worth it.

I would not take a Pet Rock to these people. My dog went in for relatively normal procedure and within a week had dropped 12 pounds, and due to neglect/incompetence had a raging infection, and had to be taken to another Vet for emergency treatment. During the week as we noticed the dog's decline we contacted the office for advise and each conversation started with the staff trying to get us to go to another Vet for treatment. Upon going back after seeing the emergency Vet, the Vet/owner of Allandale looked me in the eye and outright lied about three different topics. Will never go back again and advise other pet owners to do the same.

Allandale has helped me through some very tough surgeries needed for my dog. They have a professional, knowledgable and caring staff. They have always tried to cut costs where they could to help me out financially and not over charge for their services. I recommend this vet clinic to all my friends and family.

My husband & I have been taking our pets to Allandale for over 20 years. The owner is also our vet whom we love dearly. She kept our very first dog alive for almost 12 years. The dog had all sorts of weird blood disorders & our vet figured it all out which allowed our dog to live a happy prolonged life with us. The owner/vet gets very upset if we have to see other vets if she's off & we tell her they did this test & that test. She does NOT believe is us wasting our money on unnecessary tests & she never charges us for follow up visits for the same problem. Yes, the vet can get a little testy with her staff but, it's only because she cares about the quality of service that she provides to her patients & their owners. I highly recommend Allandale.

We have used Allandale for a few years and although the new location is nice, it doesn't make up for the complete incompetence of one of their vets. Twice now we've had to pay to take our dog to another vet to get proper treatment. The vet at Allandale had no idea about what he was doing and simply insisted on some that did nothing for the dog but, certainly were expensive. I loved getting spam email and telemarketing calls about my dead cat that they failed to help too. Icing on the cake.... Don't bother with Allandale unless you have a specific vet that you have experience with. Shameful waste of money.......

Unfortunatly we lost our beloved dog of 14 years yesterday. Allandale vet hospital was not only caring, the staff that have helped me in the last few years were also crying. To me that says alot, I have never felt so much compassion. Recommend this place to anyone that loves their pet, they will love them too!

Do not take your pets to this clinic. You will be waiting well past the time of your appointment and then you will be rushed through and out with an overpriced bill waiting. The veterinarian that I saw, also the hospital owner, was very cold and uninformative. What really unimpressed me was her poor treatment towards her staff. Many of the other staff were ignorant and rude not only to me but also to my pets. After being taken to thier "treatment" area my dog came back limping and with a bloody paw from a nail trim. Recommend against this clinic. Sure it looks nice but thats about it.
