even though I found there service adequate. I have to say that they are all about the money. I felt pressured to spend money that I dont have. A friend has also had the same experience, she to her pet in for emergency treatment, as she could not get into her own vet, as a result of refusing all the additional tests and costs, she had animal control offices on her doorstep. If you use this vet be very aware that refusal of services you may not be able to afford could cause problems. Do the hospitals run a bunch of tests when you go to emerg to get stiches not the last time I went, they fixed the problem an set me on my merry way. Just to be clear, this animal was healthy otherwise.

This place is amazing! Both our cats love coming here, and Dr. Andriy is very knowledgeable and friendly with a good sense of humor! Kind and friendly staff. I would recommend.

Sadly this clinic has gone down hill after Dr. Brown retired and sold his practise to Dr. A. At first I was pleased with Dr. A., but as soon as my pet got seriously ill, I felt that he took advantage. He grossly overcharged for meds, pushed for unwanted treatment and more. Without a doubt I was taken advantage of due to my pets terminal diagnosis. Aside from that, the staff are not pleasant, condescending and quite rude. It's a shame to see whats happened to Dr. Browns legacy.

Stay far far away from this clinic. Money grabbers & lack of compassion for your fur baby. It is all about sell, sell, sell. I agree with the other poster. I could write a book on the experience I have encountered lately and it is beyond sad when my little girl(dog) got sick. I felt so vulnerable and did everything to save her. I was taken advantage of. NOthing worse than to be holding your sick and scared fur baby in your arms while the vet keeps pushing all these tests and medications on you without proper explanation, and then keeps on getting you to sign the paperwork for the prices while you are in the examining room. RIP my little girl.Shame on you all!

Took my little dog for annual checkup, was concerned about her eyes, and ask Dr. A to check them. He dismissed my concern with "aging" He was more concerned with doing dental again this year after spending $2500.00 a year prior, cleaning and 2 extractions. Time to change Vets. Seems money is the motivator.

Unfortunately Dr Brown sold the clinic to Dr Andriy Prykhodko and I have never been so disgusted in his lack of care!! After many $$ spent, still no confirmed diagnosis, a very sick, dying dog. I had been told to come in before closing to be seen. As I was exiting the vehicle right in front of the office, Dr P saw me coming. It was 5:29 pm and I was carrying a very sick dog with me and he LOCKED the door, turned off the lights and hid (I still could see him through the window) After calling to advise I was on my way, this is the response I got. I had questioned the testing of the dog and asked why he wasn't testing for anything that was REALLY wrong. He couldn't comment. UNREAL!! I am sorry Dr Brown is no longer at this clinic as he was very well liked. I cannot fathom how DR P sleeps at night allowing a pet to suffer so badly. This is criminal!! Please refrain from using this clinic and spread the word!

There is a reason I have been going to this vet for over 10 years! Because they are awesome. The staff are amazing, the vets actually care about my cat and call to see how he is doing. Even though I live across the city, I will always go to this clinic. I have never experienced any issues with them, and even though I call them all the time about kitty, they are always so happy and willing to help me out!

We have taken our cats to Monterey Vet for several years. Dr. Brown and his staff are wonderful. They are very knowledgeable, attentive and take time to make sure we clearly understand the advice given or the procedure that needs to be done. They are professionals who really care about the animals and their owners. Recently one of my cats became ill. I will never forget the kindness of the staff shown to my pet as well as my Husband and myself, it meant so much to us. Dr. Brown was able to give us more time with our cat and we are so grateful for that. When we had to let her go the compassion shown to my kitty and to us was extraordinary. I am so touched by their kindness. I trust them completely with my cats. I highly recommend Monterey Veterinary Clinic.

I took my dog here ever since I adopted her. This was close to 11 years. I never liked Dr. Brown, but my dog loved the vet techs so I kept coming back. Every major medical issue she had was diagnosed by another vet. When my dog fell ill in August, he wanted to do a bunch of expensive bile acid tests to determine her liver function before doing anything else. I refused and kept hoping she had developed food problems. Turns out a simple x-ray and a trip to Calgary North Veterinary Hospital, showed my dog was riddled with cancer. Way to go Dr. Brown, once again you missed a big ticket illness but at least this time, the months it took me hoping I could treat her symptoms gave me more time with her. I will never return here and I think money is better spent elsewhere. You would think with long term service I would have had a break in fees or something, but nope. Love the vet techs but Dr. Brown is useless.

The staff at Monterey are all very helpful and understanding. I brought my cat in on short notice because she wasn't well, and they did everything they could to make me feel more comfortable, calm down over my worries about her and help me to help her feel better. They are all wonderful, genuine people. Their service costs are a little pricey, but comparable to the area, and you really do recieve outstanding service for what you pay for!
