Our small Yorkie travelled with us to CA over Christmas and was taken ill during our stay. Our initial contact with this hospital was by phone and the person who took our call listened to our concerns and suggested we bring Stanley in immediately. When we arrived at the clinic, he was given a cursory exam to assure he was not in distress. This act, along with the phone conversation, instilled immediate confidence in our choice of clinic. They admitted Stanley immediately. This was Christmas Eve so you can imagine our relief to find them open and able to take care of him so quickly. We were told to call or visit anytime. Dr Jennifer Hanes, who treated Stanley was very knowledgeable and clearly loved her vocation. When she learned that we were to travel to Yosemite on December 26 and were concerned about leaving Stanley in a kennel, she offered to have him stay at the clinic. We have the highest regard for everyone we came in contact with and cannot recommend this clinic too highly.

We took our beloved dog to the emergency clinic at 3:30 pm on Christmas Eve. She had a previously undiagnosed tumor on her heart, and she was gone by 6:00 pm. It was a heartbreaking experience. Despite the loss of our dog, I want to thank the staff, and particularly Dr. Jennifer Hanes, for their professionalism, care, and compassion. The lobby was crowded, but they brought in our dog immediately when they saw that she was in distress. They explained the tests she needed and very quickly diagnosed the problem. Dr. MacInnes was incredibly caring when she gave us the bad news. It's a shame that there are so few options when your pet needs help at night or on a holiday, but I am happy to know that the folks at South Peninsula Veterinary Emergency Clinic are there.
