I read some of the other reviews so I felt I should add one that explains how amazing this place is. I have always been treated with respect and they care for my pets as much as I do. When my first dog was very ill they gave me options and were extremely compassionate when I had to put him down. I value that and their genuine care for animals over the monetary cost. Dr. Chapin and Dr. Mootoo are both fabulous and the rest of the staff (Jenn, Jamie, Pearl) are always responsive and amazing to deal with. I recently adopted a dog who is very timid but she loves going to the vet! I would recommend Harwood Pet Hostpital to anyone looking for a vet clinic where all the staff truly care about the well-being of your pet.

Our dog went for his annual check up and rabies/lepto shots Dec 2017.
We were told by Dr.Mootoo that we need to bring him back another day as both shots could not be given the same day. We paid the check up fee and went back 3 weeks later and were charged a follow up check up fee. The vet told us the lepto shot would be $30 and never told us we would be charged a follow up fee. I called the clinic a couple of days later and was told by the vet tech this was common practise because they need to make sure he did not react to the rabies shot. I said this was nonsense if my dog reacted I would have brought him in sooner you are just gouging us. To make this worse we have not received a phone call from the vet regarding our complaint which in my opinion is extremely unprofessional. Animal owners be aware of this vet when shopping around as your wallet appears to be the only thing she is interested in.

We went for 7 years to this clinic. I regret that we stayed there for that long. Both of doctors are good conventional veterinars and very successful on pushing unesersary medication and medicated kibble of bad quality such Presciption diet. They helped us a lot, however they over treated my dogs on few occasions. Prescribed procedures and drugs which were not nessrsary, They do spend a lot of time to examine your pet and they are thorough during examination so the bill you get after is huge. I don't mind paying for the wealthbeing of my pet, but I refuse to be taking advantage because I love my dog. They used to open on Saturdays, not anymore, Inconvenient.

We have been coming to this vet for a number of years now and the service is good. They do make you feel a guilty for not wanting to spend large sums of money on procedures (ie. teeth ($1,300)/ heart murmur ($650)). I love my cat but can not afford these types of treatments and was made to feel guilty for this. They are kind and gentle to the animals but they are a little too pushy and expensive for my taste.

Client of this office for 9 yrs (have had 6 other vets over 25yrs), by far the best. Dr. Chapin (main vet for my 3 dogs over time) is completely thorough and explains Everything, in as much detail as I want. She has dealt with crises, treated chronic ailments, euthanasia, and regular & preventative wellness all with competent professionalism, compassion, and genuine friendliness. You can tell she loves her work and wants to help as much as possible, telling you what can wait or is optional, possible consequences, and pushing only required treatment. She personally calls with test results and advice, and the office will call or send email reminders for appts or meds pickup. Was impressed by her patience with a high school coop's questions during an exam of my dog. Dr. Mooto and the Vet Techs (especially Jenny) are just as marvelous and friendly. They are all versed in the computerized record keeping system the office uses and so everyone down to the receptionists can call up history.

I've had pets all my life. Therefore, I have had many veterinarians that I have taken my pets to. Dr. Andrea Chapin is the most thorough vet that I have ever dealt with. She spends a lot of time with my pets. I have 2 dogs and 4 cats, they are aged 9 to 11, and aged 4 to 16 respectively, and "Dr. Andrea" has made all of them more healthy than they have ever been before.

I only have two things to say about this vet. 1. They charge $17 to fill a prescription meaning the receptionist grabs medication from the cupboard to the bag. This is on top of the price of the medication. 2. They charge $24.95 to write a prescription for you meaning they write on a 3 by 4 inch piece of paper and charge you. Take this info and imagine the kind of price they charge for their service. Its called RIPOFF. That's all I want to say. I wont even talk about the rude receptionist customer service, especially the girl named Jenny.

My baby girl was really sick, but they did all they could to make her better while balancing reality into our conversations with great sensitivity. She was 21. That was 6 months ago, now I have a new little guy, and we're still going there. They are pricey, and are always asking me to come back for all these shots. I dont vaccinate my pets fully, just a rabies shot and heartworm/flea pills is enough for us.

I have used this vet for 1 1/2 years and they are a great change from the bigger offices. They are so great they anticipate whatever I need and are ready with the food I purchase by the time I run out. The vet (Dr Mootoo) is wonderful at taking the time to explain and she enters into the computer as she is doing the examination so my dog's records are always in front of her or better yet in front of her partner in case we need an appointment when our vet isn't there. I have had many animals in the last 42 years and i find this office very refreshing.
