I find Alpine animal hospital very caring and efficient. The doctor that takes care of my cat is attentive and caring. He’s very good with Sasha. I was able to go into the exam room with her and stay with her on every visit. I would high recommend this clinic

Vet failed to explain anything. Staff came in with two bottles of pills which I had to research online. I didn't give her the Felimazole and only a couple Mirtazapine. I probably saved my cat's kidneys and her life by doing so. They also pushed some canned food on me just cause the vet said so. Cat was hydrated at the vet's, which probably helped, but I don't know if any vitamins/minerals used. After that insulting traumatic experience, I nursed her to back to health at home with full fat sour cream, filtered water and her usual quality food and treats. Also, prayed over her! Vet didn't explain anything and not being a vet myself how am I to know what to ask, also under duress. Run the other way...avoid!

ATTENTION PLEASE: Was quoted a price for procedure on my dog at $7-800 for spaying. I brought the dog in and was then told it would be starting at $1000 and that was just the money down the bill would be much higher. when i called in numerous time the night before and explained i had had her at another clinic and they said she had pyometra. The receptionist asked me for the wait of my dog and then told me they had a lady in with one a little lighter and it was $700.I Feel like i was brought in with a cheaper quote then gouged me for more money. VERY UNCARING PEOPLE! Dr Standish even said it was not his fault that I didnt spay my dog earlier. Nice way to handle upset customers. Only care about the money. I could pay the higher amount but dont think this is right. Seems like they want to take advantage of people in at a very stressful time when doctors are supposed to be caring. Took her to Clearspring Vet in Steinbach and they total there was $852. If you love your pet please dont go

ive been going to this clinic for at least 4 and a half yrs I absolutely love it dr Standish is amazing with my 3 Chinese shar-peis and I would never take them to anybody else love the friendly front staff as well

Brought our dog here for a supposed ear infection (she never had any symptoms). She was prescribed a huge dose (more than 3x the recommended amount on the label for twice as long) of an antibiotic. When I called to confirm, the receptionist wouldn't even let me leave a message for the vet, and said "if that's what they prescribed, that's what it is". Then started going on and on about some****zu's dosage. Also, the amount they charge is ridiculous compared to other places. I got a few quotes for one test and they were almost DOUBLE! Not impressed with this place.

ive been taking my 3 dogs there for over 3 yrs dr Standish is an amazing vet and the staff are wonderful would never go any where else

Dr. Standish is a fantastic veterinarian. He takes his time during appointments so you do not feel rushed and have the opportunity to ask questions. He doesn't prescribe medications unnecessarily, instead favouring do-no-harm alternative approaches when possible when the client is amenable. I have also been allowed to watch/restrain my dog during minor procedures rather than having him be whisked off to some back room, which I thoroughly appreciate. When my Bichon was very sick last summer I met the other two veterinarians at this office and liked them as well--my Bucky was in good hands. My experiences have all been favourable and, as an extra benefit, I find that this office is not as expensive as other offices are.

I started coming to this clinic as they had the best spay/neuter rates but I stayed because of the amazing service. Dr Singh was our vet from day one. He's phenomenal with the animals. I adopted a shepherd that was severely abused and was very worried about taking her to the vet for the first time. He kept her calm and relaxed through the entire exam. I started bringing all my animals there and have always been pleased with the service received. Two years ago one of my dogs broke a vertebrae in two spots. I feared we would have to put her down but they were able to heal her without surgery and today she is doing amazing! I started volunteering at the clinic when I decided I wanted to return to school to become a vet and seeing how they operate on animals and treat animals behind closed doors made me even more happy with the service. They all really care about the animals that come through the door and love their jobs.

We took our Animals here for years... In 2011, one of our male cats grew ill ans started losing weight. Took him in and without even doing a blood test they said he was anorexic. A week later his kidneys failed we had to put him down. Took his brother in a year later with the same issue found out his kidneys were failing and they gave us some kind of powder (which I later found out was not approved for use in Canada), changed his food, - the bare minimum that can be done and he also had to be put down a few weeks later. They blamed us for it and said we should have brought him in sooner. Took their sister in a year later... same thing again and again they did the bare minimum and told us to put her down immediately citing she wouldn't last a week and treatment was too expensive. This time we got a second opinion and proper care from a different vet. A year later she is happy and doing very well. Had the proper care been issued to her brothers we could have saved them too.

We been to this clinic for 8 yrs. since we got our first dog Max. Now we got our new dog coco, we are not happy after his neutered done on this clinic. We noticed something was wrong on him right after the surgery. But they told us it was normal for small dogs having problem putting tube on their mouth. Coco was Coughing, typically a dry cough which he sounds like a duck & Excessive drooling . Our dog was healthy and fine before the surgery. After couple days seeing him suffering we decided to bring him back and found out he got throat infection from tubing. And we end up paying again for their mistake. We still waiting for the manager to call us back. Everytime we ask for manager, it not around. I have plan to file complaint to vet association.

Our pug was diagnosed with elongated soft palate and Dr Standish did the surgery on a Friday. On saturday our pug could not breathe and we rushed her to another vet clinic. We reached Dr Standish by phone and he refused to help. Our pug died within hours of this crisis. I made a complaint with the vet association and an investigation was done with this clinic and dr found in breach of several rules and including failing to cooperate with investigators. He was forced to write an apology letter which was a joke. We regret dealing with Dr Standish and this clinic every day. He could not care less of what happened to our dog or ourselves. He is a disgrace to the profession.

Charlie was diagnosed with a massive fat lump but another showed up in the belly possible tumour, had surgery the following week...very very clean cuts... Staff cared... Price decent, they love pets and don't take you for a money run. Honest caring. Best vets ever

My dog was a patient at this vet clinic for almost 15 years. Dr Standish diagnosed and operated on a painful problem with my dog's knee that went undiagnosed for several years with the previous vets at this clinic, for which I am extremely grateful. There were a few occasions where I had called with a concern, and Dr Standish always returned my calls promptly and was never rushed when speaking with me. There is one negative thing that will prevent me from returning to this clinic and that is the lack of empathy from the staff when my dog suddenly passed away in my arms at home, and I had to rush to bring him in before the office closed. After 15 years as a client, it would have been nice if they had displayed a little bit of warmth and kindness towards me.

I have been going to see Dr. Standish for 2 years now, and like the Vet clinic. I struggled with the question on Monetary value... don't all vets charge the same? $100 for a visit, it seems. Biggest surprise is when one of the other vets gave me a sample of 1 cup of food, and I noticed a $2.99 charge on my bill. I guess the sample was free, but the plastic bag cost me. All in all, I believe my dog gets good care.

I absolutely LOVE two of the vets here, including Dr. Standish but especially Dr. Nichol! I've never met a Vet more willing to go out of her way to ensure your animals are healthy and safe. She is amazing with animals, and treats our two dogs like they are her own. She gets to know your dogs right away, and soothes their stress of being at the vet by cuddling them and letting them even lick her face! The staff here are very nice, and I've never had a problem with this clinic. If you are looking for an amazing Vet, book with Dr. Nichol! Dr. Standish is also amazing.

I have been taking my dog to this clinic for years.they started out very reasonably priced. But it seems like they add extra fees for this test and that test for just in case incidents. My main decision for leaving this clinic was there lack of empathy. My dog hurt his back late one evening to which I took him to the after hours emergency. They fixed him up with some meds , he slipped a disc in his back.my previous dog had this same issue so I was familiar with the condition. A few months later he did it again in the early morning. So I called this clinic (this is my regular vet for 7yrs) they refused to see him that day with out an appointment .he was in PAIN. I new what was wrong explained the last episode and the meds he was given that helped him. But with no appointment booked the earliest they would see him was the next day and I called before 9:00am.no empathy or customer loyalty . DONE! They don't care about the animals just how deep the owners pockets are, like I said DONE!!!!

I took my 13 year old cooker spaniel/poodle dog in for dental work. I was very worried about his health and even though i loved my dog so much money was a big issued for me since i don't have a credit card. I did phone around to other clinics in the area and I couldn't believe the difference in price. That was how I ended up going to Alpine in the first place. My dog had his surgery and the staff was absolutely wonderful. I also found out that 3 of my coworkers have been taking there pets there as well and they loved this place as well. I would definitely recommend Alpine Animal Clinic to take your pet to

I've been going to this clinic for years. Wonderful, caring staff. Knowledgeable vets, great facilities. I wouldn't go anywhere else. My pets have always had the best of care at Alpine. I recommend this clinic to everyone!

Brought in my 5 year-old cat for a spay. When the surgery was finishied, they had jacked up the price by $70 advising that she was "obese" and a "mature cat". No one mentioned this before the surgery. My cat is absolutely NOT obese. Pretty tiny, in fact. And the waiver form they had me sign repeatedly defines a "mature" animal as 7 years and older. The cost of the basic surgery was about $20 more expensive than elsewhere to begin with. They were clearly trying to fleece me. BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU FILL OUT THEIR WAIVER AND CONSENT FORM.

I have been going to alpine to see Dr. Standish for years with my american bulldog. The front staff have always been friendly and professional. I always recommend Apline Animal Hospital to all my family and friends!

I used to take my cats to this clinic until they switched our cat with another persons cat who looked very similar. The owner refused to talk to us directly to even apoligize and without our permission they gave our phone number out to the woman who's cat they had given us by mistake. Very unprofessional. Would never reccomend this place.

Dr. Standish & his staff are wonderful!! Dr. Standish spends the time explaining conditions and treatments...always helpful. Dr. Standish has been treating my dogs for the last 4 years. I will continue to bring my dogs to Dr. Standish.
