Dr Wilke and Dr Sang are incredible. Some times it’s a bit pricey but I would agrue it’s worth it. Dr Wilke is always honest and so helpful, she’s always willing to talk with us on the phone if we have concerns or questions. Dr Sang helped us say goodbye to our 18 year old pup and we couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful and respectful passing, all because of her. ?? I would recommend either of these two vets to anyone, they have helped so much with our ‘lemon’ dogs and cats.

Dr. Anne Irwin is great. My dog Jasper had surgery for a torn ACL in February and he has received excellent follow-up care for the past 4 months. I have found all the staff friendly and caring which makes visits as stress-free as possible for patient and guardian.

I love Dr Carla Wilke. Her bedside manner, knowledge and willingness to listen is stellar. She has a wonderful way of explaining why she feels the treatment plan is what is best. I treat as holistically as I can and she is so respectful and supportive of that, supporting that with acupuncture and TCM. The reasons I am not giving this clinic a 5 rating is because I have had too many emails and voicemails fall through the cracks and not be returned or returned very late (which when dealing with a sick dog in pain just doesn't work for me), and because one of the vets allowed their dog to roam off leash throughout the clinic during one of our appointments which for a reactive dog (like mine) is awful so waiting in the waiting room was incredibly stressful. I can't imagine too many sick dogs would appreciate a random dog approaching them either. But if you are looking for wonderful care for both your dog and you, Dr Wilke is definitely it!

The office staff are wonderful but the vet care was very disappointing. My dogs tumour was misdiagnosed and cancer spread throughout his body. If it had been caught he probably would have had several more years of life. Too many vets in the office who don't seem to communicate with one another properly. They do not take time to read the files carefully or monitor the dogs health. Unfortunately my dog will die. I write this so that this doesn't happen to someone else.

We have gone to Ambleside for many, many years and have always had good service. Chris Booth is an amazing vet and has a great sense of humor which always makes ordinary visits fun. When things are serious, he is incredible in terms of explaining what must be done and why. We have also enjoyed the other vets that have worked with him and have recommended Ambleside many times to friends looking for a vet.

It all depends on the day you go in what it's going to be like. Dr chris booth the practice owner is very difficult to be around and makes you feel awkward. Dr Carla is the only reason I still go, she is amazing and listens to all your concerns while offering more than one option moving forward. Depending on who's at the desk you may have a good experience... Other days you may not though. It's a 50/50, I only recommend going if you know you will see Dr Wilkie or Dr Upjohn I have seen once as well and he was a very professional kind man.

I have been going to Ambleside Animal Hospital with my kitties for about 2 yrs. Overall: the staff, Dr Booth and the other Vets have been wonderful & caring. Honestly: on only 1 occasion with my 16 yr old adored kitty, did I feel that a new Vet was too clinically 'cool' regarding the situation at hand; I found her upsetting. Recently I had the pleasure of choosing to make an appointment with Dr Hugh UpJohn for my new kitten prior to heading home. He has recently come to practice at Dr Booth's clinic after having his own clinic for years. What a TOTAL delightful experience! Dr UpJohn is clearly highly competent with warm people/pet skills; so key for people who love their pets and need not only advice but emotional support. He is open to comprising on new ideas but gives you confidence in his broad knowledge/experience. Dr UpJohn is a huge asset to the Ambleside Animal Hospital who I am pleased to highly recommend to anyone who wishes attentive care for their loved pets.

We rescued a little cat from Istanbul and he was in a very sad condition, but he was a tough little fellow and survived being shipped over by air, however he had just about every ailment a cat could have but Dr.Chris Booth was patient and amazing, he treated each problem individually with great concern and expertise until this little cat was well, he is now a 13 months old Egyptian Mau and a most healthy and energetic little fellow and full of affection. Dr. Booth had a unique way of relating to this kittie (Tommy)and was able to make him relax. We also rescued a lovely German Shepherd type doggie (Tonto)who was going downhill and looked pretty sorry for himself, but within a few days Dr. Booth had him on the mend and is now looking bright and happy. In our book Dr. Booth is the best veterinarian around and he knows cats equally as well as dogs. As for the "bad" review listed that must have been written by the competition !!

I am thrilled that Dr. Upjohn is practicing again!! I have been going to see him at his previous clinic for the last 9 years whenever my guinea pigs had issues. I had previously taken my two short haired guineas pigs to him and they lived long and healthy lives. Dr. Upjohn successfully treated malocclusion on multiple occasions for one of the guinea pigs' teeth and also cured upper respiratory tract infections for the other pig. I now have two skinny pigs and one has malocclusion, and Dr. Upjohn operated on him today and he's already eating so well! His rates are very reasonable and I never feel like he pushes any diagnostic tests, meds, or procedures that aren't warranted. I can recommend his services with complete confidence. Thanks for all your help over the years!!

Like most vet clinics you need to be wary but for the most part this clinic is OK cost wise. The staff have been pleasant over the past several years we have taken our dog here. However, I would recommend to try out the many vets in this practice until you find one that works for you and your pet. Dr. Booth has run hot and cold for us..it is a real shame that it has been this way and his inconsistency has become very disappointing, both professionally and personally.

We have been going to this clinic with our dog for the last 10 years, but for our last visit we were fortunate enough to see Dr Anne Irwin and she is TERRIFIC. She THOROUGHLY but very gently examined our elderly dog, while keeping him very calm and causing very little stress. It really was the first time our dog was EVER examined like this ... and he actually still liked her after, wagging his tail and running towards her. She has fantastic bed-side manners and I STRONGLY recommend her to anyone looking for a vet that is knowledgeable, thorough AND actually LIKES animals!

Expensive, more than other West Vancouver clinics. Dr. Booth was fine for years when needing just the usual care, until I tried to discuss a disappointing experience with his clinic with him, then he was unprofessional (swore) and came across as completely uninterested.

We LOVE Dr Booth! He is not a pill pusher and is extremely helpful and compassionate. We've tried a few other places and always end up back at Ambleside.

I can't believe the negative reviews! Dr. Booth is great with my pets and explains everything in laymans terms- often very entertainingly. He clearly has a lot of experience and I'm sure I've SAVED thousands with him curing my dog's diarrhea - compared to the cost of cleaning carpets, cars..... His staff is cheery and knowledgable and make the clinic a pleasant place to visit. He gets test results to me so quickly- turns out he has a lot of equipment, blood analyzer, a digital X-ray machine! Ultrasound...you get what you pay for. Thank you Dr. Booth for looking after my dogs and cats for the last 9 years.

They do have good facilities but they utilized it on ripping off clients. A lot of the procedures were unnecessary and cost was unreasonable. He would do a full examination on already diagnosed disease and confirm with you that the pet does have that disease and charge you for hundreds of dollars. Dental cleaning also costed around 1-2 thousands compare to max $200 in other animal hospitals.

We have been going to Dr. Booth for 8 years with our 2 cats. One we found as a stray, pregnant, Dr. Booth, examined and for FREE, guided us through the kitten birth, and cared for a very very sick mama cat (spay surgery)with daily visits and shots, tests etc for 9 days until she was well, free. Available on weekend, special trips. Can't say enough good things about his honest, candid, and realistic approach to vet care. We always know where we stand and we are never rushed. On time! Lovely staff.
