Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview is the worst! Do not take your pet here. They are a money making scam and have no empathy once your pets has passed. Coldest place I've ever know. My dog Bandit passed in their post op care and not one phone call to check in on us. My dentist even calls when I get a cavity. I have no placed numerous calls for management to call me back. Still no call. No call when I called to check on my dog either. Awful. If only I could turn back time. Horrific experience. Please, get a second opinion. I wish I had. I am trying to save someone from another tragic incident...Shame on this place and Dr. Marino for not getting involved in all of these bad reviews. Defend yourself at least and give the patient's family so damn respect!

Not a great place to take your animal. I took my dog there because she had a limp. Dr Marino said it is inflamation in the knee and a simple incision would get her on her feet again. After a month past my dog never put her leg down because she was in pain. I took her back to the hospital Dr Marino said that it might be cancer in her leg. There was no cancer. Two months later he did another incision on her back leg to see if there was anything in the back leg preventing her from putting her leg down. There was nothing there. this was may 2015. My dog is still limping she never put her leg down and she is on pain medication for the rest of her life. My cost is over $6000.00.

This office, though very nicely decorated, is all about the MONEY. Especially, Dr. Marino..I would not use him or this office again.

In 2006 my pitbull was diagnosed by Marino to have a brain tumor which in fact he had a clotted thrombosis my dog was 6 years old and after Marino performed brain surgery like a science project I had to put my dog to sleep. No apology no nothing. Here we are in 2014 my female pitbull had a soft tissue sarcoma and because no one on Long Island besides these hacks are capable of doing this surgery we brought our female here 12 days later she has a horrible infection and at end of day they want another 1500 to look at her after the 3000 surgery, mind you the infection is caused from the surgery Marinos wife performed.I know Marino for over 35 years and like the rest of his family it's all about supporting there lavish lifestyle. Wish another place would open that could perform what your pet actually needs.

Dr.marino is the most compassionate vet I've ever had.He is highly educated n his experience in diffucult surgeries is the best. He is a pioneer in brain/spinal surgery .dr.marino performed my dogs surgery 2 remove a tumor (cancer) that was located were the 2 nasal passages meet. The surgery 2 remove it was nvr performed before. He went through the soft palate. Extremely risky because of all the arteries located in that area but he did it! His first words 2 me wen he clld afta she surgery was "u did it" I said what ??? No u did it dr.marino n again he said I did it because I put my faith in him. I thought that was amazing n very humble. Actually my first meeting with him he didn't greet me for at least 5min because he was busy greeting my dog.Again amazing.one more thing he was so afraid that someone would misplace my dogs chart he either carried it with him ,locked it in his office or took it home.my dogs case was a big deal beecause there's nvr been a tumor on record in that area
