Sorry for the evaluation but I have to put something so better like myself right? please know that Dr. Chauvet no longer works there. The clinic is now under a different owner and manager and name. Dr. Chauvet can be found at www.veterinaryneurology.net if you need to reach her about any comments.

I had to see Dr. Chauvet several times during the year my cat had a brain tumor and every time I saw a person with a lot of compassion & knowledge and she certainly did everything she could to save his life and I will never forget her for this. The negative reviews seem to be about the money/bill yet people forget she is an expert in a field very few veterinarians are in, it also cost a lot for equipment and to run a 24 hour ER clinic and no matter how much you love animals, you cannot stay in business by doing it for free. My best advice for people is to get Pet Insurance, I had it for my cat and it was one of the smartest things I did for him. I had to pay out of pocket first but was reimbursed within 2 weeks. As pet guardians it's our responsibility not the ER vet to take on the financial burden of saving your pet. If you cannot afford emergencies or cancers that are epidemic in our world now then don't have an animal because it's likely something bad will happen.

We brought our dog in for an evaluation-he was having rear leg weakness and we were concerned it could be neurological. WE agreed, after speaking with Dr. Chauvet, to go ahead with an MRI--she also thought a spinal fluid draw/test might be in order, but that she would call us first before doing it so we can further discuss and approve/disapprove it and the additional $750. cost. I had the front desk person make that clear on the cost approval sheet we signed before anything was done. Front desk person even initialed the spot re: spinal test. When we picked up our dog--turns out they went ahead and did the test anyway and we were charged. Front desk person said, so sorry, but nothing they could do. Also MRI was only of neck area (we assumed it would be a full MRI-dog is 28 lbs.)--so we still know nothing about dog's hind quarters re: MRI--I would stay away from this vet. $3000. later and we learned little to nothing.

Dr.Chauvet is brilliant! My 13 yr old lab was scheduled for an Mri as a referral. She took an office visit with us before and saw 4 things that were causing her problems WITHOUT xrays and a costly Mri. She did a genetic test first, that would rule out costly xrays/Mri...She was right and my lab had DM and nothing could be done. I have never met such an amazing Doctor! I wish she was a family practitioner too!!!

Our dog could not move her back legs and we were told to see Dr. Chauvet. One of the nurses there was extremely nice and supportive. Dr. Chauvet seemed to be that way too at first. She told us that and MRI was needed, not an ex-ray. Surgery was needed immediatly. We did not have the thousands of dollars she wanted so she turned cold. We told her we could give her the money the next day. We pleaded and told her we will give her our truck, wedding rings, everything. She did not want to hear us. The next day my mother in law had the money for us but Dr. Chauvet did not want to do an MRI or try to save our dog. She said we had no choice but to put her down. She put our dog to sleep and then said that she is taking our now dead dog, in the back until she knows for sure that we have the money and pay. We did but how can she be so cruel and cold? The other odd thing is that Dr. Chauvet was very nice to me but nasty to my wife without reason. My wife was crying the whole time.

Simply amazing. I have been to the clinic several times over the past year and Dr. Chauvet and her staff has gone out of her way to give us individualized attention. Their follow through has been instrumental in determining some unique diagnosis. The staff is friendly and most recently have sprang into action when we had a critical case. We learned more from their vet staff with each visit. They not only make a rapid diagnosis, but educated us on the disease path and what to expect. Thank you so very much to all of the wonderful staff.

My 16yr old baby was in a dog fight with a foster I was watching. I took my 16yr old dog to University Animal Clinic but was unhappy with the treatment of my baby. So I pulled my baby out while still under anasthesia. Dr. Chauvet took me the same day, made sure my baby was safe and didn't charge me to take her stitches out a week later. My dog doesn't like strangers but kissed Dr. Chauvet in the first 30seconds of meeting her. Dogs know. This is not a money making operation. She really does care!

Our dog was a patient and was having seizures every 20 min.Chauvet asked us to come up she needs blood/urine test. Chauvet had left before we arrived at 2pm. Melissa Claus was given instructions to take these tests and check her. She refused and said the visit would be 570.00. It was before 5pm and was told it was 60. and basic blood work w/urine test is not over 200.00. She refused to even take the basic steps. My friends dog had seizures went to their own vets and she immediately took a blood and urine test which determined the problem and was given phenobarbatol, and the dog was fine. My dog never received even the basic tests. All the other vets said you do NOT start off with an MRI for thousands of dollars, the vet is supposed to take the basic tests first, which was never done. This is a money making outfit, and the other ER vet said it is 65.for a vist in the afternoon. Claus refused to do anything and let her die.
