Only care about making money, upselling useless tests, treatments. Non professional team. Thank goodness I went elsewhere! Don't waste your time and energy going to this vet.

Scam, pray on emergency situation to charge you useless exams. Do not go there. Empty place for a reason. I was vulnerable and worried and agreed to pay, also sad ending, my pet passed away during the few hours stay. And you are not allowed to stay in the waiting room even though it's the last hours for your pet.I should have looked at the reviews but it was too late.

They want to run tests that make no sense right away. They will try anything to sell you anything. They don’t listen to how to properly care for your animal. Like they put my cat with allergens even tho I informed them that my clay cat litter makes my cat sick. My animal wasn’t eating or drinking and then they put him in a cage with a substance that has a history of making him sick. Do NOT go here

Because of covid I cannot speak as to how the staff interacted with my cat but I can confirm what others have said about major upselling and recommendations for expensive procedures that do not make sense for the situation. When questioned as to why my cat needed them, the staff simply repeated his reasons for such a test but not as to why my cat needed that test. To top it off, they offered to cut my cat's claws (because my docile kitty was aggressive with them). They cut up to and in some cases into the quick with evidence of blood still noticeable 4 days later. When I called to complain they say there isn't any record of them cutting his claws. I have to check with the college of veterinarians, but the person who looked at my cat isn't listed as a doctor on the invoice, just a name and BVsc after on the medication and the invoice. Hospital says he's legally registered but would not recommend at all. Go somewhere else!

I had 2 great experiences at this vet clinic. The staff were very kind and compassionate and the doctor had a very calming effect on my dog that was in Pain. I was amazed at how cooperative my very large dog was in allowing such a thorough checkup...It was as though he knew hewas in good hands . I got a prompt diagnosis and very effective treatment at a very reasonable price for the service. I as I mentioned have used this clinic twie with full satisfaction and would not hesitate to recomend in a heartbeat .

TL;dr version -- I've had 2 experiences at Intercity Animal Emergency Clinic, and both were outstanding.
Staff: Very caring for the animals. Knowledgeable, helpful, and consoling. Also -- very thorough physical exams. They're intake is efficient and complete.
Clinic: Clean, well maintained, up to date equipment.
Diagnostics: Standard blood test and x-rays.
Overnight care: Top marks. They are sensitive to special diets, which is great, and do care for the animals.
Relations with other vets: Fabulous. They know most, if not all, other vets in the city and communicate with an animal companion's regular vet as needed and send all reports to them at the end.
Cost: Reasonable. I never felt like tests or procedures were pushed on me in any way. They take deposits along the way to pay for current and future agreed upon tests, procedures, and care -- this is normal.
A sincere thanks and much gratitude to Dr. Kansal, Dan, and the rest of the staff at Intercity Animal Emerge

My experience here felt like I was getting pressured into expensive invasive options when there were much cheaper and safer options on the table. I'm glad i called another vet for a second opinion and I promptly left, my animal was treated that night by the other vet with the non invasive procedure first and was successful.
It felt like these guys just wanted to slice my dog open rather than do what was best for him. Felt super sketchy.
I'm never coming back here.

Staff (including veterinarians) were inexperienced. My puppy ended up going home shaven and bruised in several places from veterinarian's attempt to take blood samples. Given procedures that were not necessary, same tests twice a week apart. Not recommended

Very cold unemotional 1st time visit with my daughter and her 17yr old cat that had just passed away on the way to the clinic to be euthanized. We waited in the waiting room for probably 5 minutes with a dead cat wrapped in a towel and my daughter very distraught and in tears. When someone finally came to greet us, there was no show of sorrow, sympathy or caring. The cat or my daughter were not even acknowledged . No 'I'm sorry for your loss" was even spoken. Info was put into the computer but still the dead cat wrapped in a towel was never even looked at, Finally a young man came out and listened to Joey's heart and stated that there was still a faint heart beat. He went back to get the vet who came and stated the obvious, that the cat was not breathing! DAH! He listened to the heart beat and asked if I wanted the cat euthanized. Meanwhile the cat was obviously dead. He wanted to know if we wanted to have him cremated or to take him home and cremate him ourselves. Like wher

Took my dog in because he swallowed a small ball they told me Surgery was my only option before even taking an xray. I asked about inducing vomiting and was told it was dangerous option. I called another emergency vet for a second opinion and upon hearing it I went there. They induced vomiting and the ball came up. These guys wanted to perform invasive dangerous surgery before even exploring safer options, screw them, they are taking advantage of people, DO NOT GO HERE.

I took my 10 month old puppy to have a checkup since he has a growth on his hind leg. Dr. Gurcharan Dhaliwal had no explanation as to what it was. He tried to prescribe me some ointment however I declined as he tried to upsell me. The expected vet bill with medication was $200-$225 (including examination fee of $70). I waited a week to see my regular vet and I ended up with $103 vet bill (including examination fee of $60). I would not recommend this vet as they try to upsell and the lack of the vet's knowledge. Overall I did not feel comfortable with him diagnosing my dog.

This place was cheapest so I decided to give it a shot. There were no other animals so I saw the doctor right away. The receptionist/vet tech barely spoke English and wrote all my information down wrong and it took awhile understand what I was saying. Then doctor came and called my male cat 'Barbie' when it was clearly written on the form Derby.... Also, he didn't explain why he wanted to do x-rays on my cat who I know had UTI. vet tech came back and I asked why aren't we doing a urinary analyses and she went back to the doctor and they just added it onto my bill instead of him coming and talking to me about it. Also he said it would take him an hour to do a blood test...I don't think it takes that long. After all of this I told them both that I was going to go somewhere else. I paid the $125 and got the hell out of there. Please don't go to this vet clinic. I've gone to Vancouver Emergency hospital on West 4th a bunch of times and they've never done any of these things.

Had a terrible experience at this clinic. Staff is very slow for an emergency clinic. Also they charged and requested a lot of tests that proved unnecessary later. I feel they take advantage of the situation. I do not recommend this clinic.

The doctor suggested that an X-ray and blood test is required on a minor fever symptom on my dog. The total which would rack up to $600 and wouldn't even offer any medicine for the fever until the X-ray and tests is done. Doctor was very aggressive in selling the X-ray and bypassing the fact that my dog has a fever? Ended up paying $140 for nothing done ( emergency and consultation fee)

Reasonable charge, and very caring staff and vets. My dog stayed for a weekend and was given the best care. Owners are allowed to visit at anytime, and are being called often for an update of your hospitalized animal, a very detailed report. Better in price than the other emergency hospital in town.

My beloved canine companion died waiting for emergency medical aid while these people filled out a form and the vet went to the toilet first. The clinic was empty yet it took 5 minutes or more before the vet even laid eyes on my dog. DO NOT take your pet to this place for emergency care.

We took our kitten there with an infection in his mouth. We got there at 1am. The counter staff were great but the doctor seemed nervous, unsure, and tried to scare and shame us--he harangued us over a FL vaccination that was two weeks late -because we just moved cities- and tried to tell us that was the cause of our problem. When he said he'd already received a physical and was an indoor cat, he said they probably missed something. But he didn't diagnose anything, gave us something for the infection in his mouth and was otherwise totally unhelpful. No differential diagnosis, no discussion about side effects of the antibiotic, or about typical behavior from a healthy kitten. He actually acted nervous around the kitten and answered most of our questions with a shrug. I was less than impressed, considering the cost, and his supposed level of education. I wouldn't go back if he was my own doctor, certainly not for my kitten.

i took my dog there recently late at night. the doctor recommended ultrasound, x ray, blood test, oxygen box, iv injection, morphine inject... and etc. I believe the doctor knew my dog wouldn't survive, but never recommend to put her sleep.i could see my dog suffering, but there wasn't anything that i could do besides to listen to the vet. The doctor kept recommending all different tests that costs so much, but not really helping my dog to feel better or treat her medication condition. Indeed, my dog passed away the next night after we took her home. she died sadly. she was not given any medication after we took her home in morning. Even though she looked little better at the time we took her home, her condition just went worse hours after. i wished i had a choice to at least put her in peace instead of watching suffering til death. The cost of the testss are just outrageous. never recommend, but i guess there is no other place that open that late.

Long story short, I brought my diabetic cat to this place at 3am recently because she had been very sick. The vet there was SO RUDE to me that why I don't have the medical record with me. I wonder if any pet owner always get a copy of the medical record every time after they visited their vet?! Who can predict you need to visit emergency clinic at midnight and prepare all the documents?!?! After everything was settled, I left because they will monitor the condition until next morning I transfer my cat back to my vet clinic. After 1 hour, I called to check the status, the vet was busy and called back later said my cat needs blood transfusion so I asked for a quote on the cost and gave my vet's technician name for them to call for more info about my cat. They never called back. I called at 7am and talked to the vet, he sounded like he didn't know I was waiting for the quote and he didn't call my vet technician at all. His excuse was busy. Bad service and attitude!! Don't go there!!

I worked at this clinic for less then 3 months and finally walked out in horror after the severely bad medicine I was observing. Majority of the veterinarians are horrible not only to the animals but to the staff. Be very leery of any recommendations and avoid this clinic as much as possible. I never once heard them recommend euthanasia, even to the most grave cases, instead they would pressure clients into prolonged treatment that in the overall picture never saved their pets but cost a lot of money. I have great sympathy for owners who don't know any better and fall into the trap of this clinic. Please be careful, your pet's deserve better.
