VCAH vets have very low professional skills. Even leading doctors know nothing about common internal diseases. They can treat some simple cases like uncomplicated stomach upset... Don't waste your pet crucial time and your money for multiple tests, x-rays and ultrasounds if you suspect something more serious. You will be charged a lot, and most likely receive wrong diagnosis. You will give your pet meds useless or even harmful for him... It probably will be too late for your pet if you continue to trust VCAH. They will never admit any mistakes. Don't wait! Make appointment with high rated specialist to get a true diagnosis and hopefully save your baby.

Great facility. Amazing hospital. The doctors are very kind and gentle. Of course I have a cavalier and that comes with a few visits to the vet throughout the year, but Valley Cottage Animal Hospital takes great care of him. Their prices may seem a little steep, but they are very competitive, and you absolutely get what you pay for. It's not always easy to find a great vet, but you will always find one at this hospital.

Horrible people! Stay Away!!! If you love you pets, please do go here. They are all about the money and extra unnecessary tests. They will let your pet die without some money up front. Stay far away!!!

I have had two very negative experiences at the Valley Cottage Animal Hospital. In my humble opinion the vets at this facility are incompetent in their diagnosis and emphasize the referral for needless services to justify exorbitant fees. They profiteer on the anguish of pet lovers in distress in my opinion. Avoid this facility lest you be ripped off. They don't want you to leave without a bill exceeding thousands of dollars.

Again, another successful treatment at Valley Cottage Animal Hospital! Yesterday, my cat was lethargic and not eating. The vet said he thought it was an obstruction that probably would pass. He did say there could be some inflammation and gave him antibiotics (I was very appreciative it was a shot), fluids, and hairball medicine. Today, he is running around and back to his old self. This same scenario has happened over and over again over the past 7 or 8 years that I have been going to VCAH, especially with my former older and chronically sick cats. It's so good to know they are there all the time.

Valley Cottage Animal Hospital at 202 Route 303 in Valley Cottage, NY is all about the money and their bottom line. We brought our beloved, healthy Rottweiler in for a wellness exam and her annual vaccinations. A few days later, our dog was unable to walk, in excruciating pain and no longer eating. We took her back to Valley Cottage Animal Hospital, where they wasted her precious time taking x-rays, ultrasounds and claiming she most likely had a tumor or cancer. They sent us home with oral medications knowing full well she was not able to eat. Hours later we rushed her back because she was vomiting and her leg had swollen up to 3x its normal size at the injection site (from the vaccinations administered by Valley Cottage Animal Hospital days before). We believe at this point they administered nothing more than pain medication, but only after wasting more time insisting they review their ignorant estimate of costs with us. After admitting/leaving our baby at the hospital and whil

A really great place! Dr. Petro and his staff are wonderful! I took my 3 Airedales there for years before we moved out to IL. Dr. Petro delivered a litter of 10 puppies that my dog had. He did everything possible to wait until the puppies were born naturally before he resorted to a C-section. My dogs were always happy to see him as well as the other vets on staff. A little bit expensive, but well worth every penny! So caring, so clean, so responsible and so knowledgable. When my dog Gus was diagnosed with a rare eye disease, they referred us to a specialist elsewhere, as opposed to trying to treat it themselves. I wouldn't trust my dogs to anybody else in that area.
