If you go to Kenai veterinarian hospital, please make sure your pet sees DR McCarten. My dogs got health certificates and their shots updated. we scheduled an appointment to see Dr McCarten, when we got to the clinic we were given to Dr Carl Wisnewski. Our bill for an exam, health certificate and 1 moth of heart worm medication and flea medication was $350.18. We moved to texas and I attempted to buy heart worm medication online, Dr Wisneski refused to write a prescription and insisted that I needed to have the dogs seen again by a Texas vet. So now I can pay to have these dogs examined again in Texas. When you go see a human Dr for blood pressure or diabetes, they write a one year prescription. Dr McCarten has always been wonderful with my dogs, I am not sure why they were seen on January 4th 2018 by Dr Wisnewski, I should have rescheduled the appointment but the health certs had to be dated within 10 days of flight and there was not time before we left on the 7th to wait.

I have found their rates to be reasonable. The vets here are good about listening to clients that have dog savvy, which is one thing that is important to me. And they are good about finding time for me should an emergency arise.

Kind and polite staff and Vet. My dog runs to the door from the truck and behaves very well in the office .When my dog got his shots he didn't even notice!The vet gave good info on my dog as to care and feeding and behavior

this vet told me there was nothing wrong with my dog and that I was over reacting, so I went home. When my dog got worse I went to another vet and there WAS an infection, given proper meds she is now recovering
