Fraud and criminal animal abuse. Criminally used an xray of another dog to deceive us that our dog's cancer spread to her lungs. She mishandled our dog in the office by physically dragging her around. Would not allow us to observe the xray. We found the xray is of a completely different dog. Dr. Simpson desired to decide for us that our dog should be killed by her. Police contacted.

Ghastly Dr. Amelia Simpson. Look at her clinic/facility. It's a tiny house, way back from the street, she has no oversight. She can't function in a normal setting because she is profoundly socially inept and psychologically ill, so she has her own small house-facility where she does whatever she wants. She is inept to work with colleagues. A dangerous socially-ill woman who falsifies xrays, treats animals like products, only cares about money, has Aspergers severe, devoid of empathy, has harassed clients who ask her simple questions, criminal harassment via telephonic harassment. Served complaints with the Veterinarian Licensing Board. Please beware.

There are many positive and a few inflammatory negative comments about Dr. Simpson. Our recent (Sept. 2020) encounter was extremely positive -- our 13-year old Springer Spaniel had a large tumor on her side which 3 vets in our home town told us was too big for them to remove, and referred us to Dr. Simpson. Her judgement in accepting the case was excellent, and our geriatric Emma has taken a new lease on life, and almost acts like a puppy again! There is a blog post that is completely contrary to my experience.
Dr. Simpson is eminently qualified, demonstrably skillful, empathetic and caring, and her business ethics are above reproach.

It's obvious to see that 1-2 disgruntled clients created all these bad reviews for the doctor. Each case is complex and sometimes owners are too emotional to accept good medical advice. It's too bad that these sites can literally sink a career. She is currently President of the Oregon Veterinary Medicine Association so apparently her peers consider he a role model and expert in her field.

3 others I know, and me, concur Dr. Amelia Simpson is a robotic, emotionally destitute, Autism Spectrum, careless veterinarian. Extremely careless, causing several dogs prolonged problems, until other veterinarians stepped in. She was witnessed mocking a dog owner who was crying about her diseased dog. Witnessed by several family members. She persuaded several people to have their dogs euthanized in her office, rather than allowing the owners to bring their dogs back to their primary veterinarians who knew the dogs for many years. Sick woman, after payment for euthanasia!!! Horror nightmare woman. Her office/facility is a small shack structure, nightmare facility way off of the road, with no oversight. Please seek another surgical specialist and avoid this beadyeyed, staring, drawn-faced, monster. Severe Asperger's and abuses people with it. She should work in a laboratory away from people and animals. https://ameliasimpson0.blogspot.com

Sorry, the absolute worst veterinarian I've encountered. Dishonest to the extreme. Certainly has severe Aspergers Disorder also.
She also was harassing via the phone, including by calling repeatedly at 6am. Telephonic-harassment, which is a crime. Police had to be called on her, twice. The police contacted her and ordered her to discontinue her phone harassment.Dr. Amelia Simpson subjected my family to repeated deceptive manipulation about her schedule, test results, prognosis, etc. I spoke with several people in the Council Crest and Forest Park area, and each (every one of them) were outraged by her gross impersonality, repeated dishonesty, and said they would absolutely never return to her. They found other doctors who objected to Dr. Simpson's incompetent and careless and hurried diagnosis and treatment, including unnecessary treatment.
I was sickened by her drawn facial affect, her fake attempts to show sympathy, her grotesque manipulation and deception. A nightmare of a person

My Vet, here in Salem, suggested this clinic for my pup's torn ACL. Dr. Simpson & her staff couldn't have been nicer or more professional or better at what they do. Within two days after surgery, my little 10 year old dog was walking around like nothing had happened. I am VERY happy that I used this place.

Stay away from Dr. Amelia Simpson! Please. There are other surgical facilities in the Portland area that are REAL, LARGE hospitals with OVERSIGHT, and ACCOUNTABILITY. This is a small hospital with a few vets, in a tiny one story office suite, looks like a separate garage facility. The other hospitals in the area are magnificent. Dr. Amelia Simpson is MONSTROUS. Dishonest, does unnecessary surgery, fake personality, and is unpredictably angry and ABUSIVE. Please stay away! Please. She lied to us, over and over. We later found out her INCOMPETENCE. But it was too late. Our dog dies at her hands! Sociopath for her lies. She laughs at her sociopathy.

The person saying this doctor is heartless is out of their mind. That's the last word I would use to describe her. Dr Simpson took in our injured puppy and her primary concern was getting her fixed. She made it very clear that she didn't want money to be an obstacle to getting our dog fixed, and all she could talk about was getting her fixed. It became very clear to us that this doctor is in it to help animals. She gave us a very fair price and did great work on our little family member. I can't say enough great things about this practice and am really glad we found them.

I had an amazing experience with her in January and meant to post a review much earlier. She was very professional and understanding. Did great with my dog, who is sometimes aggressive toward strangers, and spent alot of time with me discussing the problem and surgical solutions. When I told her that I was unemployed and finances were a major deciding factor she assisted me in finding a way to finance the surgery, and offered me generic pain meds which are much less expensive. It was not a life or death decision, but my dog is now pain free and much happier. I couldn't be more pleased with the services of Dr. Simpson and her office. I would recommend her in a heartbeat. The poor review of her on here seems ludicrous, but who knows. All I know is that we loved her and the treatment she provided was top notch.

Please see: http://portland.citysearch.com/review... A horrific experience with Dr. Amelia Simpson an empathyless, unprofessional, hasty and rushed, medically careless, and often dishonest doctor. She lied to us that she wasn't available for surgery, and took advantage of our distress and confusion about our beloved dog's illness and suffering, and we trusted her that euthanasia was the best option. In the next day she contradicted herself, exposed her lies, and said she could have done emergency surgery that day. She never gave us that option. She 100% clearly told us that she could not do surgery that day. I called to discuss these issues with her, and she began calling me at 6:50am, repeatedly, in an obsessive fit. I had to call the Portland Police Department; they were dispatched to her office and ordered her to discontinue telephonic harassment. Dr. Amelia Simpson is disgusting and a horror.
