Click to report rating    4/5/19   1     1     1     1   I had been bringing my dog here for years and never had a problem. My grandfather had several dogs and he always went to Yates Veterinary clinic. I was never disappointed until this past year when they had "diagnosed" my dog with liver cancer.. we were devastated. I took my dog to Guelph to see cancer specialists and they informed me that IT WAS NOT CANCER and that the medication that Yates Veterinary Clinic had given him to take daily was making his current situation much WORSE. I was enraged. After spending thousands on tests and overnight stays at the clinic for my dog, they had diagnosed him with auto-immune disease and he died not but two weeks later..if only we had avoided the medication prescribed by Yates Veterinary Clinic that was continuously making him worse, maybe I wouldn't have lost my bestfriend. Dr. Maddy is ignorant and has NO idea what she is talking about, she should not have her veterinarian license. I will never take a dog back here. I am beyond disappointing!! RID: 67869

1/22/18   5     5     5     5   I took my husky to Yates and she got the best care. They found a tumor on her spleen and quickly operated . She is doing so much better. They saved my best friends life. I could never thank them enough! RID: 65424
Click to report rating    1/19/18   5     5     5     5   you can't get a better vet service than yates and thats my opinion because they took great care of my Cujo(dog) when no other vet seems to know what to do and cost my hundreds of dollars and never got an answer but 1 visit to yates and i got him help and cost me only dollars for a medication RID: 65401

Click to report rating    3/16/16   1     1     2     4   I've been a long time client and have to say how disappointed I am in the service you now receive at Yates. I think the dark haired lady at front desk is really rude and unprofessional. The other lighter haired lady at desk is nice and helpful. I had the misfortune of getting Dr. Emily Cho at night for my appointment. Nice person but a really bad vet. Doesn't know what she's doing or what to do. Very confusing person. No offense but can't understand her at all. Don't get the good, caring service anymore it seems. Very sad to say but I am thinking seriously of going somewhere else for my vet services. RID: 60048
Click to report rating    11/2/15   5     5     5     5   wouldn't take my animals anywhere else.(2 cats and dog) Very much like all the staff and the way they seem to really care about the animals and not just there for the money. Can't say enough good things about them. A very big Thankyou for everything.dave RID: 58851

Click to report rating    9/1/15   1     1     1     1   You have to ask yourself where the professionalism is when the receptionist puts you on "hold" (which is literally putting the phone on the desk) then proceeds to talk extremely poorly of customers to another staff member!! I can't even begin to imagine what happens when someone ISN'T sitting there listening if that is what they find appropriate when someone is.... :( my dogs will never be visiting again. RID: 58256
Click to report rating    7/9/15   4     4     4     5   rick and gord yates are the most kind and compassionate veternarians i have ever seen they truly care for animals.my two dogs have always been treated excellent, and thier rates are very resonable. RID: 57672
Click to report rating    5/8/15   1     5     5     1   I will never bring my dog here again. Brought him here a bit ago "just keep doing drops" his eye has been bad since March. His eye also swelled up where he couldn't see out of it and cloudy. I called and they said "just keep doing drops", if it gets worse bring him back in. Still nothing's changed. I'm sick of them saying keep doing drops. You can only do them for so long before your dog gets annoyed. They don't address the problem. Just keep doing drops..Brought him to another vet for a second advice turns out its entropion. If I would have kept going with the drops it could have caused an ulcer, and potentially left my dog blind in one eye. I will never go here again. RID: 56935
Click to report rating    4/27/15   4     4     5     5   We have taken our part German shepherd to Ingersoll and Woodstock clinics for 4 years. Always friendly and courteous staff. RID: 56808
Click to report rating    2/14/15   5     5     5     5   I recently bought an Pure bred Enlish Bulldog puppy I had to get them to check over and they did me and my puppy a great service, they checked her over gave her a clean bill of health. Great Vets I love them they care!?? RID: 55890
Click to report rating    1/6/15   3     4     5     4   I took my dog here for the first time when she was about 5 years old. I brought her there to have a small lump on her belly assessed. I initially thought it could be a form of breast cancer. One of the vet techs (not the primary veterinarian) assessed my dog and did not seem to know what she was talking about. On the description of my dog she even wrote "tan coloured" when she's all black. Anyway, I was told that the lump was nothing to be worried about. I brought her back a few weeks later to have her teeth cleaned (which went very smoothly). The vets did a wonderful job, but the primary veterinarian had told me he noticed the lump on her belly and diagnosed it as a cancer. I was shocked and angry that it could have gone unnoticed by his other staff. I just now had her spayed and had her tumours removed. Extremely pleased with the kind attitude and attention to detail Dr. Yates has towards animals. Disappointed with some of the staff though. RID: 55330
Click to report rating    12/19/14   1     1     1     1   Horrible vet. All they care is money over the poor animals. They don't run tests to solve problems they just play trial and error with meds and your money. Stay away from this vet RID: 55110
Click to report rating    10/3/14   1     1     1     1   I know someone who took their cat there to get looked at. The cat was not eating or acting like itself and had lost a few pounds. The vet at Yates did no xray or anything and said "the cat is just 'in a funny mood'" and two days later was lying on my friends kitchen floor dead. Maybe, if they had actually done something other than look at the surface of the cat it may still be alive. RID: 53873
Click to report rating    2/23/14   5     5     5     5   We were in Woodstock for the weekend when our puppy became ill. It was nearly midnight and we did not know any Veterinarians in Woodstock. We called the Yates Veterinary Hospital and after answering some questions about the puppy's condition were told that the Vet would meet us at the office in 30 mins. Dr Yates was wonderful with our puppy and made a preliminary diagnosis very quickly. He then verified the diagnosis with a blood test: Hypoglycemia. He gave our puppy appropriate treatment and answered all our questions. He did not try to hurry us out, even though at that point it was 2 a.m. Dr Yates was excellent in dealing with our puppy and us; and the cost was very reasonable. RID: 50028
Click to report rating    8/16/13   3     3     3     3   I like the vets there, but I find the receptionist doesn't know what she is talking about. They don't always have the medication I need. I called for them to put a medication aside for my husband and they had no idea what the medication was or if they had it. You can't just get a urine sample tested right there and then, you have to bring it in and they will test it when they have time and give you a call to come back if you need medication. A big waste of time! They also need to do some serious updating. On the other hand the vets know what they are talking about and are very informative. They are also very good about not wasting your money. RID: 46323
Click to report rating    8/2/13   5     5     5     5   The other night our pet rabbit Smokey was in severe pain, after a day and a half of suffering. We called at 11 PM, and, the vet said she could be at the Woodstock location by 11:20 to end his suffering. She was professional, compasionate and caring, and, definitely helped to ease an extremely emotional time for us! Thank you, so much, doctor AS for easing Smokey's pain, and, helping him to pass on to a better place. RID: 46033
Click to report rating    5/2/13   5     5     5     5   Absolutely wonderful people. Every last one of them who work there have been nothing less than fantastic toward my animals and myself. Highly recommend them. RID: 42245
Click to report rating    1/5/13   5     5     5     5   my dog had cancer and i came for a second opinion. the Yates brothers are there for your pet not the money (which was $600 less then the other vet). He was realistic told us everything we had to know and more. He was there for us for every surgery (because the cancer was worse than we thought, she had to have more than one). We had to use the emergency after hours service too. They were amazing, we were soo upset about our dog and what was happening, but they calmed us done and were there for us and the dog. Unfortunly the cancer was extremly aggressive and we had to put her down. When it was time to but her down i phoned it was closing time before the christmas holidays, but he grabbed the phone from the secratary as soon as he heard our name and said to come in. I will alway remember this and always go to Yates! RID: 39402
Click to report rating    11/2/12   1     2     1     4   I was hung up on when I called to ask a simple "why is this your procedure" question. The Receptionist raised her voice and the phone went dead. Not very good Customer Service skills. I've been a client there since 1996, and as of today, will never take another dog to this clinic. RID: 38232
Click to report rating    9/12/12   5     4     5     5   Very Caring and Super Affordable... I drive from London just for them RID: 37152
Click to report rating    11/5/11   4     5     5     5   At Yates they care about your pet. They are not all about getting your cash. We have been going to Yates for 18yrs, and because of that if our pet was to be ill it would be not unusual for us to be able to talk to one of the great Vet's there, and if there was something they think we could try at home they will suggest it instead of us coming into the office and charging a service call. With that being said though, if they thought we should come in they would never hesitate to tell us to. We have had a couple of pets pass. Our lab was in there and they were trying to figure out what was wrong with him, he was 15. They went over his health issues with us. We were told that we needed to make a decision that was best for him and our family. We decided to end his suffering. It was near closing time. We were told to take our time say our goodbyes, we were there probably an hour after closing time . We seriously would never take our pets anywhere else!!! RID: 28870
Click to report rating    5/3/11   3     2     2     4   I've been to Yates 3 times. The actual Yates brothers have been nothing less than wonderful. It's the young female veterinarian who I do not care for. There was a social awkwarness to her and she brushed off my dogs broken bones as him just being a wuss. Very insensitive. RID: 24775
