Killarney cat hospital has been my AUtumn's vet for over a year now. Autumn is diagnosed with ibd,pancreatitis and diabetes andtakes 4 meds plus insulin daily. This clinic is amazing-all the staff and Autumn's vet Dr Lennox, really care for Autumn and me. The staff, including all the vets, are caring,professional, so knowledgeable. They always take my concerns seriously and help me and Autumn through all the crisis. Today when I checked autumn's blood glucose I couldn't get her ear to stop bleeding. The tech took us in, got the bleeding under control, gave me instructions on how to care for the wound and took the carrier and cleaned it for me. Again this clinic is the best. I've owned pets for over 40 years and have never had a vet clinic that has given me so much suport and has cared for my pet like this. Thank you dr lennox and all the staff at killarney cat clinic!!

I would very much like to thank Dr. Lennox and the wonderful staff at the Killarney Cat Hospital who recently made time to see my sick cat. The support staff were polite, kind and supportive through our visit to the hospital. Dr. Lennox was amazing with my cat and it was the first time that I've ever taken a cat to a vet where my cat hasn't freaked out. I can't say enough good things in support of Dr. Lennox and the helpful staff here. Thank you so much!

Over the past number of years, I have brought all 3 of my cats here. Two of which had battled serious illness and one of those had to be put down. The care, attention, sympathy and patience that the doctors and staff have towards my cats and myself is amazing. They constantly follow up with phone calls and are always willing to answer your questions and I have never once felt rushed. All of the staff there seem caring and knowledgeable but I have had the most contact with Dr Hannigan. What a kind and patient man!! I highly recommend this vet clinic and can't begin to sum up my appreciation.

Our kitten had to have some rather extensive oral surgery. Our vet was Dr. Bolton. She and the staff were wonderful with us and with out fur baby. :) Our kitten has never been happier. Would recommend this clinic to anyone.

The care Dr. Hannigan took when my cat had to be put down was wonderful. I will never forget his kindness and the sensitivity he displayed. On other routine visits, the staff have been very professional, courteous, understanding and take great care in honouring appointments. I would recommend this clinic very highly.

Although I haven't been to this vet since my cat was a kitten (I now use a mobile service), they still had my records and were able to schedule my sick kitty in within a couple of hours of my call to the office. Testing and treament were all completed in a timely manner and we were back home out of the cold quickly. Also appreciated the in depth explanations of the lab work from another vet when I returned a couple of days later to buy kidney disease food. Thank you for your care Killarney Cat Hospital :)

My 6 yr old cat became ill, vomiting, diarrhea, total loss of appetite & dehydration on a Sunday. I took him to a local emergency clinic where he was examined & a series of tests performed, all inconclusive. We were sent home without a diagnosis with food which the cat would not eat. During the next week his condition deteriorated so I made an appointment with my regular vet, Dr. Hannigan, a vet with 40 years of experience at Killarney. After examining Beemer, Dr. Hannigan suggested that before further tests be ordered, his opinion was that Beemer appeared to be suffering from a food allergy so I was given a gastro intestional food to try for a week. Beemer dramatically improved & Dr. Hannigan called a week later to follow up on us. I have attended at Killarney on numerous occasions & my cats have always been accurately diagnosed. Having lived with cats for 35 years & attended at a multitude of clinics I would highly recommend Dr. Hannigan & this clinic. N. Romard

We are very thankful for the wonderful staff at Killarney Cat Hospital. Every visit was caring and helpful and we feel that they truly care about every cat they see. We can't thank the staff enough for providing emergency boarding during the flood in June as we were evacuated and had a sick cat at the time. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for the best care for their cat. Thank you again for taking such good care of our Dummy the Cat.

We've taken our 2 cats to this clinic on a few occasions, and find it easy to make an appointment, parking right out front, no waiting and the DR's are great with our cats and questions. recently we saw Dr. Bolton and she was very patient with us and our kitty. We are very happy with this clinic.

I find the staff professional and inviting. The vets we have seen are concise with respects to the questions I had and the available options both now and moving forward with my 6 year old cat. The clinic appears to need a face lift though. However, I have had a tour of the back area and found it hygienic and tidy. I will certainly keep bringing my wonderful feline campion back.

I've been a client of this clinic for over 10 years. My last 2 cats were looked after from 14 to 17.5 years. Empathetic doesn't begin to describe them. Dr. Porostocky is my main contact but I have had several dealings with his partners. They are direct, honest and friendly. I have 2 - 5 year old cats and they are well looked after. My kids love the annual open house and barbeque as well as finding out what they do back behind the door. While some might have concerns about procedures they have personal reservations about I know that people bring strays in from out of town as they don't put healthy cats to sleep. They adopt them out. I also know of one staff who adopted a big lug of a cat herself because he had a terminal disease and they didn't want to burden adopting families or shorten the cats life. It's not cheap but they educated professionals with fairly high operating expenses. Go to an open house and see what they have. They are a great group and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

*LOVE* this place! Not only does my cat get premium care, but the staff are amazing. Everyone is friendly and genuine care about the well being of the cats. I don't have pet insurance so while vet visits hurt a little, the quality of service is such that I wouldn't take my little guy anywhere else. Besides, he enjoys being there and that says something!

This is our second cat to have used Killarney Cat Hospital. The Staff and Doctors are wonderful and love their patients. We also use the boarding facilities often and Tigger is quite happy to be there! The staff is very helpful always ,and, we buy all our cat's food there as well. I highly recomment Killarney Cat Hospital for all your cat's needs.

I have been bringing my cats here since the clinic opened in 1996. I have always received top notch service, from standard vaccinations through to the final goodbyes. Staff have changed over the years but the care and compassion remain high. I can't imagine taking my cats elsewhere. I didn't give a 5 rating because the clinic isn't perfect in every way (what clinic is?) but overall, it works for me and my brood.

I have been taking my cat, Meggie, to Killarney Cat Hospital for the past 8 years. The level of service, attention and care that both my cat and I are met with on each and every visit is consistently exceptional. I have complete faith in the Killarney Cat Hospital team - I would not be comfortable taking Meggie anywhere else.

I am definitely not thrilled with this vet, not kind, rushed, and charge for everything possible. Scare tactics - yes. Compassion? I didnt see much...reading further down may provide some insight.
The last time I took my cat the vet - although they were pleasant enough to deal with, I discovered that they declaw cats. For those who are unaware this is a very painful amputation procedure of the first knuckle, incredibly pain and traumatic injury. I can no longer support this clinic. I urge people to read up on this painful procedure, and decide for themselves what is best for their animal. The humane society says -" Declawing traditionally involves the amputation of the last bone of each toe. If performed on a human being, it would be like cutting off each finger at the last knuckle." I will not go back.

A few months ago we had to put our cat down. Although it was upsetting, having such good care at the vet was a comfort. Our vet, Dr. Hannigan, was wonderful and kind. The discussion about treatment options was honest and direct yet unbiased and when we made our decision, there was no judgment. We received a hand-written card in the mail a few days later, which was a lovely touch. If you have a cat, this is the place to take it for excellent care.

Have been taking my kitties to Killarney Cat Hospital for countless many yrs and we have always been shown great kindness, attention to detail and a wealth of knowledge. Recently, our interaction with Dr. Carl Hannigan has been truly extraordinary. An incredibly kind and caring man, he diagnosed our Babette when she was literally dying in my arms and sent us on to a specialist, who extended her life for a miraculous 3 yrs. Dr. Hannigan heard that she was in trouble and called to find out how she was doing. Unfortunately it was the end of the road for our beloved girl. He came to our house and eased her into the next life at our request. The experience was beautiful and peaceful. We are ever so grateful that Babette died feeling no pain or anxiety in the comfort of our home and in our loving arms. Thank you, Dr. Hannigan, from all of us !!!

What a wonderful place the Kilarney Cat Hospital is. The staff are so amazing, from the receptionist to the nurses, the doctors and everyone I have dealt with was so pleasant. They were so great with my cat Duke, making us both feel comfortable! I will continue to bring him here as I trust he is in really good hands. They really care about the animals!! <3 I highly recommend going to see them! Thank you!!

My cat is always stressed at the vet and I sometimes feel like a burden bringing her in. Not at Killarney though, they treated us with dignity and were happy to see my girl even when she hissed. Dr. Liz and her assistant were quiet and gentle while taking blood. I've never seen my cat behave so well at the vet! The follow up call was a welcome surprise.

I can't believe the bad review. Yes the offices are older. But staff are friendly, appts are easy to get, waiting times are short, prices are low, and the vets are really really good. I've tried other vet clinics in calgary and after going here I won't go anywhere else

The clinic and vets have been super friendly, remember us(the pet owners AND pets) by name just by seeing our faces even when it has been over a year since our last visit. I shopped vet prices and found they were less expensive than most, and they don't have any pets other than cats, so no barking-hissing headaches there. We are dealing with some major health issues for our senior cat, and they have been empathetic and very helpful, calling us at home "just checking in on their patient" and not pushing us to perform expensive tests, instead just laying out our options. If you have a cat, this is the best place to take them!!

This place was recommended to me because I have an aging cat that will have increasing health care needs. I've visited them 3 times and each time I left with a "bad" feeling. There was no empathy for what my cat and I were going through. The prices they quoted seemed higher than my previous vet quoted. That being said, I'll pay what needs to be paid for excellent professional care and service. Unfortunately, as others said, these guys only seem to care about the bottom line.
Also, this place specializes in cats and both vets I saw seemed put off, even scared to handle my fully declawed cat because she was a bit fussy. She's at the vet, she's not thrilled to be there, this is your specialty, deal with it! She's not a mean cat, she's just scared. I will never return!
