Click to report rating    5/8/18   5     4     5     4   What a pleasant place. The staff is warm and inviting. Even the customers are a treat! Snevill responded so well to the Dr/clinic. Thanks for taking good care of this K9 . I spent 5 years working around my ex GF vet clinic in eastern Canada. This one is top notch! RID: 66100
Click to report rating    12/6/16   5     5     4     4   Dr. Fredlund is an amazing vet. She has taken care of all 3 of my dogs who are all rescues and one with some serious trust issues. She is always wonderful with her. I'm so happy that we found her. RID: 62134
Click to report rating    7/9/16   1     4     2     1   I brought my cat this clinic. Met with Dr. cary hashizume. She is the worst vet I've ever met. She was very mechanical, insensitive, unprofessional. I honestly don't know how she got her license. She doesn't care about the pets and treats them all like clients. I will never go back to this clinic because of this vet. She shouldn't be a vet. RID: 61071
Click to report rating    11/6/14   5     4     4     4   Our beloved pet of 14 years became very ill very suddenly. Dr. Fredlund was very compassionate in his final days as was the rest of the staff and it made his passing a little easier. Calgary Trail has the best interest of your pet. RID: 54498
Click to report rating    3/29/14   5     5     5     5   I followed Dr. van Boxtel to Calgary Trail from her previous clinic because I trust her judgement with my small furry family members. She has provided exceptional guidance and really gone the extra mile in terms of doing research and consulting with specialists for my dog who has three significant diseases. I have absolutely no doubt that without Dr. van Boxtel's excellent advice and compassionate care that my dog's duration and quality of life would have both been diminished. The front desk staff are all great and have treated me and my dog with kindness, particularly when she's been especially ill. The "nurses" have been great in teaching me how to administer my dog's insulin and educating me about her various medications. We have also seen Dr. Fredlund at this clinic and I highly recommend her too. RID: 50759
Click to report rating    3/21/14   3     5     4     3   My visit here wasn't too bad. Front end was good. Punctual. Fees were ok. The vet wasn't the most pleasant though (Dr. Van Boxtel). But we all have bad days. Hours are decent. RID: 50615

Click to report rating    8/11/13   3     4     4     2   Been a client for years but its time to find a new clinic as I have lost faith in their ability to truly understand when a pet parent has a concern. When you sense something is wrong and you think your dog is showing signs of neurological illness and you get told that your dog has hairy ears that causes her to shake he head. Weeks later the dog starts having seizures and the hunch was right and another clinic reviews the file and asks why has there been no recent blood work as the dog has a thyroid condition and elevated liver enzymes. The other doctors laughed at the hairy ears diagnosis and said no follow up was done in the past. I guess as a pet parent you're obligated to give the best quality of life possible. After endless amounts of nickling and dining us, I've found a better clinic. One that truly cares for your pet and its not CTPH. That must be why pet owners are switching to other clinics. RID: 46212
Click to report rating    7/9/13   5     5     5     1   We had taken our dogs for all of their lives to the Calgary Trail Pet Hospital. Once they moved to their new facilities their costs skyrocketed. We were quoted $900.00 or so to remove a growth from the eyelid from one of our dogs. "We'll just snip it off" were the words from the vet. We went to another clinic recommended by a friend, got a quote of $300.00 and ended up paying less than $300.00 to get the growth removed. How is that? $600.00 difference....really? You can draw your own conclusion from our experience. RID: 43567
Click to report rating    5/1/13   5     5     5     5   My family started going to this vet clinic when I was a small child and my pets still go there to this day 15 years later. The first pet that was every seriously sick that we took there, wasn't expected to make it through the night. Dr. Sheffield (Dr is still with this clinic) took my cat home with her that night to make sure she was ok. My two dogs have both had health issues and the clinic has always gone above and beyond in every way to make sure they receive the best care. A few days ago I had to put asleep my best friend of 13 years that has been a patient there since we got him at 8 weeks. Dr. Fredlund took every possible step to go way beyond what most vets would do to try to find a solutions. From spending HOURS in consults with specialists and doing tons of research. Being a person that works in the veterinary medicine field as well, I consider this place to be made up of some of the best vets I have ever had the pleasure to come across. Great staff all around and great vets! RID: 42215
Click to report rating    2/8/13   5     5     4     4   I have been visiting this clinic for 3 years and have never had an issue. The staff are great. I can call and ask a question and I will recieve a call back from a lab tech with an answer. They are amazing and all about customer service! RID: 40263
Click to report rating    7/19/12   1     2     1     1   I will be transferring to another vet asap! I have been bringing our dogs to this vet for 5 years now. Ever since they have moved they seem to charge for every little cost. I called their desk awhile ago asking for an estimate of what the cost would be for a certain visit, and also it was a follow up. They said roughly $80.-$100. and i will not be charged an examination fee. WELL,,,wrong! The dr initially quoted me 280.00, and then said the receptionist cannot quote amts. Well, the bill was lowered, but I am not happy. RID: 35748
Click to report rating    7/14/12   3     5     4     3   I have been with Calgary Trail Pet Hospital for several years but as they have moved to their new location in Southpark Village by Canadian Tire, I personally haven't been happy. I find that they have started to nickel and dime our visits. We have had two dogs with yeast problems and its been a recurring problem. We had one vet do the diagnosis and the "tape test." We went back 8 to 9 months later with the same problem and we told another vet it was yeast, well he wanted to do the tape test. After $90, it was yeast. We've talked to our regular vet there and she said she could have pulled up the file and looked at the previous diagnosis without charging us again. Sure it has the Chief Provincial veterinarian as the owner but I'm thinking we're paying extra for the fancy digs. Maybe its time to look elsewhere. RID: 35645
Click to report rating    7/11/12   5     5     5     5   Yesterday was my first time at Calgary Trail Pet Hospital. I was putting down a sick little hamster. Amazing service, the staff were all so symphatetic, regardless if it was only a hamster. The vet was awesome and answered all of my queastions very clearly. They made me feel better and that what I was doing was the right thing. They worked around their schedule to fit me in (becuase I was at work for the day) and charged me the minimum for this procedure because it was clear my hamster was very sick. I had actually called a few clinics and chose this one over otheres based on how polite they were on the telephone and that they ensured my needs were met that day. If I ever have to be back at a vet hopsital in my future It will definitely be Calgary Trail Pet Hospital. Thanks to everyone their for the wonderful service!! RID: 35574
Click to report rating    7/11/11   5     5     5     5   I trust this team with all my beloved pets! have been bringing all my critters to them for 10 years. i have always received exceptional service! I recommend all my family, friends, and clients to them because i full heartedly trust they will show as much care and compassion they have shown me and my family of furries in the last decade. RID: 26145
Click to report rating    4/15/11   5     4     3     5   My pets were patients at the clinic for five years. Throughout that period I recieved exceptional services. The vets, techs and reception staff were incredibily supportive and compassionate during the long illnesses of my two pets. Vets provided clear explanations of procedures, costs and potential benefits of treatments and alternatives while keeping in clear perspective the quality of life for my pets. Lab technicians were readily available to assist with problems and to train me to provide sub-q fluids. It was obvious that my pets felt comfortable with the team. Client services staff are always pleasant and friendly and greet most clients by first name. Vet was not always prompt, however this was due to ensuring concerns were addressed and that clients fully understood medications or procedures. I never felt like a "number" or $$$ when visiting this clinic. RID: 24424
