Dr. Maloney and her staff are just what the Doctor ordered as far as I am concerned. Dr. Maloney makes her diagnosis as best she can without going to extremes financially without my consent. I am aware that there have been some negative remarks made about this hospital, but the same can be said about every other practice here in Nanaimo. I have been treated with respect to my financial and personal position at the Cat Clinic. They have treated my 4-legged friends with love and compassion and I bless them for that. I recently had to say goodbye to one of my best furry friends. I am glad it was Dr. Maloney and her staff that were there to help me through it. I would back them up 100%.

The Cat Clinic vets and staff took excellent and reasonably priced care of my cat Cuba for her whole life. At age 11, Cuba developed lymphoma that had progressed past the point of treatment before she showed any symptoms. Dr. Catherine Maloney and the caring people who work with her helped us through Cuba's last weeks and her passing in the most comforting, gentle, and loving way possible. We will be grateful to them forever for keeping her healthy during her life and for bending rules and helping us hold her and ease her death. We are now adopting another cat and will absolutely be returning to the Cat Clinic.

I've taken 2 cats here. The first one was a stray with a badly infected eye. The male doctor there told me to return her to the owners who abandoned her/and didn't get her medical treatment. He then gave us the wrong meds, forcing us to go to another vet when it became worse. The last one as well was a stray, with 1 infected eye. The cost of his neuter, vaccinations and eye treatment was over 400. Which is double any other vet place in town does. She diagnosed him with entropion, which is the third eye lid turning inwards. It can be primary or secondary. She said secondary and then gave us antibiotics for it. It got worse. So she suggested surgery to correct the issue, even though that's typically for primary entropion and his other eye looked "great". 2 weeks later, shockingly his other eye had entropion. She is a scam artist that misdiagnoses for more money. She doesn't care at all about patients unless it's making her some cash. We won't be back.

my cat spent its last days in pain and misery thx to two vets at this clinic Huge ulcers in his mouth and tongue. He was put down after blood started dripping from his mouth. I noticed the large ulcers after he died. when my other cat got ill, my new vet clinic gave me two kinds of meds to help sooth the mouth and relieve her suffering from the acid reflux. it torments me that my first cat wasnt given this option and we may have put him down prematurely. this is my opinion only, based on how we were marginalized and treated. i would never suggest anyone use this clinic for their chronically ill or elderly cat. I refused to go back after my second cat was hurt during blood testing rhat she was unable to walk for two days (elderly with arthritis) the staff refused owners to be with animals during testing & this suggests to me that their handling of pets may not be as gentle as most of us would prefer. my cat was injured
