Took my cat here out of desperation. She had stopped drinking water. Problem was crystals in her urine. I was charged for antibiotics, steroids, and homeopathy, with no consultation. When I questioned the prescriptions, I was told it was standard. No thank you. Homeopathy is quackery, she recovered quickly without it and we will never take our animals there again. Utter garbage.

Do not take your pet here. Doctor is gruff, unpleasant and only cares about money. My cat came home from her spay covered in feces. One of my dogs he brushed off as kennel cough after we were concerned she had swallowed something. He did no tests, no x-rays, just rubbed her throat said she was fine and charged us nearly $700. Our other dog he decided had an inner ear infection, again no tests, no blood work, x-rays, nothing. We took the dog to another vet the next day, several tests done, he has a lesion on his spine.THIS VET DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS. THIS VET WILL OVERCHARGE FOR NOTHING. THIS VET WILL UNAPOLOGETICALLY MISDIAGNOS SERIOUS PROBLEMS AND DO NOTHING FOR YOU. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS TO THIS MAN.

I took my little dog, FiFi, in to the vet today for updating her shots. This vet clearly cares a lot about my pet and is careful with her. Yes, I had to wait a little. I appears the vet was out on a call with a needy pooch. I have been going here for over 6 years during which time the care was excellent. I shall be back.

I have been going to Main Street Veterinary Hospital for several years. Dr. Smith saved my dog's life after numerous seizures, and we have had excellent results with both our second dog, too. We are very happy with the prompt and timely service. Dr. Smith also add homeopathic options to his treatments which also prove beneficial.

Great vet very knowledgeable! Go's out of his way to explain how to use medications as well as how to improve animals health. Prices are very reasonable and he helped me save money on my prescription

It's all about the $$$$$ with this guy! He is still selling grain free foods in spite of all the factual information on the dangers of feeding this to dogs. Choose your vet carefully -- your babies are depending on you!!!

Dr Smith always has a plan with many extra treatment options available, from homeopathic to additional therapies, along with the expert knowledge to help your pup get better. The vet who read my last 11 yr old girls chart when I brought her to emerg, as Dr Smith was on a weekend course, couldnt believe she was still alive after reading her chart. She was shocked & said it was a testimony to how well I had taken care of her. Wasn’t me! Dr S. had extra homeopathic helps to heal her up every time.

All about the money. The vet claims to be homeopathic but he sure doesn't know anything about essential oils. He gave me very incorrect and dangerous advise about putting lavender on my cat who already had kidney issues. The oil burned her skin!!! His reply was that I needed to be careful with lavender!!! Never his fault.... There is no way this hospital will ever see one of my beloved babies.

About 2 wks I took my 11yr old golden retriever (Baily) to the Main Street Vet. Dr Smith did blood work and X-rays. It was determined that we would treat him for an infection and go from there. After a few days of medication he began to improve and by the time he finished his medication Bailey was 100%. Thanks to Dr. Smith and the Staff at Main Street Vetrtinary Hospital. Oh and Baily would like to wish everyone in the office a very Merry Christmas and he hopes to see you in 2018.

Our 12 year old Lab was suffering with arthritis and hip issues, and deteriorating rapidly. We went as a family thinking we may have to say goodbye. Dr Smith suggested acupuncture. The response was visible and immediate. My boy who I had to help stand was getting up on his own, and trotting to the car. We just got home from our second appointment -biannual visits-- and Buddy is raring to go. We're off to to Killarney lake for a 8km hike. Have to say, I find the staff very professional and have had great experiences with all of them. They always remember Buddy and when they can, come to give him a pet and some affection. I have lived across Canada and had dogs for 30 years -- this vet and his staff are as good as any I've seen and a heck of a lot better than most! Thanks to Main Street Buddy has quality of life.... Off to the lake!

We have only been with Dr Smith for a few years but can't say enough good things. Our older black lab could hardly walk a few years ago. Dr Smith got him on all sorts of vitamins and supplements and it brought him around. Then in the last yell at he recommended acupuncture. Well Franklin runs like a puppy again. He is 13 years old and if it wasn't for Dr Smith we may have had to put him down. I can't thank him enough. He also went above to help my aunt who was on social assistance with her cat. And a good friend of mines Rottweiler was knocking on deaths door with cancer and had been over medicated by another vet. Dr Smith weened her off medication and she came right around. The staff also was there to help with our Great Dane after her TPLO surgery. Another vet wouldn't X-ray without sedation. Not at Main Street. They helped me get her on the table and made the experience a lot less stressful for my girl. I love it there and would go no where else.

We have been going to Dr. Smith for 21 years and have been very satisfied with the clinic. I like the fact that he is open to natural remedies instead of always pills. He has never put our dog or cat through any unnecessary tests.

DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC! We took our brand new puppy to this clinic and waited and waited for our appointment. When we finally got in Dr. Smith was very rough with our young dog and didn't seem to care about him at all. He also told us neutering/spaying was something they only do in North America and Europeans don't fix their dogs so it isn't necessary! As if the world needs more puppies! After that appointment we never went back and I never would again!

I could go on and on about why not to take your pet to this clinic. Staff constantly changes and it is evident why. If you have a 10:00 apt. book your day off. Dr.Smith likes to talk about anything but your pet. He has 2 rooms and he is all about selling only his products. He has had to many co-vets working their for them to even get to know your pet. I am not going to go into details about our pets and the lack of knowledge care or compassion they didn't provide for them. I have a new pet and I can assure you that he will not be going to this clinic. As I told my friend; "If I had a goldfish I wouldn't bring it there."

I have been coming to Dr. Smith for years, and he has always been very understanding and caring when it came to all of my pets. He is very knowledgable and compassionate. I would "HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. SMITH." As for the staff; when I come in to get my pets food and flea& worm medicine I am greeted with very friendly and knowledgable staff. His prices are very reasonable in fact the best when it came to neuturing and spaying.

I brought my dog there for an ear infection. I was told that my appointment was at 12:45, but when I got there, there were 4 other people in the waiting room, and only one vet. I waited for over an hour before going in. The vet was clearly in a rush, grabbed the ear drops and shoved it in my dog's ear. He was NOT careful at all, and hearing my dog cry in pain made me sick to my stomach. He then rudely told me that I wasn't holding him right and made it seem like it was my fault. The only good thing about him is that he took the time to show me a diagram of an infected ear so I understood better how to administer the drops. The front desk wasn't much better either. I was standing right in front of her, waiting to pay, and she was clearly avoiding serving me. I will NEVER go there again and I suggest that you don't either.
