Horrible Vet! the surgery my dog received was well done - but it was not done by them....the after care is awful! very bad communication between myself and the vet and the technicians....when asked to explain charges - they change their story to accommodate them - never once given the benefit of the doubt....will never recommend them or ever go back!

Would recommend not using this facility! The clinic staff clearly prioritize money over the welfare and health of their clients. I took my CKC registered dog in for ear trouble. After an exam, medication and a $200+ bill we left feeling good about the visit. However, after using the full bottle of ear drops and waiting an extra week to see if the issue resolved, were were not in any better position, as my dog was not better. The vet clearly misdiagnosed the ailment and prescribed an incorrect treatment (that was rather costly to begin with). I emailed them and they told me to bring him back and they would charge me a reduced examination fee of $70 instead of the $100+ exam fee. Can you imagine a place that provides an incorrect diagnosis and then asks the client to pay for the vet's mistake....I explained I felt this wasn't a good policy, the receptionist simply said that's the way it is.

Taunton Road Animal Hospital is by far the best clinic around. The staff, no matter who always have a kind word and a pat on the head for your baby. Dr. Tracy is thorough and knowledgeable and only wants whats best for your pet. Sam loved Dr. Tracy and his visits. She took great care of him and was genuinely interested in his well being. Dr. Tracy took the time each morning to call and check up on him for a week and was always available to answer a question. You know you have a great vet when she has to catch herself before delivering bad news. The doctors and staff helped us send Sam off with love and compassion as they did when he was alive and well. As for pricing, even if they do cost a little more they more then make up for it for the love and care they give. Thank you for taking such good care of Sam and helping to make sure his journey forward was comfortable and painless.

dr smith is great. other doc was not as great. waited a long time this time..maybe there was an emergency? Cost was shockingly expensive for basic tests and brief exam! I can't help but think they are paying for a huge mortgage for their new, very fancy building, so they might need to charge more for their services. Will consider doing lab work elsewhere and maybe continue with smith for serious stuff.

Loved this clinic for many years but now find myself forced to go elsewhere due to the outrageous fees that they charge. Dr. Smith is by far the best vet I have ever known and wish I could afford to continue to use them. Other vets are more affordable.

I found the vet we dealt with to be caring and understanding. I would recommend them. We needed help with our cat who needed emergency dental care and with their cooperation, we were able to take care of the problem asap. We weren't even charged for certain appointments. We were able to develop a rapport with the vet who was friendly and listened to our concerns.

Doctors are great, we always see Dr. Smith-she's amazing, really cares about your pet not just your money. Front staff are good for the most part, although seem distracted on their cells all the time. Love their facebook page although seems to be becoming spam like with the same internet pictures and nothing else, would love to see more things about the clinic and staff. Clinic is small but they say they are moving soon which should be nice.

We switched to Taunton Road Animal Hospital last year and it was one of the best decisions our family has made. We generally see Dr. Tracy Smith and Dr. Barb Phillips but all the staff are all genuinely friendly and treat your pet like their own. They always follow up with you and are concerned for the health of your pet. I really appreciate that! Prices are reasonable for the level of service that they provide. I would highly recommend this practice!

We have lived in the Clarington area for 12 years and still took our dogs to an amazing Vet an hour away because we trusted no one else. After loosing our two fur babies at 16 1/2 years of age, this year we decided we were ready to take the plunge again. A close family friend and also our neighbour, who coincidentally had the same Vet at this clinic, convinced us to give a specific female vet at this Clinic a chance. Well we did and I cannot believe how happy we are with the decision. She is wonderful with the two puppies. We have no complaints about the staff, they are always pleasant and helpful. Yes it is pricier but we realize you get what you pay for and she does not set the prices, someone else does, and think of the gas money and time we are saving. She is so gentle with the puppies they love her, the little girl fell asleep while she was examining her. I can only say alot of great things about our experience and service here and I love their Facebook page.

Fees are higher than most but if the vet is good, it is worth it. But charging $59 or more for a 10 minute follow up visit to be assured what the doctor prescribed was the corrective measure is taking advantage. Hoff was better.

The costs at this clinic are ridiculous. The front desk staff can be very rude and seem uncaring. There are other clinics that don't charge as much and the staff are more compassionate. I have never been to a clinic where they make you feel guilty because you don't bring a fecal sample. Beware, they may charge you for the fecal exam beforehand and tell you to drop one off, so they have your money whether you do or don't.

Dr. Coleman has helped me out quite a few times when he worked emerg in Whitby. It's great that he has his own clinic now. The vets at this clinic take the time to figure out what's going on before recommending a bunch of tests. I appreciate their caring approach. Wouldn't go anywhere else !

The costs at this clinic have become rediculous since Dr. Hogg's retirement. The new owner is rude. The other vets are good. I had been using their services for a long time but an now seriously looking elesewhere. Too bad, but for the new owner I like the rest of the staff. If not for him I would have rated the staff as a 5. It seems like money is the driving concern at this practice now.

In my opinion, the best vets you can get for your pets. I've seen many police dogs (that get THE best treatment) here over the years and that should tell you something. I moved away from the area but still drive a hefty distance to get back there when my dog needs something. As for price, they are reasonable for the service you get. Saved me big $'s over the years. My vet for life.

The receptionists are not compassionate. I was calling about putting down my precious dog and she was rude and cut me off as I was trying to explain the situation through my tears. The costs at this clinic are very high and not explained unless you ask for a breakdown. The vets are good at this clinic, but there are other clinics that do the same services for less money. The receptionists need customer service and sensitivity training.

The vets seem to know what they are doing. But do not inform you of exactly what that is and what the cost will be. Quite simply the highest vet bills I have ever come across.

I took my cats here based on a friend's reccomendation. I will no longer have any services with this vet. The staff were no help at giving me phone numbers for surrendering one of my cats to shelters.I called the cat hospital once and they gave me 5 phone numbers.I also got a perscription filled, was told to pick it up in an hour and went in and wasn't ready, had to wait until end of day becasue vet was too busy and forgot.Lastly, just had my cat put down and vet screwed up euthanism, needle didn't go in on first attempt and had to shave other leg and inject. Also waited a long time while kitty was sedated. I will NOT be going back for these reasons, also did NOT find staff to be very compassionate! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!!

Vets are generally good. Still sell the Hill's brand, Royal Canin med food. They need to get with the newer, healthier brands. Biggest complaint is the staff that work the desk. Should be handling things like insurance forms for you instead it often seems like you're bothering them. They could use the internet to get/print forms but they choose not to. Customer pays the bills, trying to make things easier for them should be the first priority. They've even screwed up med labels on more than one occasion. You'd think that would be something you don't want to mess up. But vets are generally good, although sometimes it feels like they're rushing you.
