6/24/11   2     2     1     1   i took my 8 mth old dachsund there with vomiting and diarrhea. he was diagnosed with parvo. they said he had to stay for approx. 7 days and it would cost anywhere from $1000 to $1300. they kept him for 9 days and charged me $2083 plus 51 for a prescription i had to pick up and bring back to them. the vet told me to pick him up because he just needed to eat and he would do better at home. she gave me 6 meds and 1 hour he got home he went into shock. i took him back to the vet because he was suffering too much. they charged me another $70 to put him to sleep and cremate him. This was horrible, for me and for my dog. i would never ever take an animal there again. the cage they had him was dirty and smelled terrible. they just put him in the cage and only looked in on him for meds and an attempt at disgusting food. my dog was an emotional support service animal and helped me to overcome agoraphobia. now what? Click to report rating    7/22/10   5     5     5     5   We ahve been going to Latham Animal Hospital since we got our dog in 1995.We have NEVER had a problme and everyone there has always been kind and efficient. We had to bring our dog in for emergency service on a sunday and we were met at the door and they took Sage right in and took care of her. We love Dr. Rafter and all the vets and staff there. Click to report rating    8/5/09   1     3     1     2   3 days ago my husband and I adopted a dog from a shelter with some known behavioral issues. When we arrived the front desk staff was very understanding and kind. An agressive dog came in while we were waiting and began bearing his teeth, growling and snarling at myself and my small dog. My dog unfortuntately barks incessantly at other dogs and is agressive although has never growled or bore her teeth. In the exam room the vet was extremely irritable and snapped at my husband and I numerous times about our dog's beahvior. She told us that she should have never been adopted out. I am aware that my dog has behavioral problems that need attention. I had no moral issue with musseling her to be sure that staff was safe; however the vet was extermemly harsh and rude. The vet even blamed us for the other animals acting up because of my dog's loud barking before we could get her around the agressive dog to bring her outside to calm down. Fair prices IF we had recieved good service. RID: 13730
Click to report rating    8/18/08   2     3     2     2   The vets there are not very friendly. We had been taking all our animals there, but have since changed vets due to lack of care. The last straw was when one of our Rat Terriers got sick. They thought it was a UTI. They gave us medicine, but she only got worse, so we brought her back. The vet didn't even really care to see her and just gave us a higher dose of medicine. We knew this was not helping and took her to Bought Vet for a second opinion. When we brought her in the vet there looked at her and did an emergency surgery for a kidney stone. If we waited one more day she would have been dead! Needless to say you now know who our new vet is. RID: 9693
Click to report rating    5/23/07   1     2     2     3   I took my minpin here once. Granted, he's not friendly, but the staff acted like he was the worst dog they'd ever seen. They muzzled him, and pinned him down to the point he was yelping, and then they stuck a needle in while he was still moving, and he ripped it out. They all were complaining the entire time, even while they were cleaning up blood from their ignorance. Go see Dr. Burns at Bayberry, he's MUCH more passionate, and personable. You are just a number and a problem at Latham Animal Hospital RID: 4066
