Appallingly bad end of life treatment for my much loved Shiba Inu, no compassion, flexibility or kindness. Insisted I bring him in repeatedly to get a urine sample, and each time we had to get the cone on him, which is very traumatizing, and of course he peed in the car. Several people informed us that most vets will let you get your own sample- and I was very careful and sterilized the bottle, but they would not accept this, and when I complained about it I was informed that we were not allowed back. And we paid 500 for this shoddy treatment. Very upsetting. No kindness from this clinic at all.

The staff at the front desk were not at all helpful. On the contrary, they were extremely rude and made me feel very unwelcome in their office. The story would take too long to explain here. I have sought legal advice to help me resolve the issue they refused to acknowledge or take responsibility for. Under no circumstances, would I ever use the services of this clinic again.

Clients of mine took their puppy to Merecroft as it had diarrhea with blood and had vomited and collapsed, to weak to eat or drink. When they called me they were very upset as the veterinarian had told them that their puppy would likely be dead within 24 hrs. The recommendation was to take the puppy to Canada West as it likely had parvo but would likely not survive the trip. This diagnosis was made with a visual inspection (lethargic - calling it underweight), temperature (was normal) and heart rate (also normal). I spoke with the vet on the phone and explained this was a simple case of hypoglycemia that the puppy was dehydrated and had low-blood sugar. The vet hung up on me. You read that right, they would not listen to the breeder and presented no solutions other than "this dog is sick and going to die". My clients were in distress and this clinic displayed no compassion or professionalism at all. We brought the pup to my vet and she was better the next day. Simple hypoglycemia. Sad

Had a failure to thrive kitten, thought we would take her to Dr Kwong as the clinic promoted its "alternative" approach which seemed appropriate to chronic coughing/rapid heart rate/slow growth... was given a price chart "per" alternative method and strongly urged to vaccinate the kitten immediately even though I wondered aloud whether her immune system could handle vaccine - kitten listless after shots and died that night from vaccine. all about the $.

did not seem to care about my kitten, one staff was very unfriendly and would not answer a question about the procedure that we had, kind of humiliated us. we came to pick up our kitten, no vet in sight to explain, just a tech that did not smile or say hello-but says your cat was coughing so we gave him a shot, keep an eye on him and call your own vet-wtf i live 2 hours away...this is a simple neuter but bad service and unasnswered questions dont go there

I had Dr.Kwong for my dog for at least 6 yrs maybe 7 yrs. I think she is very knowledgeable but does not know how to pass this knowledge on to the pet owners. Well I can only speak for myself and my dog. She always seemed afraid of our dog and it seemed to me to be a very limited yearly exam. I recomended to her from my groomer when we first moved to C.R. and he is very good with animals. I no longer use this clinic and am so pleased I found a new Dr. that really cares for my dog and explanes exactly what he thinks I should be doing for my pet. Also it working very well. I do not like to right bad reviews, in fact this is probably the only one I have written.

Dr Kwong and her staff are the most amazing team. Her knowledge, expertise, and compassion are exemplary. She is definitely the best vet on the Island. She treats the pets as if they are her own, and cares as much for the human family members too. I have two dogs that she has been taking care of for the past 10 years. She has kept my old lady alive way beyond her expected years. An outstanding veterinary practice. Keep up the wonderful work

My kitten was taken to the Merecroft clinic on 23rd December as he had started to vomit bile and seemed very sick. Absolutely no compassion or knowledge shown. I was given a list of services and their costs ( it being a weekend so it wasn't an inexpensive visit) with no guidance or advice as to what ought to be done. He was diagnosed as being stressed. He was dead in under 24 hours.

Helen Kwong is the best Vet ever! She is gentle and compassionate to all of our pets and has been our vet for over 15 years now. We love her.

Exceptional Clinic - they go over and WAY beyond for our animals. Dr Kwong is the most wonderful, smart vet I have used in North America - She is so compassionate, and cares for your animals as if they are her own - I Highly recommend her to everyone.
