I live over 300kms away and I make a point to get my two dogs checked by Dr Sims on my regular trips to Kingston. She is treating one of my fur babies who is approaching the end of his life and she is just so compassionate and understanding. For emergencies - i go local but for treating illnesses and conditions she's my go-to person. I trust her more than any other vet i've dealt with in the past 14 years. All the staff at Sims Animal Hospital are friendly and caring too. Best vet ever.

My animals and I are always treated exceedingly well. Heather and staff exhibit care and compassion at all times. Highly recommended.

both vets and much of the staff have looked after my 3 pets and my daughter's 3 pets with great care and patience with both the pets and us as owners. I felt the tests recommended were appropriate with cost being a consideration and the seriousness of the situation. Their compassion is outstanding, they call and email for reminder appointments and follow up calls after appointments. They get an easy 5 out of 5 in our books.

I did not have a good first experience at this clinic. I had to wait over 30min for my appointment, even though I was on time. They quoted prices over the phone, but when I wanted my dog's nails trimmed - it was extra. I found their vaccine fees expensive. The staff didn't seem to care I had to wait so long. I didn't feel well treated here...

Caring, honest, kind, knowledgeable, always on top of the latest or anything that might be helpful - will explain and discuss pros and cons. Everyone is treated as a valued long time customer and given 100% attention... I've tried about 10 vets in 3 countries over 12 years. Dr. Sims and staff are tops.

SIMS Animal Clinic is lovely, and the staff all act sweet and caring. However, they are in it for the money first. They are also not as knowledgeable as other vets, and will put your pet down because they don't have all of the expertise that other vets have. They just give up. ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION BEFORE LETTING THEM EUTHANIZE YOUR PET. Also, be VERY careful with the tests they decide to give your pet. They will throw in things that are COMPLETELY unrelated to what is wrong with your pet (e.g. I brought a pet in for a breathing problem, and they decided to do tests on his CORNEAS because they noticed something weird in one of his eyes. I don't care if my pet's vision is funky, I'm trying to save his LIFE here so please don't throw in completely random tests and charge hundreds of extra dollars! They trick you because they'll take advantage of your worry and love for your pet, and explain things in very complicated terms that not everyone is able to understand. BE CAREFUL).

Dr Sims and her staff in my opinion are by far the best veterinary facility and staff in Kingston East. We changed from the Barriefield clinic to Dr Sims clinic because she and her staff are warm, confident, professional and compassionate. There is also an excellent groomer at the clinic with good rates.

Dr. Sims worked for me years ago, and I still regret her leaving. Very knowledgeable and ethical. I wish you the very best Dr. Sims.

Sims is terrific. You will not find a more knowledgeable and caring vet in Kingston. Almost a year ago, we had a scary situation with our dog, but Sims' treatment was superb--her surgical work and thoroughness was even complimented by an external pathology laboratory. On the day we picked our dog up, after surgery, Sims even called late in the evening just to check on him (and us!).

let me begin by saying I've very experienced in regard to veterinary care and am very quick to spot and find fault where it is to be found. I was VERY pleased with the treatment and advice I received from Dr Sims! I was especially thankful she displayed non of that arrogance many vets have when faced with pet caregivers who have hands on approach to their pets care and she did not dismiss my experience or knowledge are many are inclined to do. She advised without pushing treatments or medications and even went to the trouble to find us the help we were looking for elsewhere. She also took an extraordinary amount of time on a busy clinic day [they worked our appointment in that morning] to explain and show me hands on what symptoms we were looking for despite the fact I made it clear I just wanted to make my dog comfortable in the time left to her - so no $$$ to be made of us in meds and surgery for cancer.

Oh where to start. My take on Dr. Sims is this. She pretends she is very sweet and caring but in my opinion its all about the money. I know of two cases where she kept an animal in the hospital where in both cases the animal would have done better at home. She let one poor cat suffer for over two weeks in the hospital and wouldn't even try an alternative. She has also had problems with other Vets namely Barriefield Animal Hospital. I would not recommend her to anyone. Please if you go remember her word is not always gospel.
