Click to report rating    4/2/19   5     5     5     5   Excellent care for our senior dog. Dr. Carr took time to explain in detail the options available and listened to our wishes. She did not attempt to coerce us to have any diagnostics and the visit was very reasonably priced. We were comfortable with the agreed upon plan of care. Oscar and my family received compassionate, caring service. I would highly recommend Markdale Veterinary Clinic. RID: 67855
Click to report rating    2/27/19   1     4     1     1   Oh man. Where do I begin! I went in and they basically told me I was a horrible pet parent for feeding a healthy diet that isn’t some corn based atrocity that they sell. The vet was completely and utterly personality-less and kept pushing ridiculous procedures on my very healthy dog. I went in for a freaking check up, not a robbery. I basically paid their astronomical fee and left. Screw that place. RID: 67411

2/4/17   2     2     2     1   I have found them too aggressive about pushing unnecessary treatments (a dog with somewhat itchy feet with no sign of swelling or secondary infection being prescribed not only vanectyl P, but also tried to get me to buy antiobiotics ('in case there might be a secondary infection'), a very expensive monthly Apoquel ($100+ per month, per dog) AND a very pricey prescription dog food that of course you can only buy from them. Heard them trying to push dew claw removal surgery on a breeder who's breed naturally has double dew claws with 12 puppies when the pups were already 8 weeks old and just being brought in for their first shots!!! Small animal practice clearly viewed as ca$h cow at this clinic.. RID: 62551
Click to report rating    5/17/15   3     3     3     1   Our dog Faith somehow cut herself under her front leg. The cut was very clean but gaping and required stitches. We called the Markdale clinic and asked if we could bring Faith in and asked for a ball park figure as to the cost. They said maybe about $150. Left home with Faith and drove 30 minutes to the clinic. Once there we were quoted $580.to $980. and seen that the visit price alone was $123.00 for every 15 minutes. The quote being possibly 10 times the price quoted on the phone, we just could not afford to have Faith treated. We left the clinic with a bill for $150. for antibiotics and our poor injured dog. I felt like crying. We have dealt with this clinic before for large animals and have always been treated fairly. This was my first visit to the small animal side of the business. Guess it's not about the animals anymore. RID: 57034
