I took my dog in for a respiratory issue and was given a prescription for medicine and an xray was recommended. There was no mention of the cost of an x-ray. From having read online, I estimated xray would be $250.00 max. The clinic never told me ahead of time that the chest xray would be $500.00. I never thought to ask because I assumed it would be a reasonable charge! I had the xray done and when I went to pay I was then informed of the fee -- after the fact. Moral of the story.... always make sure to ask about the cost of treatment before proceeding.... $500.00 for a chest xray for a small dog is outrageous.. and unethical.

I foster dogs for a Rescue organization that had been using Clearbrook Animal hospital for 14 years. Over the years there have been many issues:administering wrong dosages of meds, prescriptions with hand written labels, infections post surgeries and wrong diagnoses. It's now to the point of serious negligence and service to clients.Staff and vets being rude, difficulty getting clear answers;messages not responded to,calls not returned; update on dog's conditions provided only in a cursory manner.
This behavior has all led to a recent tragedy. One of our dogs has died after not being treated properly during and post major surgery. It determined by the autopsy done by the animal emergency clinic vet to which she had to be rushed,that our vet who did the surgery was not equipped to handle such a major surgery. Plus, their evidence points to the surgery done by our vet as having been done in non-sterile circumstances! No accountability- no compassion- no ethics!

My dog died after treatment at this vet clinic. She had surgery, was released back to me in very poor shape with a warning "she is not out of the woods yet. Take her to Abbotsford Pet Hospital if she gets worse!." Unfortunately instead of taking her home, I should have taken her directly to the Abbotsford Pet Hospital as she died within hours of getting home and was in so much pain after surgery at Clearbrook Animal Hospital, she was wailing. Before I took her there she was in such bad shape the vet said I should euthanize her, shaking his head saying she does not look good. He charged me over $2000 for exploratory surgery and could not wait to get her out of the clinic as it was closing time and he was worried about paying his receptionist. His wife, who I do not believe is a vet, assisted with the surgery. If you want to save your pet and your money, take your sick pet elsewhere. I would never go back! Be warned.

Our dog has congenital kidney disease which we discovered after her spay surgery. Dr.VJ and his staff took excellent care of her for weeks. It was touch and go if she would make it but with their help and concern for Roxy, and putting her on a special organic diet she has thrived.

I have an indoor cat and did not have a vet. My cat sustained a serious injury and I rushed there for help after a quick call. It will be a 6 week process of healing and I cannot say enough good things about this team. They were beyond fair to me, allowed me to drop him off before and after work, and offered to assist with caging during the times he could not move. I have cried a thousand tears about this injury and my cat is so sweet and loved. I trust them implicitly with my cat. They have kept him safe and comfortable with the best care possible. The doctor used common sense and good judgment on how to treat his injury and it was successful!

Took my Puppy there to be neutered. The staff was very nice and caring. They finished up with him early and had us on our way. The gave us meds and a cone for a very good price. They even called the next day to follow up and see how he was doing. Couldn't be happier with this animal hospital :)

I can't say enough wonderful things about Clearbrook Animal Hospital. My little 3 yr. old Chihuahua, Sweet Pea, is always treated like gold there. The staff and the doctor are kind, caring and compassionate. Carrie is an amazing assistant, remembering my last visit in detail! Before I came here, another vet had told me that Sweet Pea's dental work (3 extractions) would cost $1500. Cottonwood only charged me $350 and they allowed me to make payments due to financial difficulties. I will never take my fur babies anywhere else. Highly recommended!

Not very friendly or compassionate. They wouldn't even let me be with my baby while they examined her. Then she was caged for the night all alone when I could have just brought her home and brought her in the next morning. No check up calls after to see how she was doing and no reminder call to come back. Seemed a lil pricey too. Will not reuse or recommend.

I was absolutely appalled by the care I received from Clearbrook animal hospital. I brought my 18 week old German Shepherd there after inadvertently ingesting a natural calming supplement. My dog was unresponsive when I first left him with Dr. VJ and when I was called to come and pick him up, his condition had worsened. He was in a full blown grand mal seizure, was hyperthermic and was soiling himself. I was beyond traumatized by the condition of him. If it weren’t for the Abbotsford Emergency Clinic, I would have lost my precious pet. Not only was the care horrific, the Vet was not even present when I picked up my dog and I was not sent home with any instruction. I would never recommend this vet to anyone!

We brought our two rabbits in to be spayed/neutered. We were really nervous for these procedures, as we've had a rabbit die in the past of a blood clot shortly after a spay surgery. This was at a DIFFERENT vet. But Clearbrook came highly recommended by a friend for their care with rabbits. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our bunnies were well cared for and we were kept up to date throughout the day. I paid extra for the laser incision and I'm glad I did. The female rabbit's incision is clean and neat and has been healing well. Our male rabbit is also healing up nicely. The pain meds we were sent home with seem to be keeping their pain well under control. Within a few hours of returning home they were both nibbling on food and pooping as normal. Thank you so so so much for taking good care of our bunny babies.

Dr.VJ has always been personable, knowledgeable and caring.He squeezes in appointments within the same day when our pets are sick.A modest and great vet for my pets. Highly recommended.

I brought in my precious dog, Maria in to this vet with a tumor on her spleen. I agreed to an operation. He told me he would contact me the next morning to let me know how it went. I wound up phoning him numerous times the next day and he was not available. He called me just before his office closed telling me that she didn't make it through the operation. I immediately went to his office to pay for the service and to get her collar. I had asked to see her to 'say goodbye' and was horrified when he brought her to me in a garbage bag. I will never take another one of my dogs there and I suggest that you don't either.

I've taken my dogs here for years and they have always been wonderful. They are always great priced as well. I also love how they help out many local rescues. I've never had anything to complain about with them, and always gotten the very best care for my animals.

My dog had a luxating putella surgery performed there. She was left to suffer so much it was unbelieveable. I phoned the vet and they did not get back to me until 7 hrs later. I finally took her to a different vet because I was so disgusted with them and the other vet put her on twice as much pain killer as Clearbrook had prescribed. The staff were not concerned and even tried to blame me because my dog was suffering so much. I wouldn't take a pig to them.
