I used to have positive feelings about OAH until recently; over the last few yrs we’ve had issues when it came to the treatment of 4 cats & 2 dogs. One cat had to be put down 2 wks after being treated; another cat had to be put down the day after they did a teeth cleaning; they charged me nearly $5000 for 2 cats’ teeth cleaning; 1 of those cats was later diagnosed w/ a possible tumour & stopped eating. When I called extremely upset knowing I had to let my 12 year old cat go, I was offered meds to stimulate his appetite so I could have him for the weekend...why? So he could suffer?! My last cat was brought for an ear issue, they did a deep cleaning & now she has a bobblehead issue.I told them several times it started right after they cleaned her ears & I’m ignored. They sent us to a neurologist & I've spent $10,000 w/zero resolution. My 5 MO pup was given antibiotics that's not for pups & a heartworm pill for roundworm.I don’t know WTF Dr Williams did to her as my pup came home aggressive

I have been taking my poodle to this facility for 7 yrs. now. My dog has seen a different vet almost ever time she goes. My dog has several health issues and she needs special vet food for her diet and a daily allergy pill. I’m always shocked when I come to pay the bill as it is always well over 300.00 every time. Today I got her med and was shocked at the outrageous price increase of 60.00 for the three months supply. I cannot afford that price as I am a retired person. Last summer my dog had a sty in her eye and the vet didn’t know what it was, scheduled her for surgery right away. She took meds for two weeks and I went for a follow up visit and I told her the bump was going away. I was told it will come back and will get bigger if not removed, so I kept the surgery appointment. Two weeks later the bump was completely gone and I called and cancelled the surgery. I do not trust this place anymore and will look for a clinic who is not a member of VCA, they are money grabbers .

Awful clinic. My puppy left their care from daycare with trauma to his scrotum which needed me to take him to emerg. The clinic couldn't answer my questions and had the nerve to say they hope to see my dog in daycare again. They only care about money and have no issue harming animals apparently.

We paid over $1,500 to neuter two kittens. Every time we step in the door they are trying to push some procedure, blood work, food, toys, etc. I have given them $5,000 is less than one year and won’t be returning to them. Way overpriced!

My only experience with this facility is having to bring my sister's dog.My many years of experience, with dealing with dog clinics/facilities, I can truely state that the main purpose at Oshawa Animal Hospital, located on Tauton Rd.is to extract as much money from dog owners. SHAME ON THE ENTIRE STAFF,including veterinarians for taking advantage of hard working pet owners, that are trusting YOU too give the best possible care to their beloved, without having to take a mortgage!! Unnecessary procudures, tests, are given to pets when MOST clinics (vets) can determine what care is needed! Without the added costs of unnecessary procedures/test!!!! We as humans go to our doctors when we don't feel well and usually get diagnosed and given a remedy... doctors don't rule out all other ailments FIRST, with tests, and procudures to then come back and say just take 2 Asprines. If you care about your pets and salvaging your hard earned money,STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC!!

This clinic is in it for the money. A follow up visit to check my dogs ears took less than 5 minutes cost me $96.05. They ask for the money smiling. I feel that anyone of modest means cannot afford a pet.

It's been a few months now since we had to put our dog down, and it's still extremely painful to think about or talk about. We had taken our dog to this place for 1.5 years, and had had always been told to vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate. The last time we took our little girl here they just gave her too many vaccines at once, and who knows if they were even the proper dosage. Why give a little dog all of these vaccines, especially at once. Dr.Do assured us that nothing would go wrong. Our little girls health started to deteriorate within hours. She lost her appetite, had fainting spells, and towards the end she couldn't use her hind legs. We had to put her down. To the vets at this clinic, and for that matter all vets who prescribe to dosing our beloved family members (dogs or cats), is the $$ you make selling these drugs really worth selling your souls to the devil! I will never trust another vet with the wellbeing of a beloved pet/family member. Rest in peace little girl :(

I have had several appointments at this hospital in the last couple of years and couldn't be happier with the service I receive. It is perhaps a little more expensive than others but as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for!". I would prefer to pay for competent advice than have poor or dangerous cheap petcare. The facilities at Oshawa Animal Hospital are amazing and the staff and vets are second to none. I have had many vets over the years but these guys are the best. They always find solutions when I have a problem but most important, they provide excellent preventive care for my pets so problems don't arise. They always make me feel welcome and my appointments are ALWAYS on time...love it!!! And now they have added a pet hotel. My pets will definitely be staying there during my upcoming vacation. That's how much I trust them.

I have just learned this past week that Dr Alison Sutton is leaving Oshawa Animal hospital. I was told she will be going to Rice lake area. I did my research and there is only one clinic in Rice lake. If anyone else is like me and wants to follow Dr Sutton I think she will be a t rice lake animal hospital. She has been my vet for many many years. I have however seen a huge changeover in staff. Obviously Dr Dorland is running a clinic in the best interest of 1 thing $$$$ she can't retain sraff let alone my Vet who I have been with for 10 years. That has something to say...very poor buisness management. I have agreed to pay the high outrageous prices just to have Dr Sutton look after my furry family. So I encourage anyone who has loved Dr Sutton to follow her. She must have left for a huge reason. Congrats Dr Sutton. I can't wait for you to continue. My pets care.

I would not recommend this clinic. It is one thing to have high prices - which this clinic certainly has - but there are a number of factors that are worth considering in that regard that are up to the customer's discretion. If you are given a quote here, I would recommend seeking alternative estimates if you think the price is high. You will very likely find that it is. ON A MUCH MORE SERIOUS NOTE, it is my experience and opinion, that you must be very critical of the opinions offered at this clinic. It is the type of place where your pet is more likely to be described as sick than healthy, for the severity of conditions to be emphasized, and for reactionary vet administered procedures to be the only courses of action discussed. As a result, it is my opinion that staff here either do not have, or do not share, a comprehensive knowledge of pet health and care. If you do take your pet here, I would advise seeking a second opinion before making any treatment decisions.

Would not recommend this hospital to my worst enemy. Dr Doland is pushy and rude and clearly only in it for the money. It's her way or not at all! Please, if you love your animal, don't go here.

This clinic makes you feel guilty unless you agree to all the expensive tests that they recommend. I explained that I couldn't afford what they suggested for my elderly dog, and the woman said "she has given you so much pleasure over the years ..." and I gave in. When it came time to put my dog down (less than a year after spending over $2,000), I priced another clinic for euthanizing and the price was HALF! I went to the other clinic and they were so fabulous. I would never go back to Oshawa Animal Hospital.

I have been going to this clinic for years, I won't be back and now need to find a new vet. They have always been overpriced, but I was pleased the care. Can't say that anymore. I took my cat in for a wellness check up. I felt I was being forced to vaccinate her. She's 16 and indoors. Her physical was listening to her chest and a feable attempt to look in her mouth. I walked out with an outrageous bill! I go there frequently, I always see a new vet. I don't know what's going on there, but the vets aren't staying and either am I.

I feel Oshawa Animal Hospital is extremely overpriced. I decided to call around to other clinics for pricing on annual exams and vaccines. I found a new clinic which charges half of what Oshawa charges. Needless to say I will he changing clinics.

Avoid this place at all costs. Complete scam and money grabbing clinic. A consultation fee was done on our dog for $110, we were in to get his rabies shot a month later and they charged another consultation fee. A basic neutering is $450, but the other estimate was near $720 when you included different medicines and drugs as a precaution. Will not step foot in that place again and would suggest anyone reading this would heed my warning. Called another clinic locally and was quoted $275 for a neutering. Safe your money and go somewere else. What scam artists.

Money grabbers! My dog was getting 2 vaccinations, staff wanted 2 visits, wiht of course double charge, since my dog is small to supposedly minimize a potential bad reaction. My dog does not have a history of adverse reactions to vaccinations. Promptly switched vets. New vet who specializes in small breeds, breeds chihuahuas, did not suggest a double visits unless there is a history of an adverse reaction. Also new vet would not charge for a double visit if needed. Oshawa Animal hospital also would not release my pet's health record to new vet without payment. Money, money, money is all they care about. Appears the only positive reviews for this clinic is from owners euthanizing their pets since clinic could not recommend more needless tests, procedures or medications to reduce chance of death.

As I read some of the negative comments about the OAH I hear pet owners frustration with the fact that veterinarians can't just tell them whats wrong with there pet without the aid of tests/medicine. What no crystal ball? And to have to pay for the many years of knowledge the Doctors and support staff have had to pour over to help us when we are in a crisis? How dare they charge so much! The OAH have looked after my pets for many years and been nothing but professional , knowledgeable and caring to my animal family. Many recommendations have been made over the years. Some I have chose to do some I have not. I have never been made to feel guilty should I decline any services. I appreciate the information and recommendations but the final decision is mine. I have no doubt the people there are there to help pets but like any business / profession there are costs associated with pet ownership. I'm glad that when I pick up the phone the always friendly receptionist gets me in ASAP.

This place is a money pit!!!! They care about getting your money first and your pet second. Receptionist are rude and argue with you on the phone. I would never recommend this office unless you have endless amounts of money to spend on your pet. Or you want to put your pet through countless amounts of tests! Not good!!

Excellent service. No complaints. Just put our cat down. A friend of ours for 17 years. She had multiple issues going on for some time and we received excellent guidance. Would not not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Our next pet will come here as well. Thanks to both the vets and the technicians for their time and care!!!!

Just had to have my dog put down. Staff could not have been more compassionate and helpful. Dr. Sutton helped us through a very trying and emotional experience and made us feel she had the best interests of our little dog a priority....the whole experience made is so easy for my daughter and I to experience. Our little 14 year old dog passed away with ease and peacefulness in my arms. thanks you OAC for your help during this very emotional time

Our dog has a very specific issue, we know what it is, we know how to monitor and control. This clinic forces an insane amounts of tests and has missdiagnosed a serious issue to the value of $1000. Every visit costs $400-500 for simple blood work, no other check up or vacination.

Would not trust the health of my dogs to any other vet clinic. They are knowledgeable, caring, efficient, compassionate and highly reliable. They want the best for their clients (pets and owners) and offer a wealth of experience. I have been a pet owner for over 40 years and Oshawa Animal Hospital is the best veterinary clinic I have ever dealt with - bar none!

Every time I bring my animals in this place it costs a fortune! They push unnecessary tests, unneccesary vaccinations, Science Diet food and herbal supplements and if you don't agree, they make you feel like a bad pet owner. Only interested in squeezing you for maximum profit.

this place is absolutely ridiculous. misdiagnosed our dog. took 3 sets of x-rays and found nothing. try to sell us everything in the building. the rvt's dont know a dam thing. the vet recommends every medication possible. they push science diet food (which is worse than costco brand and triple the cost) we pulled our dog out of there after they made us spend over 4k. would never tell anyone to put their dog through their non-sense.

The clinic uses every angle to get $. Insisted I couldn't have an app't for an xray for my cat. Made me leave her all day then charged me 60$ for boarding fees! Asked me if I wanted pill pockets for medication, then charged me $1 each (they retail for ~$3/bag of 30-40). cat was deathly ill, they suggested a teeth cleaning. Bad expensive irrelevant diagnostics. I moved away and my new vet asked for my cats records. They refused to send them-wanted payment for the records. My new vet said he had never heard of any other vets being so discourteous as to not send on records and to insist on payment. Spent thousands, no diagnosis. Excessive charges to run every test in the book though I highly suspect they were not all relevant. Thank god my cat recovered with a change to wet food (was likely dehydrated). No thanks to Oshawa Animal Hospital. Incredible money grubbers. Don't seem to care about the animals-care mostly for the money.
