Horrible experience, seems like they are just here to make money no compassion and very incompetent staff. Do not take ur pet here if u love them. Didn’t make my dog better my dog has been suffering for the last 2 weeks and all they care about is invoicing us and making money for things they haven’t even done. They are rude and absolutely unprofessional by asking me to say my credit card details out on the phone like what, how do I know u won’t use my card for whatever. All the other good reviews must just be there family and friends cuz al the bad ones are very similar to my experience.

Took our 17yr old cat to Dr. Dawson & had the most traumatic experience. We were there to have our 17yr old cat put down after kidney stone removal, years of treatment for thyroid condition and getting worse. No longer used her litter box, which we were told was a sign of pain when going, & was a bag of bones from the thyroid, had difficulty getting up & clearly in pain when moving. Dr. Dawson convinced us to try more meds for a week and if no improvement, then come back. No change, we came back to put her down. We were met coldly in reception, and when Dawson finally came in, he was furious with us! Very angrily told us they were “not in the business of murdering” animals & was disgusted with us. Says he’ll do it but not happy, & we are never to come back. I refused, said her last moments were not going to be in his hands. Took her to our old vet at Britannia Animal Hospital & they were so loving & great. Dawson made an already horrible day so much worse. Worst vet, & experience, ever

Dr Dawson and his staff told me that any pet owner who doesn’t take their pets in yearly is neglectful of them and they want nothing to do with you as a patient. I was there for 10yrs and when I called to inquire about my senior cat and if she passed naturally of old age how to deal with cremation, they said no animal should pass away naturally, it is due to neglect from the owner and they want nothing to do with us. If you love your pet like a family member please go elsewhere.

Way too expensive for a small treatment. One must find any other location that is less expensive as I found a better place for the same treatment and way to less expensive. Not recommended at all. Staff is also not very friendly.

Good clinic if you do not question the vet and your pet is not very sick. My dog now has a chronic condition due to Dawson not digging deeper. His treatment was one that would have had long term detrimental effects. When I asked for an alternative it was his way or the highway. I chose the highway and the new vet gave me four alternative treatments that he discussed pros and con's of. Costs were actually cheaper as well. Also found new vets check ups way more thorough.

The staff appears to be very caring and animal lovers. The knowledge of the vets are trustworthy. The only downfall is their prices are double to triple of what you would pay at another vet.

I was with Dr. Hawkins for over 20 years and got tired of paying for procedures and drugs on a "lets see" basis. Dr. Dawson has been great, he doesn't believe in over medicating and his caring attitude is wonderful. His appts are always on time. Really glad I switched.

We have been clients of Dr. Dawson's for many years - all the way back to his previous location. He has always provided excellent care for our labs, giving us all of our options, including price implications, and making recommendations based on all factors. He and the rest of the staff always make us feel like we and our dogs are more important than his business, which is probably why he has such a strong client base. His rates are fantastic when you look at what level of care you get in return. How many other vets will field a chocolate-consumption question at 11:30pm on a Saturday night - at no charge? His demeanor is just perfect - caring and sympathetic, but rational and direct. When we adopted our latest addition from the Humane Society, they had him on meds totalling $400 a month. Dr. Dawson immediately got this down to less than $200 and his health is much better than before. This is the way an Animal Hospital should be run!

Dr. Dawson is very kind and amazing with out 4 pets and us! He is always advising us of the best solutions for both our pets and our pocketbook. His advice is always bang on and often it comes on his evenings or weekends off. The Animal Hospital of Milton is the best clinic I have ever been to, Dr. Dawson really cares about us and our pets no matter the time of day.

Has been our family vet for many years. Dr. Dawson is caring and also practical. He does not push products or procedures that aren't necessary. He is knowledgable and makes sure that you and your pet are cared for properly.

Good vet, no nonsense, caring staff. If you are looking for a no nonsense vet that won't overcharge and recommend a lot of expensive procedures, then this is the place for you! I love my pets dearly, but in the end they are pets and he seems to get this unlike a lot of other places. However, if you are looking to spends thousands of dollars everytime your pet gets sick, then this may not work for you.
