I'm so disappointed after all what happened in the last 2 months. I used to trust and respect her opinion! Not anymore after being misdiagnosed!

One visit was enough for me. She was 45 minutes late for the appointment, with no apology offered. She told me my puppy had an overbite, and that he had surgery for an umbilical hernia. Neither was correct. His bite is fine and he had surgery to remove a retained testicle. We would never recommend her or go back.

Lisa and her team have gone above and beyond time and again for my sick cat.
When I faced an emergency situation, Lisa was away and still kept in constant contact throughout, offering advice and conferring with the various emergency veterinarians we saw. Her team is so full of compassion and helped us get into the OVC when it was necessary.
Lisa’s integrative approach has drastically improved my cat’s quality of life throughout his illness. She has never given up on him and reassured me when I needed it the most.
I feel so lucky to have a veterinary team that I feel 100% confident and comfortable with. They are always gentle with my cats and are amazing at working with them, even for trickier tests.

If I could rate the vet lower than zero I would. She is verging on negligent in her care for animals. After months of telling her my dog won't eat, is peeing everywhere and losing enormous amounts of weight, she grossly misdiagnosed him. I was told by her vet tech, (who you will actually speak with more than than her),that my dog was losing about a kg a month but it wasn't a concern!? Lisa had given my dog several urine dips over about a year (I requested) and a blood test and kept saying that there was some protein in his urine, but nothing to worry about. Well on Christmas day, my dog went into renal failure on my couch. In emerg. he was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure and we were told we just need to take him home and make him comfortable now. Apparently the several urine samples with protein in it WAS something to worry about. It took emerg. about 5 minutes to read and diagnose. My dog had gone almost a year in this state, now he is too far along to help. RUN from this vet!

Dr. Lisa saved our French Bulldog. He was diagnosed with IVDD and we were told by a vet in Toronto that the only way to get him out of pain and save him from paralysis was surgery which would have cost $10,000 A good friend recommend Dr. Lisa and I feel so blessed that she did. Dr. Lisa has an amazing, calmness about her and explained to us what IVDD really meant and all of our options. She recommended we try other alternatives before considering surgery which included a mix of holistic + pharma drugs + acupuncture. Our dog's recovery was unbelievable -- from being paralyzed, in severe whimpering pain, unable to move, eat or drink...within a few sessions with Dr. Lisa he was walking again! He had a relapse 1 year later and we followed Dr. Lisa's recommendations again and he made a full recovery! Hard to believe he was unable to move and now is a happy, healthy dog. We are so grateful and blessed to have met Dr. Lisa and for the amazing work she and her staff do!

We came to Dr. Lisa for a second opinion about our Great Dane pup with 'Wobblers'. Her quiet, caring attitude, accupuncture and Traumeel, gave us six wonderful years of GD love. When our elderly cat reached her final days, Dr. Lisa came to our home and eased her passing - with tearful hugs for us - and the fee was very reasonable, unlike a friend's experience elsewhere that cost him 4 X more $. We are going back to Dr. Lisa, Bill, and their excellent staff members with our new puppy (downsizing to Standard Poodle)!

We find Dr. Lisa Burgess to be a wonderful doctor and she has a great staff. Our 21 year old cat Zackery was shutting down, my heart was breaking. Lisa & her assistant came to our home and helped my husband and I get through the most difficult time in our lives. Zackary was our baby. Dr. Lisa Burgess handled Zackery's situation with care and loving kindness. I was extremely grateful that Lisa was there for us in Zackery's time of need.

Dr. Lisa is simply too busy, and does not pay attention to medical symptoms. My dog was having stomach issues and a problem going to the bathroom. Dr. Lisa put her on holistic supplements. The supplements did nothing and as I continued to worry, I took my dog back to my old vet (who moved out of town) who quickly did a rectal exam after I explained the symptoms. Dr. Kearns diagnosed very quickly there was a blockage/tumor and scheduled us for further tests. I left a message about my dogs diagnoses with Dr. Lisa and she did not even call back. Holistic solutions may work in some instances but you can't disregard medical facts and follow standard practice.

Extremely negligent -- did not even take the time to ask basic history questions about my dog such as the medications he was on. Very un-professional: called my previous vet "stupid" and told me my dog had a seizure because he was up-to-date on vaccinations. Did not even give me a diagnosis for my dogs problem and instead just pushed a raw food diet when I have young kids in the house and she didn't even warn me about the Salmonella risks associated with this diet. None of her medicine is rooted in science. Should not have a licence.

Firstly, a sign or anything indicating where her hospital is would have been very helpful. I was puzzled by the lack of signage in front of her house. I felt that Dr. Lisa did not listen. In an effort to be "different" than other veterinarians, and by that I mean less reliant of pharmaceuticals, she struck me as narrow minded. Feeding a dog raw meat is not the usual way to feed your dog. She promotes raw food, and sells it. How convenient. I have a healthy dog who has experienced bladder infections. I spent $300 on vitamins which I think she already receives in her Acana dry food. I brought in the list of ingredients from the bag and she didn't even look at it. Over-rated; over-priced. And she wanted to give my dog a rabbies vaccine even though she didn't need it for another year. She likes the money.

We tried Doctor Burgess out of desperation because our dog had chronic ear infections. We were paying huge dollars for a vet recommended canned food that was supposed to help with other health problems he had. We were very impressed with Dr. Burgess'kind gentle approach to our dog and upon her recommendation I started making his food. He hasn't had an ear infection since - over 2 years! Buddy recently had a back injury and we believe that her acupunture treatments have helped bring healing to our furry friend. He has also had extreme allergies at certain times of the year and with a natural remedy she prescribed, it has brought huge relief. Thank you Dr. Burgess!

I don't know why this vet gets good reviews. We took our dog to her and our experience was terrible. He was very ill and we could never reach her and she doesn't return calls/emails. The morning he died, we called to tell her we thought he was dying and were extremely worried about him. It was urgent. She got back to us about 9 hours later, just to say "sorry, cant see you until tomorrow anyway". By that time he was gone. So insensitive. Would never take another animal to her. And she says she's a wholistic vet but never brought up any alternative treatments with us.

We first saw Lisa when my Boxer was 1. He was limping and we were told the he needed ACL surgery and X-rays. Went to Lisa for 2nd opinion and were told 1 week of rest, traumeel and Chinese herbs and he was back to normal!!! She is very patient, thorough and kind!! It's been almost 4 years since then and we are still extremely happy!!!

I have taken my golden retriever to Lisa and her staff for since he was a pup. First off, she CARES about your animal every bit as much as if it was your child. She advocates raw feeding but ALSO doesn't make you feel bad if you choose to feed kibble. As long as it's healthy, she is happy. She only perform necessary treatments and does so holistically or western science route, WHICHEVER is best for your pet at the time. That is what I love about her. All she cares about is your pet and she gives you options. The entire staff are knowledgable and accomodating. I would never let another vet near my dog - I trust her like family and she has earned it over and over.

I am a relatively new client to this clinic, but after my first appointment I was sold! I was seeking out Veterinarians who cared for animals with the Holistic approach, because my cat had beed suffering from feline crystals off and on for some 4-5 years. I had enough of regular vets and their perscription diets(if you don't feed your cat this bag of dry kibble that you can only buy here,..she'll die!) Dr. Lisa Burgess(owner and the only vet at Millgrove clinic) just so happened to be the closest Holistic Vet to me, and just so happenes to be the best Veterinarian I've ever been to. First visit: she gave my cat acupuncture, talked with my husband and I for a good 30-40 mins about my cats problem with crystals over the years, which lead to her having to have an operation to get some bladder stones removed due to the crystals, gave us a bunch of chinese medicines and natural remides, changed her to a 100% wet food protein diet,...5 years of crap vets, one visit, a changed cat!
