All 3 veterinarians at this location failed to tell me that my puppy has ear infection (yeast infection) and other types of infections in his ear. We felt like something was wrong when he kept scratching his ears non stop for long duration of the time, ear was red and strong odor was emitting from his ear. He is 5 months old now. One of those veterinarians suggested to buy their medicated shampoo and apply to the skin. Other vet to wipe the ears. The third veterinarian said my puppy was "healthy - nothing wrong with ear". Guys, if you don't know just say it. We all make mistakes and we can't all know the answer. If you don't know - just say that you don't know. I will be calling your office to get some answers on Monday. Anyway I got my confirmation with another nearby vet place, 10 min walking distance away from these guys. I took action because my groomer told me " hey guys, did you know your puppy has ear infection". She is not a veterinarian and yet she knew exactly what it was.

Grossly overcharged for some tests and then refused to forward the results of said test to another vet for a second opinion. Were very cold and callous on the phone discussing the results. Were extremely rough with an aging and gravely injured animal. If you value your pets life avoid this clinic!

Customer service is terrible, vet canceling appointments a few hours before, not calling back when they say they will call right back, and rushing through vital information on follow ups. When it comes to pet care it's like taking care of a family member and i never felt like they truly cared.

Iam very happy with Vets and have been for 8 years now. Knowledgeable docs and Assistant's who lead with common sense, kindness and compassion. They truly love animals and are pretty great with people, too!

I have been a client at Columbia Square for 2 years and have been quite happy with their services. Dr. Brar senior seems to generally care about my pets and is an animal person. He also doesn't judge or pressure you. He seems to have a good amount of experience to be able to trust his judgement and care. The other staff are range from good to fantastic. Appointments are always on time, though can feel a little rushed. Prices are fantastic.

Just got home from my fur child's appointment and can't say enough good things about our visit. Background: my husband and I are moving to London in a month and we had to bring Meeko in for a new international microchip and rabies vaccination update. Dr. Chahal and our vet assistant were absolutely great and made the process incredibly easy. Meeko doesn't handle shots well and likes to play tough guy and they took it in stride, even as he was growling and hissing up a storm.
The UK has some pretty strict laws on timing of vaccines and Dr. Chahal knew all about it and recommended how to best get our health certificate back with APHIS verification in time for our travel (but before it expires). It was a relief to know that Dr.Chahal knew the process and I feel like we're in good hands When we move back to New West, I will most definitely be making Columbia Animal Hospital Meeko's vet!

Terrible. Young female vet there is a truly terrible, despicable person. Told my wife they'd have to behead her cat and test it for rabies. In-door cat in New West. Likely had a brain tumor. That's beside the point. We have a very sick, distraught, aggressive pet whom we were trying to make the best decision for, can't even say goodbye to properly and she has zero compassion or seemingly any understanding of the pain she was causing. Seemed to hardly be paying attention. Didn't give a damn.
Some of the staff there, we had been previously to neuter our other animal, are decent people. That one vet, young south-Asian woman, is a sociopath. She should not be allowed around animals or other people, there's something very wrong with her.
Do not take your loved one to this place. Ours deserved better and so does yours.

We have known them 5 years and are very satisfied. Dr. Kam is unfailingly gentle and thorough; my dog loves him best. His dad is more perfunctory. The staff is excellent.

My experience with this vet wasn't terrible, but I would not recommend this place to anybody. I took my puppy in to be spayed. The reception staff was friendly, but not comparable to other vet offices I've been to. The doctor spoke with me for all of 2 minutes before taking my (terrified) puppy away from me. He asked a couple brief questions, did not explain any risks or procedures with me at all. Didn't even give me the chance to say goodbye to my sweet puppy before surgery. Very cold. My puppy (who is about 12lbs grown) now has a 4 inch scar (huge), which I don't see as being necessary. They did a sloppy job of stitching her back up as far as I can tell too. Please reconsider if you are planning to use this vet.

Dr. Brar took care of my cat issues today. The receptionists were so so welcoming and amazing, Emily welcomed me with a beautiful smile and made me feel comfortable right away. The Doctor was so kind and straight forward. Very satisfied with my visit.

Dr Kam Brar is the best document (human or animal) I've ever met. He's patient and responsible and took good care of our cat.

I have 2 bouviers (1 is a rescue) 1 cat (rescue) and 1 new cat that just showed up at my door. I have been going here for 5 years, and they are the BEST. They always accommodate you to get your pet in asap. All the vets are knowledgeable and friendly and will spend time with you and your Pet. Whether it's just routine, or something more serious, this is the only place in New Westminster to go with your furry friends.

"Catch me if you Can" as my Vizsla runs into the sunset with a tennis ball in her mouth. Thank you Dr's at |Columbia Square vet for finding a cure for Tula's pain, so she could run again, on the beach with her siblings, Zola, a ridgeback and two, chihuahua's, Bizou and Jimmy. and after three weeks, she was magically cured. So if you want miracles and an Animal Clinic who's doctor put their animals first with tender loving care accompanied with sensibility and sensitivity.

My cat is dead thanks to them. Did not explain the health risks, did not act in a timely manner where proper speed and concern could have saved her. Told me to take her home and check back in a month, when another clinic confirmed her kidneys had already failed. A month? She was to suffer at home with me force feeding her for a month?? Save your money and your pet's life and go elsewhere!

Very good place, can get an appointment even on a short notice. Vet takes time to listen to my problems. Doesn't recommend unnecessary tests. Would recommend to my friends as well.

We were looking to get our male kitten neutered, and checked out many places before we decided on Columbia Square Animal Hospital. We are so glad we did. I was at first nervous about having my pet go through this procedure because he's very dear to me, but once we met with Dr. Brar we were certain that he was in great hands. From the beginning, the upfront staff was very friendly and helpful, the facility was clean and very organized and Dr. Kam Brar who treated and operated on our Bella was gentle, kind and very professional. The procedure was done punctually and the post procedure was explained to me clearly and with detail. All necessary measures were taken by the staff to ensure that my mind was at ease, and it is clear to both my husband and I that this clinic is now our family Vet. Thank you so kindly for taking such great care of us.

i went here, and i regret it. my puppy has a broken paw, they didnt treat her properly, didnt even let me know surgery was an option. months go by and my new vet tells me surgery should have been done. now puppy needs to have paw rebroken and a more intense surgery. this clinic may be cheap and it reflects in knowlegde and care. receptionist should go back to school as well. she has no idea what she is talking about ans has no skills.

very rude when I requested a prescription so I could get it filled at a pharmacy instead of paying extra at the vets office. Pet owners don't always know that it is usually cheaper to go to the drugstore, an antibiotic is an antibiotic -don't believe them when they tell you that you need to buy a medication only made for dogs- this a scam. Vet was reluctant to write the prescription. I waited a long time with a sick dog and was told by the receptionist that she was tired of people complaining and I should leave. The vet should fire this person- she is in the wrong job.

I've been to this vet three times with an appointment and the shortest amount of time I've had to wait was 35mins!!. He also misdiagnosed an issue with my dog (I decided to get a second opinion as he rubbed me the wrong way).

This small vet practice is very good. I have switched vets 2 times in 4 years. Main reason, cost too high and service spotty or unpredictable. This vet has his clinic open 7 days a week - and he works long hours. Very dedicated. Simple, to the point, cost effective and very good care. All around very good.

Professional and clean. Great staff and a Veternarian that truly cares. The on call surgeon is amazing. Always busy....which can result in some delays, but worth it. ...even though we know they are running late, we have never felt rushed. Very economical. Their prices are posted on their website...which no one else dares to do. Rogie and Rudi say thanks, Dr. Brar!

I would recommend Columbia Square Vet Clinic. The first appointment we had the vet made a treatment plan for our sick dog and didn't charge us for the appointment. The prices were very reasonable and I trusted the clinic to help my dog. It's open all the time and it's easy to make appointments.
