We usually request to see Dr Martin. I truly have to say he is a gift to pets and their owners. We have had the sad experience of having to put some of our beloved pets down, and his compassion is amazing, even after all these years that we have been seeing him. During the lives of our pets, he has been so competent, as well as having common sense, that I trust his judgement and diagnosis completely.

New to Barrie and when I go to a vet office (or seek out any service for that matter) I expect to be treated as a valued customer. The office staff should take some courses in customer service. On 5 multiple occasions going there I have been very disappointed with their front staff. My dog who is my best friend has bone marrow cancer and when I asked for the breakdown of my last bill, I was looked at like it was the strangest question she had ever heard. She then followed it up by smirking and essentially mocking me, totally insulting me. Then she asked me “why I wanted to know". Well lady I just spent thousands getting to this point, so I shouldn't really have to explain to you why I want a breakdown of what I am paying for as a customer. This was the breaking point for me. Will not be coming back here because your staff lacks the basic principles of human compassion and caring customer service. Stay away.

We have been clients of this clinic for over 13 years. They have been skillful, compassionate and treated all of our animals with great care and professionalism. We have had 5 dogs and 4 cats in their care over that time. We have been attended to by each of their doctors and they are all very competent. As one might expect, each vet has their their own area of special expertise. The clerical staff are pleasant and helpful. I consider their fees to be average and have never felt inappropriately pressured or charged. In fact, they have often looked for ways to help me to stretch my veterinary dollars. I would not hesitate to recommend this clinic.

Last week I took my dog in to the Barrie Veterinarian Clinic for her annual checkup. She had also recently hurt her ankle and had been on and off limping a bit. Dr. Lawrence said it wasn't necessary to have medication for her, but I asked for it as I didn't like my dog being uncomfortable. Occurred to me that my dog has to go to the camp she stays at this weekend as I have to go away for work. I called to ask for a few more pills in case she is uncomfortable while away and came home to a message from Dr. Lawrence - LAUGHING - and sarcastically saying "I don't know why you would even consider going away and leaving her but I guess that isn't really my decision, is it?" Yes, unfortunately, I can't quit my job to stay with my very mildly injured dog. Just what ever working single mom needs! More judgment and guilt. Perhaps a HUMAN should consider that maybe it isn't their business to judge circumstances for which they are not involved. Shame on you, Dr. Lawrence!

I called this vet to arrange seeing my 2 dogs after my old vet closed down. The receptionist was very rude, to the point that I decided I would not take my dogs there. Afterwards I heard from a friend who takes their dog there, that they were not happy. Seems they are out just to get the money.
