West Hills Animal Hospital is the best animal hospital on the island without a doubt. I went to many different hospitals with my dog (Hank) prior to finding West Hills and couldn't be happier with them. I am able to board my dog, come in for an emergency at 2am (at no extra charge) and know that people are there around the clock for him. The staff is wonderful and everyone is excited to see me and Hank when we come in.

This hospital is the best hospital on Long Island. Technicians are staffed 24 hours a day to look after your pets if they are in the hospital. The vets are world class - most have gone to Cornell University. I wouldn't take my pet anywhere else and there is no reason to. Bring your animal to West Hills!! You won't be disappointed.

In summary, I haven't been able to rely on them to provide adequate care for my animals. I've been using West Hills for several years. It's been more than just checkups, my cat ended up with diabetes and hypertension, so glucose curves and other rather expensive procedures have been performed. Initially everything seemed Ok. Then, during a routine glucose curve, there was some sort of communications issue between two of the vets and they ended up giving my cat insulin when his sugar levels were already low! After emailing the owner and complaining, he assured me that he would handle the next case and it would be on them due to the mistake. For the next curve, they didn't follow my feeding instructions even though I told the vet, the technician and wrote it on their form on the lines for feeding instructions. Keeping an animal on his regular feeding schedule and food is very important for glucose curves. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else and get good care for your pet.
