After spending time and money with other toronto vets we've settled on Dr Bureau because of her experienced and common sense approach to our animals' health. For example she will recommend dietary changes before advising on more expensive procedures to cure our dog's allergy problems. She is professional and one of those old- fashioned vets who puts animal welfare first.

Have been taking my pets to this hospital for care since 1977. The staff and veterinarians are always friendly, punctual, patient with my cats who don`t often co-operate, willing to answer questions and open to trying the most cost effective treatments. I`ve had to deal with the passing of 2 senior cats over the years and in both cases, the staff were very sensitive and supportive allowing us to come to the office outside normal business hours. They sent a donation to the Veterinary College for 1 and a condolence flower arrangement for the other. Dr. Fraser and his staff are tops in my books! I was concerned to learn Dr. Fraser is now semi-retired however my recent visits with Dr.R.Smith and Dr.C.Mardinger have also been very satisfactory so I feel Dr. Fraser is doing a good job choosing new vets to work in his practice. From talking to other pet owners about what their vets charge, I think I am getting excellent pet care for my money.

My wife and I had been taking our dog to this clinic for about 4 years before moving out of Toronto, and have had the pleasure of dealing with Dr. Somers and Fraser on many occasions. Both were at all times very professional and helpful. Many times they would even recommend home remedies rather than diving right into medications or expensive treatments. We unfortunately had to put our dog down after years of worsening hips but Dr Fraser was patient and attentive to not just our dogs needs, but ours also. The other staff at the clinic were always cheerful and willing to help also. The facilities, although in a slightly older building, were always clean and tidy. I really cannot say enough what a great team they are. I do not know when we will get another dog, but I know I would be willing to drive the hour and a bit just to see them. Thank you Fraser and Staff for all your kind help over the years, from Ian, Kris, and our little stinker "Winnie".

I've taken my cat to Fraser McDonald Animal Hospital for two consecutive check-ups, seeing Dr. Somer both times. I was always able to get an appointment super fast, and never sat in the waiting room for long. Dr. Somer is great - she's gentle and approachable with both me and my cat. At last year's check-up she said my kitty had bad tartar on his teeth and should get them cleaned ($600+) - BUT she added that I might want to try him on special dental care food first, to see if that would fix the problem. AND, she gave me a free baggie of food to try! I really appreciate that Dr. Somer didn't try to push me into getting expensive dental work. ***************IN CONCLUSION**************** I like the staff, facilities, and low wait time. The office itself isn't super-fancy, but I don't care about that anyway. And I gave "monetary value" a 4 only because I've never taken my little guy anywhere else so I have no basis for comparison.

Dr. Fraser is a terrible vet. Not only does he not listen when you voice your concerns- he is basically unwilling to take on any cases outside of routine vaccinations. He will refer everyone to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic (where the prices are 3x higher) for problems that could be easily solved within his clinic. He is lazy and quite arrogant. On top of this- I have been told by his staff that he has over 10 cats living in and wandering around the clinic. Every time I have had an appointment with Dr. Fraser 5 or so cats have wandered in and out of the exam room even though I have explained to him that my cat is nervous around other cats. Once I brought my dog to be seen and one of the clinic cats clawed his nose and it bled. I seriously urge you to go to any other clinic but this one. He should not be a practicing vet.

I have moved far away from the High Park area and my one true regret is not being able to have Dr. Fraser as a vet for my kitties anymore.
Over the years, Dr. Fraser provided friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate care for my parade of feline friends.
He is the best vet with whom I have ever worked. He knows his stuff and you can tell by his manner that he genuinely loves animals. Given that so much communication between animals and humans is through their senses, his calming, loving approach always made vet visits as easy as possible.
We lost some furry friends over the years and Dr. Fraser was a good friend to them and us through those difficult situations as well.
I would highly recommend Dr. Fraser to anyone who wants a great vet.
