Click to report rating    12/3/13   5     5     5     5   Frankfort Animal Hospital has never done work for a purebred rescue. I suspect this pet was from the CCHS and then transferred it to an outside rescue. On 7/27/2011, FAH was presented with a cat to spay from the CCHS that weighed 7.8 pounds and was named Bianca. The previous owners marked on the surrender papers that it had no history of previous surgical alterations. Under general anesthesia, no signs of a spay scar was noted. No signs of testicles was noted on pre-surgery exam. When expressing the bladder the stream of urine was narrow. A penis was located but no testicles within the scrotum were found. The concern was that this cat could be a cryptorchid (testicles within the abdomen). This can lead to cancer if not surgically removed. For some reason, we see a lot of these in our area (most likely since it is a genetic problem). Last week we had a bilateral cryptorchid and last month had 2 unilateral cryptorchid surgeries. Due to the cost it was decided to conduct an exploratory su RID: 48579
Click to report rating    11/8/11   1     1     1     1   I adopted a silver persian cat from purebred cat rescue that was treated at this hospital by Kurt Strueh. After putting this cat through unnecessary surgery, attemping to spay a male cat that was already neutered, they also failed to treat the 1" polyp in his right ear and the severe ear infection. My vet treated this with an antibiotic shot and I've been doing daily ear cleanses and drops 2xs daily for the last 10 days. And now the cat is being treated for roundworms. I am uspset by how inhumane this persian was treated, or actually I don't feel he was adequately treated at all. If your clinic is going to claim to support and treat rescue cats, than do it properly or not at all. RID: 28947
