Click to report rating    4/11/18   4     4     4     1   We have unfortunately been there 4 times with 3 different cats over the years. We had to euthanize 2 and one was a serious leg injury. Some of the vets have been Great, some cold, and some not seemingly very competent. If you have to go there, get your wallet ready. Our last visit was an exam, pain meds, and euthanasia, and it cost us $350. Insult to injury when you already have to say goodbye to your fur friend. But what other choice do you have late at night? I wish their rates were more reasonable. RID: 65922
Click to report rating    3/19/17   5     5     5     5   My dog Maggie was 11yrs old. One Sunday not long ago I woke up to find my Maggie could barely stand, her head was twisted around like the girl in the Exorcist movie. She was scared kept trying to walk but could not balance. We called a vet in Chatham with Sunday hours. We explained we thought our dog was dying and this was an emergency. We were informed that the Chatham vet already had 2 dogs in the clinic and they wouldn't be able to see our Maggie. Then we. Called a 24/7 clinic in Windsor but got no answer, they had left their fax on so sour calls could not get thre. Then called on in Tilbury, they didn't have a vet in but they offered to take Maggie in for observation for the night, the only thing is they would have to ip her to Windsor for the night as they didn't have overnight staff. Got ticked and call London. Yes they would see Maggie as soon as we could get here there. We made the right choice to travel to London. Will never waste our time with Chatham Vets again! RID: 63075
Click to report rating    7/18/13   3     4     5     2   When it's an emergency, it's an emergency. And it's expensive. If the animal can wait until morning or Monday, save the money. But overall, the care is pretty good. I was unimpressed with one vet trying to tell me my pet still had a fever when the temperature fell within the normal range. He was severely dehydrated when he went in there, so the IV definitely helped. They should have made a more concerted effort to get food into my pet, since not eating was what had made his health situation so critical. Overnight, there were a bunch of staff more or less just hanging out when someone could have been syringe-feeding my pet. So I cut my losses, got him out of there and continued to feed and hydrate him myself at home. He's made it so far... RID: 45672
Click to report rating    2/20/13   5     5     4     4   Recently I had to take my dog to the after hours clinic for care on the family day weekend. The care she received from the doctor was excellent. I have been there several times over the years. Unfortunately when I was in the waiting area I had to listen to another client gripe about the cost of vet visits. Clearly she had made her mind up about this clinic before even walking in the door. After listening to her you could tell all of her complaints were really not valid and really coming from her displeasure with the bill. When I got my dog, I knew their would be vet costs and accepted that as part of being an owner. It was so difficult listening to this lady be disrespectful to the staff who were doing their best. The main reason I am rating this clinic after this experience is to let them know their services are appreciated and well worth it. RID: 40591
Click to report rating    2/2/13   5     5     5     3   Part of having pets is dealing with illness and injuries. I have used the after hours Vet E.R. many times and have always had good service. Yes they are expensive but at 2 in the morning and you need a Vet...they are there. I have had to put 2 animals down over the years there and I have always had the kindest, supportive and most caring individuals help me. I received a sympthay card after wards which was more then I received from my Vet. If you have a sick pet I highly recommend this clinic. RID: 40111
Click to report rating    11/13/11   1     2     2     1   Don't bring your pet there if you want it out alive -or at best they give it away to a rescue group before you have even paid the bill! Non ethical, immoral, uncaring and where profits are their only real concern company. They don;t live up to their own mission statement. I was rushed into making decisions with no options for treatment whern they didnl;t know the diagnosis and pressured into signing for 'any amount of money' without an estimate, or plan of care. Behind my back, they had already contacted rescue groups 'if they could get me to surrender my dog' would they take the dog-still no diagnosis and no plan of care- heck the dog wasn't even signed in yet! While waiting, we only saw dead animals coming in(costs you) and those that came in alive died there. Not a pleasant experiance for anyone. RID: 29092
