We brought our 7 year old completely healthy and happy Sheltie Tundra into this facility for a dental cleaning. They allow vet techs to do the anesthesia and in this case the vet in charge, was entering notes in her computer while the vet techs were administering the anesthetic. One of the techs failed to either notice the valve which allowed the dog to exhale was locked shut or she shut it off by error. The vet in charge still entered her notes in her computer. As a result the dog could not exhale and only was fed fatal inhaling breaths of oxygen. The tech finally noticed the dog going into cardiac arrest two to three minutes later. The vet finally got up and worked on the dog another 4 minutes or so to get the heart started. The brain of Tundra was deprived of oxygen for about 6 minutes. They turned our dog into a vegetable because this vet, Dr. JENNIFER SMITH felt it necessary not to supervise the vet techs. Please stay away from this animal hospital if you love your dog.
